Little Chinese export porcelain teapot from the late 18th century. This piece was made between 1760-1785. This piece is hand enameled with various brilliantly colored flowers. There is also a gilded and red painted band of design around the rim of the teapot and cover. Inside of the teapot is an old tag from the 1920s with a description and price for the teapot. The bottom of the tag reads: Formely in the Aberfoyle Collection: Sevenoaks. Kent. This tag incorrectly identifies the pot as being Lowestoft. This is a common mistake as Lowestoft copied Chinese Export pieces, oftentimes so precisely that many are fooled. This piece is the harder porcelain Chinese export, it was made in China ... morecertainly between 1760 and 1785. The overall condition of this piece is excellent considering its age. There is a slight hairline crack on the handle that does not go through completely as well as a small. Very old chip to the finial. The line in the handle was probably original to the manufacture. Otherwise, there are no splits, no breaks, no other cracks, no other chips, no repairs and no other problems of any kind. Bottom of teapot has six characters that are blurred. See photo. Appears to be hand painted. Lots of gold that has worn off over the years. Age is unknown. Love the praying mantis with the flowers. Antique English Glazed Engine Turned Redware Coffee Pot Set Chinese Style 1700s
This auction features a one of a kind 1700s engine turned or pottery wheel English coffee pot set. This set comes complete with a coffee pot. Sugar bowl, and creamer, the pot and sugar bowl both having their lids. Which is especially rare. This amazing Yi-Hising Chinese inspired set is in fabulous shape with only a few minor chips. No cracks, and to my knowledge there has been no repairs. I believe this set was produced by the dutch silversmiths David and John Elers, who worked in London and Staffordshire in the early 1700's. The brothers produced a very finely potted smooth ware with decorated applied China export designs. All pieces have a matte glaze on the tops and a shiny wet look glaze towards the bottom. Measurements are as follows: Coffee pot with lid stands 10-1/2" tall and is 9"in diameter at its widest point. The ... moresugar bowl with lid is 7" tall and 7-1/2" in diameter at its widest point, and the creamer is 5-1/4" tall and 6" across at its widest point. Two Rare very early Teapots. They came from an estate of an 88 year old lady that ran owned and ran an Antique store years ago. The Chinese one measures 6 inches tall by 7 inches wide. The Clay English Pot measures 5 1/2 inches tall by 9 inches wide. The Chinese one has a handle mold error as shown in the pictures. Also it looks like the inside top of the lid was painted gold at one time. Bird Marking on the bottom. The English Teapot has minor crazing. Antique Porcelain Chinese Tea Bowl Salvaged from the Dutch trader, Geldermalsen
1751 or earlier. Salvaged from the Dutch trader. Geldermalsen which sunk in the South China Sea in January 1752 after taking on cargo in Canton, including these porcelains. A portion of the cargo was salvaged and sold at auction in 1986, at Christies in Amsterdam. The saucer retains the original Christies sale tag identifying it as from the Nanking Cargo. The tea bowl, 3" diameter and the saucer 4 1/2" dia. Both decorated in blue on white with pagodas on rocky islands with gnarled foliage. Matching color and condition with no damage but minor discoloration and glaze flaws as typical for these. At this time saucers were purpose made for use with the cups. Later, as with Worcester porcelain, they were used with the cups and alone for condiments, sauces etc. and thus became known as saucers.u236]

The handles and creamer/teapot finials are bamboo styled. This set is all a bit chunkier than more modern porcelain. It could be a childs's version or just on the small adult scale. The colors are strong. And bird details are lively! All pieces appear to be original to the set. The lids fit perfectly. Size: Teapot is 4" tall x 6.5" across spout. Antique/Vintage Early '60s Chinese Cat Teapot/Creamer - Unusual, Signed
For those of you who collect these teapots. This one has green leaves handpainted on it. This seems to be very unusual as I viewed dozens of others listed and found not one in green. This is a cute little teapt from the early'60s. It has been used through the years so there is some paint loss, only what is commensurate with the age of the piece. The background is white porcelain and the details are all hand painted. The eyes are green with long eyelashes and there are groups of three green leaves painted in various places all over the cat's head and body. There are also groupings of three tiny dots painted in blue all over the teapot. There are gold gilt accents at the top of the spout and around the neck of the cat. The top or head of the cat has notches on it so that it stays in place while in use. The bottom of the pot is marked ... morein red MADE IN CHINA and there are also red Chinese characters. I do not know if this is a signature or some other information. The teapot is about 5 3/4" tall and about 5 1/2" wide at the widest point. There are no chips, cracks or repairs of any kind and other than slight paint loss the item is in excellent condition. Please check out the photos as they are part of the description. Antique Chinese Shipwreck Salvaged Scholars Rock Ca Mau Porcelain Tea Set 1723AD
A hard to find. High quality matching teabowl and saucer set from the Ca Mau wreck. The bowl and plate date to the Yongzheng Period of China's Qing Dynasty(1723-1735) and were salvaged from the Ca Mau shipwreck- officially recorded pieces with Ca Mau stickers and numbers. The plate and bowl pair have been hand painted with matching depictions of the classic scholar's rock scene. With flowers rising and blossoming from the terrace to the rear. Moths are shown in flight to the side. Cross-hatch decoration adorns the inner rims of the plate and bowl, whilst the bowl contains a blossoming flower on the tondo. Scholar's rocks are naturally occurring rock formations that have been prized by Chinese since the 9th Century. They were set on a pedestal and admired for their beauty. Where they were often compared to lost ancestors. This ... moreset was exported from Jingdezhen(a Kiln in southern China) on the Ca Mau vessel. A Junk bound for the port of Jakarta, modern day Indonesia. The Junk, or large trade vessel, was capitalizing on the booming business of Chinese Export porcelain. The beginning of the 18th Century saw an insatiable appetite for Chinese ceramics sweep across most of Europe, with coffee and tea drinking a new and popular pass-time for the wealthy and middle-class alike. Archaeologists have discerned that the final hours of the Ca Mau were spent ablaze. As the crew failed to control a fire on the ships deck. She finally sank thirty nautical miles off the Ca Mau peninsula in southern Vietnam, her memory lost until fishermen happened upon her whilst trawling in 1998. Plate diameter: 4 1/2 inches. Bowl diameter: 2 3/4 inches Condition: Exceptional condition. Unrestored. Provenance: Ca Mau wreck. Salvaged 1998 and catalogued by the Vietnamese authorities. This is a hard to find Ca Mau ceramic with official excavation number and Ca Mau sticker. Indicating that it was legally removed and catalogued by the Vietnamese Authorities. Gorgeous Antique LOWESTOFT Chinese Export Porcelain HELMUT Style Pitcher Creamer
For sale is this fantastic Antique Chinese Export Porcelain LOWESTOFT Creamer/pitcher in a helmut design. What a gorgeous piece of antique pottery! The base has a diameter of 3" The creamer is almost 5" tall. It measures 6 1/2" from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle. I'm including a 7 1/2" plate that came with the creamer when I purchased it at auction. There are several manufacturer defects consistent with the time period. The glaze has several pinholes. The inside has quite a few dark specks from impurities and pinholes. The glaze on the plate has a rough finish. In general this is a fantastic example of antique pottery! Very good antique condition.
