It has a velvet interior and push on lid. It has Chinese silver marked and also marked 90 with makers mark for the well regarded Wang Hing. 3.3" diameter and 2.8" high. Gross weight is 170g and silver weight 79g. The silver is in very good condition. The velvet may have been replaced at some time and it shows signs of wear. I have up for auction this very nice quality FOOTED STERLING SILVER TRINKET/ JEWELLERY BOX.BIRMINGHAM. The box has a sun like disign on the top with a rope like design around the edges. The box has a hallmark of the anchor lion and d. I can not make out the makers mark. The box measures 4.5"W x 4.5"L x 2.25"H weighing 423.8 gms with the liner and bottom 218.4 gms of sterling silver with out the liner and bottom. There is a couple of tiny dents on the sides and one crease on one side shown in the 3rd pic. in middle of the side just under the lid. Minor for its age and still looks stunning. Antique hallmarked silver Trinket/Jewellery/Ring Box This gorgeous box is made from sterling silver and stands on 3 feet. The lid has beading around the edge and a ribbon and laurel wreath in relief to the centre. And the interior is lined with beige coloured silk. It is very clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1912 with the maker’s mark of the high quality silversmith, William Hutton& Sons. This piece is in excellent condition with only one very light dint to the lid that I can find. Please be aware that it is 101 years old so there will be tiny surface abrasions caused through use and cleaning. The silk inside shows no signs of wear although it is slightly grubby. The leather to the underside has some slight discolouration caused through silver polish. This is a beautiful silver jewellery/trinket/card box. Dated 1967, with cedar lining and engine turned unengraved cartouche decoration to the top. It's a truely superb piece of workmanship. Fully hallmarked, you can just make out the date letter S for 1967, assay stamps J R for John Rose, the anchor mark for Birmingham, with the lion passant. Measures 6.5 inches wide. 3.5 inches deep and 2.25 inches tall, it is stamped'REAL EBONY' to the base. This is an antique Victorian silver box. To hold small pieces of jewellery probably as the base is covered internally to protect what goes in from touching the metal. There is a makers mark. And a letter h in old font.abit like London 1863 h mark. but also a mans head stamp just above the hinge, so I believe this box is Dutch made and imported into England. It may have started life as a SNUFF BOX and later has had the blue velvet like material put inside. In feint engraving on the underside of the lid. Is the name A. H. Ruiter, 1867. This box measures approx 2 inches x 2 inches x 3/4 inch. In fair condition. Lots of wear, and dints, and the top engraving has worn through the ... morelid creating splits. Pristine Victorian ebony wood jewelery/trinket box with silver embellishment and its original purple velvet lining. Has a little silver button to press and open the box. To reveal the compartments. Arts& Crafts hammered Silver Box This beautiful little box is made from sterling silver and has a hammered(planished) lid with a vacant oval cartouche to the centre. It stands on four paw feet with blue velvet lining to the interior and light gilding to the inside of the lid. It is clearly hallmarked for the highly collected silver centre of Chester with the date mark of 1907 and the maker’s mark of Henry Matthews. This box is in lovely condition. Especially considering its fragility and age. There is no damage to the lid, the hinges work perfectly and the lid closes securely. To the sides, there are three light bruises which aren’t highly noticeable and there is some crimping to silver on the underside. The front, left-hand leg appears to have suffered a knock at some stage as there is a light bruise surrounding the joint where it is ... moreconnected to the main body. Trinket or Ring Box measures approximately 2 3/8 inches or 61 mm across the width or diameter of its lid from side to side and it stands just under 1 5/8 inches or 41 mm tall to the top of its lid. The box is made from sterling silver that was once completely gilded or gold plated in a circular shape that stands on three shaped raised relief decorated legs. The box has a three section piano hinged lid that has been internally gilded or gold plated and the top of its lid has been wonderfully decorated with blue guilloche enamel, the inside of the body has a pale brown velvet lining and the box has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram, the underside of the body has a pale brown velvet inset ... morepanel and the side of the boxes body and lid have been impressed with English sterling silver hallmarks that read as follows, A C- Anchor- Lion Passant- B A C is the Birmingham silversmith or makers mark of Albert Carter. The Anchor is the mark of the Birmingham assay office, the Lion Passant is the mark of English 925 standard sterling silver and the letter B is the date letter for 1926. The condition is used and near Mint for its age. The Guilloche Enamel is in Mint Condition with No Chips. No Cracks and No Surface Scratches. The box has No Dents. No Splits, No Cracks and No Holes and the box has No Repairs that I can find, the box stands straight, the hinge is working perfectly, the lid opens with ease and closes tightly, the definition and decoration is very crisp, the internal lining is in mint condition with no splits and no tares, the silver hallmarks are rubbed or worn but still partially legible although as the box is a used antique the external gilding is very worn and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, the box has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. Art Deco Style Silver-coloured Trinket/jewellery box
