It is in excellent condition and closes well and has a fine engraved design on the exterior and a very light gold washed interior. This is a fine quality box with no dents a few very small dings and a very light name engraved on the front. This is a nice usable piece of silver and great for trinkets or gifts or chocolate. This is made of 812 fine silver. American sterling silver is 925 so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions. Made in a very attractive bulbous, fluted design, this etrog box stand on four ornate feet. The lid has a flower finial and the inside shows the slightest remains of gold wash. The box is fully hallmarked underneath with the.900 standard Dianakopf(Diana head) letter B for city of Linz and makers initials of L.M. The date 1863, and the maker’s mark TS. It has been beautifully made having the sides and base engine turned. Superb Austrian sterling silver and guilloche enamel oval box. Made in Vienna circa 1850. This is a very beautiful large oval box in the classic French/ Swiss Regency style. The box is oval in shape with straight sides. The lid of the box has superb lilac guilloche enamel to the centre within white enamel borders and a band of chased green and light blue enamel leaves and flowers against a dark textured background. The sides of the box have superb lilac enamel panels within white enamel borders and four chased trees with green and red enamel leaves and flowers against a matching dark textured background. The underside of the box is engine turned. The lid is hinged and the inside of the box is gilded. The box is large. It is 3-3/8 inches/ 86 mm wide and 2-3/8 inches/ 60 mm deep. Century tapestries in Paris. Musee Cluny, Lady With Unicorn" These tapestries were woven in honor of a great ladies wedding, the unicorn representing the animal out of her coat of arms the lion the one of her husbands Quality constructed. ANTIQUE AUSTRIAN 1800 GUILLOCHE BLUE AND WHITE ENAMEL STERLING SILVER SNUFF BOX
Up for auction is a beautiful Austrian rectangular shaped sterling silver and blue Guilloche highly lustrous enamel snuff box from the 1800's. The blue Guilloche enamel design continues all around the bottom half of the box and the bottom has a wonderful engine turned design and texture. On the top cover is a thin white enamel line applied in between 2 silver textured boarders. The outside boarder has dotted indentations which add another delicate detail. The inside of the box has a gold gilded interior with a makers mark 1. possibly the marking was not completed. On the inside top which you can see in the photograph has the number 935. On the top of the lid is silver which I believe to be sterling silver. Measurements 2 7/8 inches long1/2 inch high. and 1 1/4 inches wide. Weight 77.9 grams. There is a small spot of enamel loss pictured ... morein the photograph. Unfortunately the photo gives it a black elusion instead of the silver showing through.
