ANTIQUE RIDGWAY VICTORIAN MILK WATER PITCHER CHOCOLATE POT INDUS GAME BIRDS 1877
Up for auction is this lovely Ridgway water/milk pitcher in the INDUS pattern dated on the underside June 1877. This is in wonderful condition. It shows extremely well with very little imperfections on the underside of the pitcher. It has a stain and a a rough edge along the bottom and I do show all in the pictures provided. The scene is flying brown game birds or pheasants with foliage and a church steeple or a mission of some sort in the background. This English Earthenware piece is a remarkable collectible. it is from the Victorian era and has the RSR(Ridgway Sparks Ridgway) mark on the underside as shown. The symbols indicate that this was produced in June 1877. It has a lovely braided handle and the spout doesn't have any dings. This pitcher stands 8 and 1/2 inches with a 4 inch opening at the spout. This beautiful Victorian Chocolate set was made in Germany. We know this because of the"Germany 170" mark on the bottom. The set is is notable for the molded patterns on the white porcelain and delicate stenciled flowers. Its style will be recognized for collectors of fine Victorian Chocolate Pot sets from Germany. Antique 14 Pc Set Victorian Chocolate Pot Cups Saucers Roses E&R Germany
Here we have a very pretty porcelain chocolate pot with lid and 6 cups and saucers. The chocolate pot measures just under 10" to the top of the lid and 7" across the spout and handle. The saucers are just over 5" across and the cups are 2 3/4" tall and just under 2 1/2" across the top rim. Pitcher is marked E&R Made in Germany. Cups and saucers are unmarked. I found one really tiny flake(more like a rough spot) on the rim of one of the cups(see last few closeup photos) The lid has a dab of green paint as shown. I believe that the roses are transfers and then they all have handpainted highlights. There is typical wear on the pieces, few light scratches here and there. Really a gorgeous set! Hello- This is a wonderful Antique Chocolate Pot Set. The set has VERY light wear marks. But no chips or cracks of any kind. The pot stands approx. 10" w/ handle x 7 1/2" at the widest. The serving tray/plate measures 10 1/2" wide w/ handles, and has a 8 1/2" serving area. Each cup is approx. 3" high x 2 1/2" across, with 5" saucers- pretty standard. It is properly marked on the bottom, with the artist signature being E.D.R. and sometimes just ED. A POT THATS HOT TO TROT! Harking back to gentler. More graceful days and manners of a society in a past historical era, the Victorians had a special object for almost every function at the dining table in their elaborate homes. Such was the porcelain fancy decorated Chocolate Pot for serving the treatful beverage that was not a teapot, not a coffeepot, it most surely was manufactured to be used for serving hot chocolate in your demitasse cups at afternoon break time and evening affairs. Our unsigned Chocolate Pot is most likely European manufacture Austrian type porcelain based upon its bulbous shape. Ornate lid and fancy flange handle, and delicate springtime blooms sprinkled all over consisting of jonquils and violets in pastel, all trimmed in shining gold gilt paint at the edges in thick swirls. I have a Gorgeous Chocolate Pot that I am offering to you today. I could not find any makers marks on it so I am hoping the pictures will tell all for you- so please if you have any questions. Please just ask. The Chocolate pot stands approximately 9.25" in height. 7 1/2" side to side. The hand painted designs on this are just wonderful. There are continual curved panels that go all the way around. The gold gilding is great but does show minimal wear. I did not see until I was taking pictures of the damage on the underside of the spout, but because it is such a Beautiful piece I am still offering it to find it a home. The damage mentioned above is the only flaw I could find on this piece. Otherwise it is in great shape. All of the items that we offer our Ebay customers are on display at our Pennsylvania location. This pot is worth so much more. But read on… This is for a very beautiful victorian chocolate pot. It stands tall and proud with handle and pouring lip. 8 inches tall and 4 inches across the bottom. It skirts out at the bottom for that vintage look. It has floral bouquets on both sides in shades of purple lavender yellow pink an blue and green. Trimmed with gold gilt. signed on bottom: Gerold Porzellan and also has a number 967. After I took pictures and listed this item. I noticed a very small crack in the back. Like a hair line crack, so I went back and lowered my price considerably rather then delete it. The crack is so small i didn't even notice it at first. I took a close up picture of the crack. You can see it in the last photo. I still think someone would love to have it in their china cabinet or? on display. At least the crack ... moreis in the back. Im feeling bad about this. It shows a Victorian lady with a Cherub by her side feeding her fruit. They are sitting in an Outdoor Garden with Beautiful flowers and trees surrounding them ~ just a beautiful scene. The pot around the scene is Cobalt Blue around the top and White everywhere else. There is wonderful Gold gilt detailing throughout. The Handle is elegant and also has the beautiful gold gilt detailing. The lid is white with the Cobalt blue around the edge and has an elegant finial on top and is also done with the gold gilt detailing. No detail was spared on the Beautiful Vintage Chocolate Pot. lovely tea or chocolate pot from the 19th century, unmarked. Unknown maker, feathered scalloped base, flow blue on white porcelain. Hand painted gilding& pink roses& green foliage. Graceful handle& lid, 7" tall to rim. Lid adds another 1-1/2" lid was broken& glued together in am amateur fashion- pot is free of cracks. Crazing, chips, stains or repairs- the photos with the handle on the left show a piece of cellophane tape at the top which I have since removed easily. Check out my!
