This crock stands 8" ... moretall by 5 1/2" across bottom. As I have highlighted in the photos. There are some condition issues; first is the Vertical Hairline on the backside that measures 5" tall. This runs into another hairline that runs horizontally along the base and measures about 6" This hairline Y's out at one end and stops at the other. There is also a 1 1/2" long chip at the base directly below decoration. This is very old as it is completely black like the underside is from being used. There is also some minor roughness around the inner rim(Very small) There are also 2 kiln pops on either side of the vertical hairline that I mentioned above. PLEASE View the photos closely and refer to them as the final authority in your valuation and condition assessment process. It is a putty color stoneware ... morewith a clean rich color inside. It is 9 1/2 inches tall. 5 3/4 inches across the top and 6 1/4 inches across the bottom. There is a slight hairline that starts at the rim and is hard to see, starts at top and is 2 1/2 inches long and is inside also. The other is what appears to be a glaze stress line on the back of the crock. As I have tried to show you in last two pics, this hairline or stress fracture starts 2- 3 inches from the top and spiders down like a lightening bolt, as you can see in last two photos, it is not inside the crock. It does reach to approx 2 inches from the bottom of the crock near where there is a chunk chip out of the bottom. Overall this crock is a great piece. These imperfections are not noticable. I didn't even see what Im calling a stress fracture to the glaze until just now. I list all imperfections because I want you to know what you are getting. I accept returns if you are not happy within 14 days of purchase, so contact me as soon as you receive our item. See pics. Nicely decorated. Original mid 1800s stoneware crock by Hamilton and Jones, Greesboro, PA as signed. this will look great displayed. I have up for sale a wonderful vintage Arts& Crafts style Zanesville Matte Green Art Pottery Umbrella stand. It has a very nice deep cucumber green glaze. Stands approx 22-1/2" and approx 10" diameter. It is unmarked but documented and authenticated as Zanesville Pottery. It would make for a perfect addition to any Mission or Arts& Crafts decor. It is in Very Good to Excellent Condition- I see no damages but there are a fair amount of glaze miss spots through out the piece. The past owner must have tried to cover a couple of these spots with some sort of dark green coloring- I cleaned most of the spots off as much as possible. This is fairly minor but noted. Antique,ceramic,London Chemist's toothpaste Jar crock pot lid
You are bidding on an antique. Ceramic, under-glaze-transferred L ONDON Chemist' s toothpaste container or"pot lid" as they are kn own. The lid was produced for the London Company of"Lewis& Burrows Ltd" which was located in New Oxford St. LONDO N. This particular design was used slightly later in the company's history.from 1900-1910. It feat ures the Co. monogram towards the bottom of the lid face. And a sprig of Areca nuts to the top of the face. The Areca nut(a Middle Eastern palm nut) was believed to have astringent and hygienic properties in this time period. And so was used in the preparation of the paste! The lid is in pretty good shape for over 100 years.just some very s mall areas of wear on the edges and a scratch line at about 9-10 o' clock which is not easily noticeable. The lid measures 2 5/8" ... morein diameter and the base is a good fit. Only the shade of it. Is a little more creamy than the lid, but not a big deal. Overall a nice little memento of pharmaceutical history! Whether you call this a Cream Jar. Crock or Planter, one thing is for sure: this is a monumental 19thC. piece of Redware! Unmarked, but having a capacity of 4Gal. this extra-large Jar will be at home in any Antique Stoneware collection. This is a well-made piece by a highly skilled artisan; probably a Pennsylvania pottery, ca.1860 or earlier. The Semi-Ovoid form is topped with a slightly-squared lip profile. The exterior is unglazed, with age-appropriate wear and typical imperfections throughout. The Lead-Glazed interior is superb! Very reminiscent of Redware Cream Jars created by the Bell Family, with a slightly narrower lip profile. Please see photos for details and consider them as part of the description. Beautiful cobalt decorated stoneware crock. It has fabulous decoration which looks like leaves on a vine. It also looks like hearts. It is marked on the front and I believe it to say West Troy Pottery. It measures 7.5 tall and 8 inches across the top. It has a couple of OLD chips on the front and a couple of very small flea bites on one ear. There is also a tight crack on one side. There are lots pf pictures. None of this distracts from the appearance. This stoneware crock is not in mint condition so if you are wanting mint please don't bid. This is an old utilitarian piece and used as such. Up for auction is an Antique New York Stoneware Deep Blue Flower Design 4 Gallon Crock. The New York Stoneware Co and the number 4 is impressed. The flower design is a very dark cobalt blue. Each side has an applied elephant ear handle. Circa: 1859- 1885. Fort Edward. NY) Measurements: 11 1/4" tall. 11 1/2" in diameter at the top. Base 11" in diameter. Floral decoration is about 5" wide X 6" tall. The blue floral decoration has dots and circles. Condition: This crock is being sold AS IS. This is a solid crock but it has issues. Large Blue decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color but has a chip at the top branch. Shown in picture 2. There is a large chip at the rim above the ear handle, picture 8. The same ear handle has a chip underneath the handle, shown in the same picture. On the outside, there is a spider ... morehairline that starts on the bottom and runs up the side, see close-up picture in picture 5, 10& 11. I would not trust this crock to hold water. There is one small chip in the dark brown glaze on the inside, last picture. Picture 5 shows a raised dark spot on the outside which appears to be from the manufacturing process. See all pictures. Vintage IDEAL SANITARY WATER BOWL Model "B" Morristown, Minn - Red Wing Pottery?
