The side is marked with the crown symbol for the city of Sheffield. The lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter n for the year 1905 and a maker's mark HA for Atkins Brothers. The underside of the lid is also marked with HA and the lion passant. This fine quality piece is in excellent condition. There is only the most minor surface wear and tiniest of dents. It is a ... morewonderful hot milk jug or chocolate pot. In dark cobalt blue, with a pewter lid. It has classic relief designs of ladies. Little children, and a laurel tree. A fantastic fruitful grapevine surrounds the top. The lid is removable and has a mechanism for opening the spout cover. Depress the white enameled plunger and the lid pops right up! A second white enameled finial tops the lid. The lid is marked beneath the flap with Martin's Patent Hanley. On removing the lid. You will see it is also marked with Martin Prov No.223438/99 Hanley. Please scroll down to see our photographs. The pitcher is marked underneath for Wedgwood. It was made before the requirement to show its country of origin. This dates the piece to the 1870s to 1880. So this is a genuinely an old pitcher. Please note. Regarding our photograph with the lid open showing the inside bottom of the jug which appears dark. The darkness is just a shadow. The picture following should clarify that the inside is glazed and clean. There is a dash of green paint near the bottom of the dress of the woman with the basket on her head. This should come off with a little paint remover and not harm the piece. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips. No cracks, and no other problems of any kind. LEUCHTENBURG Hot Chocolate Set. Pot and 5 cups. This set belonged to my great grandparents on my mothers side. My grandmother would have been born at the turn of the century 1900s. I am guessing this set would date 1880- 1920s? Condition as follows: Pot Good condition no apparent chips of crack some wear on the gold trim cup 1 no chips. Some wear on gold edge cup 2 one chip on lip. Wear on gold edge cup 3 and 4 two small chips on edge and worn gold edge cup 5 chip on lip with hairline crack starting bid is low reflecting condition of this.