I wasn't too sure which category to select for this item. It is in the Art Deco style but I don't think it has great age. There is a label on the base which reads'Past-times' and'Made in India' The top lid lifts off completely. Hopefully photograph will show the decoration on top of the lid and all around the centre of the box. It is in very good condition- just a few very light scratches on top- which can be seen in the photograph. Inside does show signs of use- but I have not attempted to remove these signs- I think it is tarnish on the material and perhaps does show a bit of age. Measurement = 6 x 3 1/4 inches. Some faint scratches and one very small bruise. All barely visible. Crystal clear. Small loss of crystal at bottom edge. Fully and clearly hallmarked for London 1932 and with the maker's mark of Charles Henry Dumenil. Approximate dimensions: 9.5cm x 6.5cm x 3.5cm high. Vintage hallmarked Silver-mounted leather clad Jewellery / Trinket Box - 1986
Vintage hallmarked Silver mounted Box This gorgeous box is mounted with Britannia silver(the highest grade of silver used in the UK and purer than sterling) which is exquisitely decorated in the flowing Art Nouveau manner with scrolls and wings surrounding three cherub faces. It is hallmarked for London 1986 with the maker’s mark RBB. The shaped box is covered in dark green leather and the interior appears to the lined with calfskin(I believe both are leather but they may be synthetic materials) The piece is in wonderful condition and looks as if it has never been used. There is no damage that I can find to this piece with the exception of a fine. Circular area on one side where the green dye has worn away– please see the photo below. Antique Russian silver tea caddy hallmarked 88 460g jewellery /trinket box
this beautiful tea caddy/ trinket box is Russian silver hallmarked 88 it belonged to my grandmother and I have been told that zolotniki sometimes used 88 on higher quality work than 84 which is the most common russian silver hallmark used in 19th century Russia it is patterned with a swirl design and the ball feet have horses with wings(I think they are horses) it weighs 460g it is 12cm wide by 12cm high by 9cm depth I have not cleaned it as I was told it would loose from its value.it is a lovely design looks like a louis x french style shape. Quite unusual.hopefully to go to a good home to someone who will appreciate it!

1918 Antique Jewellery Jewelry Tortoise Trinket Ring Box English Sterling Silver
This lovely antique sterling silver and tortoiseshell jewellery or ring box was made by Deakin& Francis and hallmarked in Birmingham 1918. It is in very good condition with no damage to silver or tortoiseshell. The shell lid has an oval inlaid silver decoration and the rim is attractively decorated with scrolls. The lid fits tightly and the interior is velvet lined. Hallmarks are clearly struck and the box has an inscription. It stands firmly on 4 cabriole legs. Overall a beautiful box from these well known Birmingham silversmiths. Antique Solid Silver Trinket / Jewellery Box, Hallmarked Birmingham, maker F&S.
Antique solid silver trinket/ Jewellery box. Hallmarked Birmingham and the letter mark looks like 1912/1913, which would make it Art Nouveau period. The maker's mark says F&S. The box has a hinged lid with the initial H in the centre with a design of some sort in the middle of the letter. There is a pattern embossed all around the lid, and the box is on four cabriole legs, all of this design makes it look very decorative and like a small item of furniture in miniature. The hinge on the lid is still good and it closes flat. But the lid has some small dents, which could possibly be smoothed out. Underneath there is a base that is not silver and is slightly weighted and this has some extensive wear. There is also some wear to the lining around the edges to the material inside the lid, in front, please see photographs. The sides and legs ... moreof the box are in good condition. The box weighs 183.9 grams including weighted base and measures 9.9 cm width and 7.6 cm length. Depth of box 2.4 cm. Depth( height) with legs 4 cm. This would have been used on various occasions for things like- dressing table for rings etc. Or used as a pill/snuff box. This jar is a little bit special due to the fact it was produced during WW1 making it a rare item. Was made by the Silversmiths company: William Devenport in 1915 who were based in Birmingham.