Here we have an Ideal Sanitary Water Bowl– there seems to be some controversy over how these were TRULY used back in the day- they were used either in farming as animal waterers or as drinking fountains in parks- either use sounds legitimate enough. And perhaps BOTH cases are in fact true. There are two holes through the back of the crock into which water faucets could be installed. And there is one drain hole in the bottom- we've seen some of these plugged with an old cork, but this one doesn't have one. According to the markings. These were made by Ideal Equipment Company, but my research seems to indicate that they were really made by Red Wing Pottery FOR Ideal, though I cannot verify or confirm this information. They do NOT have a Red Wing mark or stamp on them anywhere that I can find, though. The Ideal sanitary water bowl IS ... moremarked as follows: IDEAL SANITARY WATER BOWL F. H. AHLMAN’S PATENT MODEL“B” MANUFACTURED BY THE IDEAL EQUIPMENT CO MORRISTOWN. MINN. This one has a few hairline cracks in it. And there is some chipping as well. It seems nearly all of these that were actually used got chipped by one or both of the water faucet holes. See photos for details. The crock measures 11” across from side to side and 11 ¼” from front to back(the front being where the blue stamp is. And the back being where the two water holes enter the bowl) It measures 4 ½” tall, and weighs a few ounces shy of 17 pounds. The item will be VERY carefully packed, and the package WILL be insured for shipment, as well. The water faucet holes are 2 ¾” on center(outside to outside edge of the water holes measures 3 ¼” All of the other MODEL“B” waterers I’ve seen of this type are a LITTLE bit smaller– I’m not sure if there could just be that much variation among them. Or if there were actually subtly different size variations of these water bowls. This would make a nice addition to a collection. You'll see that this cooler has an all-metal interior and all-metal spigot dispenser. This is the earlier version. As the later issue coolers had a plastic interior and plastic push-button spigot. There's a small tri-angle shaped hole on the outside of the piece as you can see in the pics. This hole only pierces the exterior metal and does not go completely thru to the inside. We can't recall seeing this very charming mark before, and can't seem to find any record of stoneware being sold with this mark, so we're guessing it's at least very scarce if not quite rare. Probably dates to the late 1800's, we're also guessing. We're also not sure, but believe this is either from Mansfield, Ohio or Mansfield, Massachusetts. We invite emails with further information that we can add to this listing. Nicely decorated with a cobalt feather like design below the cobalt washed merchant stamp. And a stamped"2" for a 2 gallon crock above it. Measures about 8 and 3/4 inches tall and 9 and ... more1/2 inches across. There is a crack that begins at the top edge left of the decoration and ends on the base as can be seen in the photos. Otherwise, it appears to be in surprisingly good shape. The only other flaws are in the making glaze pops as can be seen in the photos, one just above the g in general(with a bit of cobalt glaze over it) and then there's one on the interior and two on the back side(each about 1/4 inch across) and some minor imperfections, scratches and wear as to be expected with a utilitarian stoneware piece. Antique Vintage Salt Glaze Brown Crock Jar 1 1/2 QT Wax Seal
Up for bid is a antique brown crock salt glaze jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the 1800's. This jar is 1 1/2 qt. capacity. Stands 7" tall and is 3 1/2" across. You couldn't ask for a nicer piece for it's age as it has one small chip and wear along the rim and another chip on the side, each about 1/5" and some glaze is missing at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks or other chips. This would be a great addition to a collection. Please take a minute and look at my other listings which are varied and different. Stoneware is made of gray and tan clays fired to a high temperature. As there were few American producers prior to 1800, most existing antique stoneware crocks date from the 19th century. Up for bid is an Early. Stoneware Whiskey Crock Jug. The jug measures 11- 1/2 inches tall. And the base is 6-3/4 inches in diameter. Due to age and use there are some imperfections. There is a chip in the top(picture#8) lots of crazing, and some manufacturer imperfections(picture#4 and 5) There are also some cracks at the base of the jug(picture#3) but the cracks do not compromise the integrity of the jug. Antique Brown and White Moonshine Crock Jug
