A beautiful antique jewellery box in deep red leather top is adorned with a sterling sliver plaque which is deplicting cherubs. Flowers and leaves and really is very pretty.It is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1903 and makers of WJ Myatt& co.It has a reg no of R9417910. The silver mount measures approx 18cm.The silver is in very good condition with no major damage only a minor ding.The pictures show what super condition it is in.The lock also has a mounted flower adourning it which is also sterling silver. A really delightful late Victorian sterling silver box. A good solid example made from a good gauge of silver by the highly sought-after silversmith Deakin& Francis. The lid is beautifully decorated with a repousse or embossed scene featuring three charming winged Cherub or Putti figures in a garden setting. The lid fits well and once opened, reveals a lavishly gilded interior and the base lined in a cream silk. The underside is where the full hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1901. Sterling Silver Letter Box Cherubs/Birds/Owls, Silk/Leather ~ Chester circa 1898
This fabulous Victorian sterling silver letter box was manufactured by John& William Deakin in Chester. England circa 1898. Photographing the hallmarks proved impossible as they are inconspicuously imbedded in the extremely ornate sterling, however, I will place post-it notes with arrows pointing to the markings prior to shipping so that the winning bidder can easily find them. I have included illustrated images of the markings for the maker and the year in the photos for this listing. The sterling is extraordinarily beautiful with images of cherubs, birds, flowers, scrolls, an owl, and a squirrel. There is a badge in the center of the upper portion which would accommodate a monogram should one so desire to have one added. There is currently no monogram, but there are a couple of very minor dings in the badge. The box does have a keyhole ... moreand a locking mechanism, but I do not have the original key. It takes a skeleton type key, so it should not be difficult to find one. The box itself is made of wood. The wood is exposed on the bottom and is covered in a black material that appears to be leather on the sides and interior. There appears to be a section of the black material that has come off but it is glossy black underneath and does not stand out in dramatic fashion. The interior of the lid is lined in a beautiful salmon colored silk material. The locking mechanism and hinge are also silver. The box measures 12 1/2" wide. 7 1/2" tall, and 5 7/8" deep. Victorian Large Sterling Silver Table Box Cherubs Hanau Style
A really pretty table box made by Thomas hayes and hallmarked for Birmingham 1897(late Victorian) It is incredibly stylish with a hanau continental inspired panel depicting cherub drinking wine from a barrel. The hallmark also has the sought after love heart shaped makers stamp which is collectable in its own right. The box is a good size and fits snugly into the palm of the hand. I believe this would have been more likely used for jewellery, pins and other adies objects on a dressing table as its too large for a snuff. There are sadly several piercings from polishing over the years as is common on repousse boxes, it is not ideal but is a sade reality of these style of pieces with the majority of them being like this. Weighs a couple of ounces but too pretty to scrap. Measures 10 cms at its widest point.

This is a very fine quality silver tobacco box made in the reign of King George I in London circa 1725. Almost 300 years ago. The box is rectangular in shape with straight sides with reeded decoration to the top and bottom rims. The lid of the box has superb and fine chased decoration with musicians. Winged cherubs, jesters, flowers and garlands against a textured background. The lid is hinged and the inside of the box is gilded. The box is unmarked. The all over repousse decoration features scenes of cherubs all around the body(one is walking a dog. Others are working) The lid has a group of men with weapons. It dates to 1908 or earlier. It bears the lion w/key mark indicating a minimum of.934 purity silver and that it was made for export. Pl ease excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: It measures approximately 3 inches high by just under 3.5 inches in diameter. The weight is approximately 140 grams. CONDITION: There is a hard to see tiny separation in the silver on the top of the lid. Other than that it has no damage or repairs. Please see the close up pictures. Charming Sterling Silver Box In The Form of a Bureau - Cherubs - 1898
A charming late Victorian box in the form of a tiny little bureau or chest of drawers. The box is beautifully decorated with all over embossed decoration incorporating a pair of Cherubs on the top. The hinged lid fits perfectly and once opened reveals a gilded interior with the bottom of the box with another embossed or repousse scene of Cherubs or Putti figures. Superb large French sterling silver and enamel round box. Made in France circa 1890. This is a beautiful and very fine quality large round lidded box. The box has a domed lid with a raised centre with finely chased leaves and ribbons against a textured background with a band of green enamel to the edge. The rim of the lid has finely chased leaves within green enamel. The sides of the box have superb high relief chased scenes with winged cherubs. Cupid with bow and arrow, a charriot pulled by goats, musicians and flags. The lid of the box is hinged. The box is 4-3/8 inches/ 110 mm in diametre and it stands 1-7/8 inches/ 48 mm high. Made of thick gauge silver. It weighs a huge 324 grams. The box has clear French head hallmark and maker's mark JP. The box is in excellent condition with no dents. Damage or repair.
