Art nouveau style chocolate pot with a transfer print of a beautiful lady asleep in a tree with gilt beading and trim. The body of the pot has an iridized finish. The handle. Finial and spout are white with gold trim. Both cups have the same finish with the handles and interiors being white. There are no marks to indicate maker. There are continual curved panels that go all the way around. The gold gilding is great but does show minimal wear. Front and Back have Purple Flowers with Green Ferns and Leaves. It's 7.75" tall and 9" tall Cover on. It's 6.5" handle to spout 5.25" base diameter. It has Wonderful Color. Quality and Details. This is a vintage gold trimmed chocolate pot and 5 cups and saucers from R W Bavaria. I believe it is pre-World War II. The colors are vibrant the floral design is hand painted. The saucers are in excellent shape. The cups are in excellent shape except for 2 cups that have grazing issues. See photos for details.The gold is not worn on these cups or saucers. I believe someone made a slight indentation in 2 cups prior to firing of the glaze and the result is what happened to the cups.The saucers are 5" across and the cups are 2 1/2" across and 3" deep. The chocolate pot is 11" high and 7" across from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle.The chocolate pot is gold trimmed in great shape. The only problem with the chocolate pot is the lid. It skirts out at the bottom for that vintage look. It has floral bouquets on both sides in shades of purple lavender yellow pink an blue and green. We bought this gorgeous set from a 74 year old lady. She said that she inherited from her Mother and it had been in her Mother's house for as long as she could remember. She believed it dated back from the 30's or 40's. I will call it a Chocolate pot with 4 matching cups. I think you could also sip your favorite tea from it. All have a beautiful flowered design with a little lusterware color. Lid is in the lusterware color and matches some of the lusterware on the cups. Not sure if it is the original lid but it fits perfectly. Marking on the bottom of 3 of the 4 cups have a"J I B N W Y" triangular design and the word"Bavaria" The fourth cup reads"Made in Germany" with the number 45. The Chocolate pot has the same"J I B N W Y" triangular design and the number 1771-1. All coloring is in the ... morerust color on all of the pieces. All pieces are matching. I see NO nicks. Vintage Chocolate Pot w/ trees and house scene- hand painted
This Antique Chocolate Pot tells a story of a homestead in a forest. It is very elegant with lots of Gold Accents. The tree trunks come up the pot and the leaves go completely ring the top of the chocolate pot. Sitting back at a distance is a house with a pond surrounded by bushes with another small tree next to the house in the middle of the pot. The matching lid is a combination of the green.brown branches and Gold including a ring of gold buttons around edge of lid. The pot and lid stand 10 inches tall. cI suspect this is a Nippon Chocolate Pot and is marked on the bottom but it is unreadable because of age. Vintage Large Mother of Pearl Chocolate Pot
This is a beautiful vintage large mother of pearl chocolate pot. It has water lilies on a background of mother of pearl porcelain. There are gold accents overall. It is 8 3/4" tall and the base is 7" across from widest on base to handle. It is in very good condition except for small chips(2) inside the teapot lip. See last picture) Any questions. Please ask.