This is an antique white and brown cone top crock jug. It measure 11 inches tall and 6 ¼ inches across the bottom. Areas of the dark brown cone looks like it has been salted. There is one small chip on the neck of the jar otherwise it is good condition. The cork is not original to the jug. It does not have any cracks or repairs. This jug is very heavy and weighs 6 pounds. Up for auction today is a rare Red Wing Salt Gla zed Crock 4 gallon Bee sting mark Absolutely wonderful for this p ie ce being over 100 years old. Made be tween 1877-1 897-has the bee sting or to rnado sty le mark with hand pressed or hand molded handles(elephant ear-I think is what they call that) Red Wing stop ped using the Salt Glaze Process in 1897. So this dates before that. One handle is broken-more like chipped- as shown in the pictures. Other than that. The molted or dimpled glazing is in g reat condition with some marks. As can be seen. There is a white mark that is shown in the pictures-th at is the remains of the sticker from the ant ique store we are closing. Easily can be removed. Other than the handle. Antique 1800s C&B Skey Pottery Tamworth Oyster Jar Stoneware Crock England This is an antique stoneware oyster jar made by the George Skey Pottery Tamworth. England, in the late 1800s(1870s 1880s) It is 6.75 inches tall and is pale gray on the bottom and light brown on the top. It bears the Tamworth oval mark and the C& B triangle with square mark. It is in very good condition with no overt damage. There are some black marks or residue on bottom and there is a small chip on bottom edge which appears it could have been a manufacturing defect—I mention only for completeness I do combine shipping to save you money on multiple items.

The crock is decorated in cobalt blue of a bird and above the bird in incised letters is Flock& Van Arsdale Cornwall Ontario. The crock measures 10 7/8" high with an 8 7/8" top diameter. 9 1/4" wide. This stoneware crock is in great condition besides a tight crack that runs approximately 3 1/4" from the top down and 2 7/8" across the top rim. Shown in our last 2 photos. Antique Stoneware, Salt-Glazed Brown Crock, Catawba Valley, Carolina Primitive
Exceptional quality. Small alkaline or salt glazed, primitive antique crock. 6 1/4 inches high, about 3 inch top diameter, about 4 1/4 inch bottom diameter. Looks to be just under 5 inches around(diameter) in the middle. Nice luster, looks different in every kind of light. Glaze is nicely variegated- study photos to get the feel and look of this relatively heavy piece(for its size) Does not appear to be missing a lid- the way the opening was made, I do not believe this ever had a lid, at least not a ceramic one that would have been incorporated into the clay design when the piece was hand thrown. Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. Not much wear given its age- glaze has rubbed off in a few small spots ... morearound the rim(see photo) but no serious chips or cracks. Bottom is unmarked. All sales are final- no returns. HALL Vintage Bean Stoneware w/ Lid & Heat Guard NICE!
Unusual. Clean, Nice! A very charming but totally usable stoneware solid-glazed casserole or bean pot. Marked HALL in a circle on the bottom of the dish. This can go from oven to table using the metal pierced heat guard that will protect you& your table. The bowl& lid measure 7" diameter& is 3" deep. Holds approximately 5-6 cups and is deep brown(almost back! with the lid topped with a white handle which really adds to its unique appeal. The lid appears to be all one piece and both the dish& bowl have very minimal markings on the inside of the rims. The outer finish is in excellent condition with a great luster. I think the heat guard/ring is actually chrome and can be cleaned up to its original shine. I did use a bit of silver cleaner on it and the shine started to come back but my cleaner is not the correct type ... moreto use. No chips.
