Fine Japanese Netsuke of Boy and Cricket This charming Japanese netsuke dates from the 19th century and was once part of the Crane family collection. ... moreI was able to buy some of the Japanese things from this collection. Put together by members of this famous American family, makers of high quality paper since the before the American revolution. They still make the paper for the US MInt. The little boy has apparently released his cricket from under the woven basket that his left hand now leans on. There is a red lacquer signature plaque on the base. Bearing one Japanese character. An old repair shows clearly on my photos. At one time the left hand, basket and the leaf that joins basket and knee were broken away.they have been repaired and reglued well, but a better job could certainly be done. LENGTH 1 3/16 inches( 3.1 cm) HEIGHT 1 1/8 inches( 2.7 cm) I sell most of my items on eBay with a reasonable reserve. Often at my cost, and always less than what I would expect the item to sell for. Very careful packaging is part of my shipping cost to anywhere in the continental USA or elsewhere. If you desire to have your purchased insured. I am happy to do so if you request it, but that would be at your cost. International buyers should contact me for shipping costs before final payment is made. A little wear consistent with any household item which is over one(perhaps two) centuries in age. Not flawless, but certainly in an excellent state of ... morepreservation. DETAIL: A nicely preserved large sized traditional blue and white porcelain teapot with a design so wonderfully characteristic of late Ming/early Qing Dynasty artwork. The glaze is entirely intact. Vibrant cobalt blue, and the condition of the pot is exceptionally good. There are of course a few minor scuffs, marks, dings, etc. All of the preceding almost unnoticeable and very minor– we’re just playing critic here in the interest of full disclosure. The tea pot almost seems as if it was used primarily for decoration. The tea stains though unmistakable, are still nonetheless relatively light. In fact a good scrubbing and there’s no reason at all why you could not use this for your own ceremonial high tea. There are of course one spout and two handle loops- all entirely intact. The two handle loops would have served as attachment for two wicker handles. Of course after several centuries the(biodegradable) wicker handles are long gone. But the teapot remains entirely intact. This is as close to as good as one can reasonably expect of a teapot this old. It’s not perfect, but it is about as close to it as you will ordinarily find of an authen

Antique Villeroy & Boch Dresden Made in Germany 7" Tall 19th Century Teapot
This is a very RARE antique Villeroy& Boch coffee or teapot that stands close to 7" tall to the top of the finial. I have had it on a library shelf for over 50 years. It has an interesting blue& white floral pattern on the body and lid. Its flowing lines suggest an Art Nouveau design. Condition: the body is in remarkably good condition- age crackling only. The top has 2 cracks and chips on the underside and 1 chip on the rim. These do not threaten the integrity of the item and only the one on the top is visible. MADE IN GERMANY appears on the underside of the top. The trademark was used by V&B from 1874 to 1909. This pot is probably of the older variety of that period. It is identified as made in the Dresden factory and Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Some porcelain pieces show that patents were granted to V&B in 1913. This is an ... moreopportunity to obtain a beautiful piece of antique porcelain at a reasonable cost. Inside the USA. I will send this teapot FREE of charge by Priority Mail. I always pack very carefully and mail as soon as possible.

Rare Antique Earthenware Aladdin's Lamp Teapot 19th Century
19th Century Earthenware Aladdin's Lamp Teapot Chocolate Brown glaze over Earthenware. I have not been able to find out much about this teapot since I bought it at auction. The auction house had no history on it either. Impressed mark on bottom" S. Co" Can't find a record of this exact mark In looking online I have found that during the late 18th and early 19th centuries a number of pottery companies produced this style modelled after ancient Roman Samian Ware. Possibly English but I can't find one like it so not sure. 8 1/4" spout to handle. 6" at widest point. Approx. 4" tall with lid. Just over 15oz weight Small chip at the tip of spout(see photo) As you can see from photos there is some glaze loss particularly on the lid but smaller loss on the bottom and a very small amount inside bottom. I've ... morecleaned it up some but it still needs some detail cleaning with a Q-tip as it is still a bit dusty.

Antique 19th Century Measham BARGEWARE Glazed Pottery Teapot & Stand
Antique 19th Century Measham BARGEWARE Glazed Pottery Teapot& Stand with Floral Relief Work We are offering for sale this unique antique Measham Bargeware teapot with kettle stand. It is a rich dark brown glazed pottery with charming floral relief work on the teapot. Stand and lid. It says"God Bless Our Home" on the teapot. These pieces were made in the Derbyshire area of England during the second half of the 19th century. The people working on the canal boats had these pieces made for them personally or to give as gifts. Many of these teapots were personalized with names or specific messages so it is harder to find the ones without them like this. They are heavy so they would be less likely to tip over on the barges. This teapot is 8 1/4" tall to the top of the handle and 9 1/4" when on the stand. The teapot is in ... moreexcellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. The stand also is in very nice condition with a small area on the bottom rim with no color or glaze which looks as though it may be original to the piece such as a mold mark. The surfaces are bright and shiny; there is crazing consistent with the age of the piece. It's hard to believe the great condition of this teapot. It must have been lovingly cared for over the years. It's nice too that it has the kettle stand as many of them have not survived. What a wonderful conversation piece and functional as well. CHAMBERLAIN WORCESTER 19th Century Antique old Porcelain Creamer and Sugar Bowl
Up for sale here is a vintage. Antique circa 1840s or earlier Chamberlain Worcester Red Script mark Asian Tea House design Creamer and Sugar bowl with lid. The size of the creamer is about 5 1/4 inches long by 4 1/2 inches high. The sugar bowl measures 7 inches across by about 5 inches high at the top of the lid's finial. Only one piece is marked in red hand written script"Chamberlain Worcester no.323" The 323 we believe is the pattern number but we don't know a lot about the Chamberlain's patters so we don't know the exact name of the one that decorates this creamer and sugar bowl. As for condition. One of the sugar bowl's handles was broken in three pieces and repaired in an OK fashion. You can see the old glue coming out of the repaired joints. There are also four 3/4 inch spots missing on the top gold band ... morenear the lid where the lid was taped down to the sides of the bowl and when the tape was removed the gold came off with it. Fortunately the decoration remained intact on the lid. There are no hairlines, chips or cracks to the lid which is in good shape. The bowl part outside of the repaired handle and gold loss on the rim does not have hairlines or chips. The creamer is in very good condition with chips and no restorations and the gold is in overall good shape with just a tiny spot missing off the top of the handle of the creamer. Despite the damage, this is a very difficult pattern to find by Chamberlain Worcester. There is a lot of workman ship on these pieces. If you collect creamer and sugars this would make a nice addition for your collection. Thank you very much for checking out our ebay store. Shipping to Western Europe is $49.00 Shipping to Canada is $32.00. International customers are responsible for any import taxes. Customs or duty fees. Shipping is $15.95 in the lower 48 United States. Illinois residents please add 7.75% for state sales tax.
