Description This is a wonderful example of an Antique German 800 standard silver repousse Victorian jewelry casket. This casket sits on four claw feet making this piece an exceptional find. It is designed with a beautiful high relief Victorian scenes along with climbing. Trailing wild rose blooms, scrolling leaf shapes, Garland Swags, etc. This top of this casket shows a scene with a man on his knee holding a woman’s arm. Delightful solid silver glass vanity casket with a Birmingham Hallmark of 1830. The maker stamp in a cartouche looks to be NBRS. But is not distinctive enought to fully identify. Possibly a dressing table piece of an early Victorian lady. Slight dent on the lid, but in remarkable condition for its great age. Likewise, the glass case has, remarkably, remained intact. Rectangular in form, with a hinged lid, on four scroll supports. The lid and sides are decorated with repousse and chased technique, the lid depicts a high relief scene of two figures, with a man holding a hunting bow and a lady holding a cup, two animals and trees, within a scroll cartouche, on a ground of foliate scrolls, within a lotus leaf border. This is a lovely Chinese silver jewellery box made by an unascribed Shanghai maker(maker's mark KH) circa 1910. The box is rectangular in shape with straight sides and standing on four corner feet. The lid of the box has superb chased dragons in the clouds. The lid of the box is hinged and the inside of the box has blue velvet lining. The box is 3-1/2 inches/ 89 mm wide and 2-1/2 inches/ 63 mm deep. It stands 2-1/4 inches/ 57 mm high and weighs 172 grams. The underside of the box has clear Chinese hallmarks and maker's mark KH. Gould& Co of Birmingham, England, this little box has 4 dainty feet, a rounded top which was originally covered with purple velvet, now worn but still intact. The inside is lined in beige silk framed in beige cord and purple velvet. The bottom was originally cover with cloth which is now worn away. This could easily be replaced. The box is in good condition with no breaks or dents. There is minor surface wear to the silver in addition to the fabric wear mentioned above. A fine and rare little jewelry box 106 years old. Exquisite antique Victorian German Hanau sterling silver jewelry casket by George Roth circa turn of the 20th century. Large. Footed box features an allover heavy repoussé figural motif. Framed vignettes of romantic couples reading and playing musical instruments. On the lid, a man is courting a lady with a small bird in his hand. There are flower baskets, cupid and putti statues, a water fountain, etc. Interior bottom is lined in emerald green silk velvet and lid is lined with a blue silk cushion for hat pins or brooches. Signature on bottom. In very nice condition overall with minor signs of age. One of the back feet is not original, locking mechanism has been removed, light soiling and age to the silk. Hand made from a high purity solid silver it features all over hand chased scroll work and hammer work which can be identified as the work of Sudanese silversmiths. It has a rather tired velvet interior. The lid has a naive hand chased dedication reading. Capt B. Raven 59 C Hospital, Gebeit RAMC' Gebeit(or Jubayt) is a small town near to the Red sea in eastern Sudan. The RAMC stands for the Royal Army Medical School. The RAMC first served in the Sudan in 1898. It's large and beautifully proportioned at 131mm x 87mm x 49mm. It is very heavy at 314g or 11.1oz. Vimtage German Silver Casket Shaped Cigarette Box This gorgeous box has a silver body in the form of a casket and a wooden lining. It has the German assay and silver mark‘800’ a slightly lower grade of silver than sterling‘925’ with the maker’s mark of Hermann Bauer. The base is covered in a black material. Although this box still looks beautiful and is fully usable. It has suffered some damage over the years. There are two small bruises to the lid(one to the front and one to the back) and another very light one. The front panel has two noticeable 1 cm long bruises, there is a small dint to one side panel and two small dints to the back panel. The other side panel has a noticeable 2 cm bruise and there is a split to the front left-hand edge of the lid. To the underside, the covering on the base has become quite bubbled. Omar Ramsden, in London 1935. The box is rectangular in shape with superb chased mounts and twisted rope to the inside of the base. The lid of the box is hinged and the side of the lid has a wood panel with finely chased borders. The inside rim of the base of the box is also chased with a band of leaf motif and is lined with green velvet. The underside of the box is silver. The box is 4-5/8 inches/ 117 mm wide and 2-3/4 inches/ 70 mm deep. It stands 1-5/8 inches/ 41 mm high and weighs 416 grams. The box has clear hallmarks- lion passant. Antique European Sterling Silver Etui Perfume Scent Bottle Box Casket 1790
A fine antique European. Sterling Silver Etui Box from the 18th century, about 1790 or earlier. The original fitted contents, likely two small perfume scent bottles are missing. There are no makers hallmarks that we can find. The spring button is mounted with a Cats Eye gem. The interior shows remains of being Gilded. The lid contains a Silk velvet lining in distressed condition. It is beautifully engraved, the baroque musical instruments to the lid and the stylised Corinthian column corners. The catch is worn, in that it does not firmly hold the lid shut as it once must have done. The box measures 2 1/4 ins tall x 2 1/4 ins wide x 1 1/2 ins deep. WILLIAM COMYNS SILVER JEWELLERY BOX/CASKET REYNOLDS ANGELS LONDON 1904- 595g Hello and thanks for stopping by. Here we have a Sterling Silver Jewellery Box Casket. Hallmarked: London 1904. Maker: W.C for William Comyns. This rather large Box of Casket form was made by one of the finest Victorian Silversmiths. Beautiful repouse work of the Famous'Reynolds Angels' decorate the whole Box. In wonderful condition with only very minor wear to the Silver. The interior of the Box is lined with a Pale Green Silk which does has some obvious marks. The base has been covered with a green baize. Which i feel is a replacement but a good job was done. It's lovely that the original key has stayed with the Box. Although a little temperamental it still works well. The lid opens and closes well and the hinge is in good working order. Fully Hallmarked ... moreto the base and lid. Condition is excellent for the age and no damage to report. Just general wear. Weighing in at approx: 595 grams. Measurements: 203 mm wide or 8 inches. 165 mm deep or 6 1/2 inches. 83 mm high or 3 1/4 inches. Ref: 993. I try and gather a wide range of items to suit everyone's taste.
