This is for a fabulous and very clean old Victorian cut glass storage box with its sterling silver lid from 1849. The lid has a very intricate and nicely engraved design and the silver is pierced. It is a beautiful quality made example. The silver is really crisp and clean, totally unused and as good as you will find. The silver carries a full set of English Sterling silver hallmarks that date it to London 1849 along with a makers mark TD for Thomas Diller. This is for a lovely Victorian antique solid silver lidded vanity pot/jar. The lid is hallmarked for London 1889 and it has a makers mark of TJW for Thomas James Watson. It measures 3.75" in height and 2.62 across. There are no splits or holes in the silver but it has some dents. The silver weighs 14.3g. The top has been engraved with decoration. Vacant cartouche on the top. No monograms. There is a crack to the glass and it looks like it has been glued in again. There are also some chips in the glass. It is quite a heavy piece altogether.
