The designs include classic urns and columns separating floral and leaf motifs and there is a flower basket design on the lid. The box is marked"RFC Sterling" on the bottom. Small oval in shape with a fine decorative rim on the lid and base.it has LOST its hinged grill. Hallmarked inside with a lion for Sterling silver. The makers mark is TW which is probably for the Birmingham Silversmith Thomas Willmore. And the letter b, dates it to 1799. It still retains its gilt interior. But as you can see the hinged grill is missing along with the sponge. It measures approx 34mm x 26mm x 14mm. It weighs 13.3 grams. In nice condition with some age and use wear. Old OVAL Pill Box STERLING SILVER Lilac GUILLAUCHE ENAMEL White Trim (Mark ?)

This Lovely Little Oval Sterling Silver and Lilac or Lavender Guilloche Enamel Pill Box has been in my family for as long as I can remember. My Dad had an Antiques Shop in New York City many years ago so I would imagine it was an item he purchased at one of the many NYC auction galleries he had frequented back then. Probably in the 1930s to 1940s. The Lid measures about 1 7/8" from left to right; the base measures about 1 5/8" from left to right. It is about 1/2" Tall. I have photographed the marks to the very best of my ability. Since I do not really have much knowledge about marks. I'll leave ... moreit to you to decide. To the best of my understanding, the Anchor mark seems to indicate this was a Birmingham piece. The maker initials of L S or L& S might be L. Spiers or maybe Levi& Salaman? I also think the letter"K" refers to the date but I'm not really sure so again, I'll leave it to you, the experienced Silver Collector, to determine precisely. If anyone reading this would like to clarify the mark. I'd really love to hear from you. As you can see from the photos. There is a tiny damage on one of the white"tiles" at the very edge of the oval at one side. There is very minor surface wear on the lavender- more like faint scratches; In addition, it could a good professional polishing.
