A charming and unusual Victorian solid silver tobacco box or table snuff box. Fully hallmarked to lid and base for 1895 by good London makers Walter& John Barnard. Features elegant repousse work to the lid depicting two cherubs raising a child in their arms in a naturalistic setting of trees and foliage. It is of a rather unusual and tactile shape with gilded interior. In terms of condition. There is a bruise to the rim as pictured and minor shallow dints at the base. An exceptional early 19th century Silver-gilt Pedlar Snuff box. Oval in form the hinged cover boldly chased with a wine pedlar and his wares within a camp with trees. Tents, peasants and a building on the left, on a frosted ground. The hinged cover with the pedlar in high relief, the base and sides with finely chased foliate scroll and cherub decoration, Measures in length 10cm. And weighs 6.8oz. With cancelled marks. And marked with London Assay Office case number 8905. The base of the box was altered most probably around 1840 with the finely chased foliate scroll and cherub decoration. A stunning good sized very picture top silver snuff box. It is hallmarked with an 800 standard mark only. It tests as high grade silver. It would have been produced in either the Netherlands or Hanau Germny c1890. It has been beautifully designed having a cast lid depicting a highly detailed tavern scene and scroll and flower decorated sides. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The inside is clean and the lid forms a good tight seal. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE LARGE SOLID STERLING SILVER TABLE SNUFF BOX IN REPOUSSE SILVER ART NOUVEAU STYLE EDWARDIAN ERA- BY RENOWNED SILVERSMITH HENRY MATTHEWS HALLMARK BIRMINGHAM 1903 This is a gorgeous example of a large antique table snuff box in solid English sterling silver. The entire box is beautifully decorated in repousse silver in a typical Art Nouveau style pattern of swirling acanthus leaves and flowers within a wavy gadroon border. The pattern surrounds a cartouche with a pair of initials in an attractive italic. It stands on a plain raised base and has a gilt-lined interior. This fabulous piece was crafted by the renowned silversmith Henry Matthews at the beginning of the Edwardian era in 1903. It is in very good condition overall- the photographs do not do this box of antique silver justice. It could be used as a very pretty little ... morejewellery or trinket box. HALLMARKS: The full English solid sterling silver hallmarks are crisp and clear on the base of the box. They are: HM” in two squares for Henry Matthews; the Anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office; the lion passant denoting solid English silver; the letter“d” for the year 1903. On the inside lip of the lid there are further hallmarks of the lion passant and the letter“d” to show that lid and base are matched and original. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS/WEIGHT: Length– 10cm at the longest; width– 3.7cm at its widest; depth– 3cm including lid and base. It weighs about 72g. CONDITION: The condition overall is very good. Superb Early Victorian Hallmarked Solid Sterling Table Snuff Box Made By The Renowned Silversmith Nathaniel Mills Description- Splendid Nathaniel Mills good gauge solid silver rectangular table snuff box with hinged lid and cast and applied floral thumb piece. The box the lid and base has been beautifully hand engraved with a scroll foliate pattern, the box has curved reeded sides, the lid has a central cartouche with the engraved inscription"TO Thomas Souter Esquire FROM HIS AFFECTIONATE NEICES& NEPHEWS West Lohonia(looks like? 1869 The box is fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham assay. The lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the Queens's head, the date letter"E" for the year 1853 and the maker's mark"N.M" which is Nathaniel Mills. Condition- There is a small hairline split ... moreon the corner of the lid and a small split on the rear corner where some repair work has been undertaken and the interior may have been re- gilded. There is some light bruising to the base. However, this does not detract from the quality of this highly collectible and admirable snuff box, the hinge is in perfect working order and the engraving is crisp, sharp and clear with no rubbing or wear. Antique Swedish Solid Silver Gilt Engrave Decorated Trinket or Snuff Box from Örebro dated 1855 This Antique Trinket or Snuff Box measures approximately 2 3/8 inches or 62 mm across the width or diameter of its body from side to side and it stands just under 1 5/8 inches or 40 mm tall to the top of its lid when closed. The trinket or snuff box is made from 830 standard solid silver that has been internally gilded or gold plated and it weighs 56.9 grams. The trinket or snuff box is in a circular shape with straight sides and it has a stepped push fitting lid that has been delightfully engrave decorated by hand with flowers and foliage within a decorative outer border, the table top trinket or snuff box has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below and the underside of its body has been ... moreimpressed with a full set of Swedish solid silver marks that include the unknown silversmith or makers mark AR along with the bird like town mark of Örebro, it has the Swedish 830 standard solid silver three crown mark and it has the Swedish date code A5 for 1855 again as photographed below. The condition is used and Excellent for its age. This Table Top Trinket or Snuff Box has No Large Dents. No Splits. No Holes, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find, the box stands straight, the decoration and definition is crisp, the lid opens and closes tightly with ease, the internal gilding is a good colour with only minimal wear, the Swedish solid silver marks are still clearly legible although as this table top trinket or snuff box is a used antique it does have some small shallow dents around its body and lid along with some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. Personally I think that this antique Swedish table top trinket or snuff box can still be used today and that it would make a superb addition to any cabinet collection, I also think that it looks absolutely fantastic cons

Quality solid silver English hallmarked table snuff box. Or trinket box dating to the Victorian era. Possibly with military connections as per the pictures. Please view them all as they hopefully show the box in detail. Main set of hallmarks to the base. On the inner lip. Comprising the makers mark'FBT' for the respected Francis Boone Thomas. The lion denoting sterling silver. The panthers head for London, the date letter'H' for 1883. And the duty mark. Second set. On the outer lid, bear the makers mark, the lion and the date letter. Stamped on the base'THOMAS 153 NEW BOND ST' The box has a gilded interior. It measures 9.1 cms by 7.9 cms by 2.9 cms. Weighs a substantial 150.5g(all approximate) CONDITION. The hinge is fine and the lid closes tightly. The top of the lid has been poorly scratched/rubbed/polished. I think ... morein an effort to erase a motto/inscription. The remnants of the motto can be seen. It looks to my like a military emblem or badge. Similar to the Royal Lancers? You should be able to see in the pictures. The erasure has caused a depression in the lid. It may be possible to have the lid professionally polished to make good. Edwardian Solid Silver Table Snuff Box" It is fully English hallmarked for London 1902 and the makers mark is"W.C" for William Coymns a fine English silversmith of the period. The box is in good condition there are no holes. There are a couple of minor dents commensurate with its age and use and the lid opens and closes well. It is decorated with an embossed fluted pattern all over and has a crimped edge. It is engraved with the name: Maidlie" on the cartouche. Edward smith large 1844 solid silver table snuff box
Here I have a very very nice table snuff box on offer. In a excellent condition. No splits no repairs only a few small wear in the interior gilt. The gilt is fadding in a few small section as shown in pictures, the hinge is in good order opens and close tight. Engined turned throughout the box top, side and bottom. The cartouche is monogrammed, but is rubbed. Fully hallmark for Edward Smith, Birmingham, date 1844. The box is in larger size then the normal snuff, measures 3.25" width, and 2" length weighing a heavy 121.5 grams. Thanks for looking and buyer pays p/p. This is a stunning fine quality Edwardian Solid Silver Oval table snuff box that has been crafted superbly with the a rare embossed pictorial scene not only to the sides but also the top. The hinged top is a dome shape with a wonderful rural scene of a lady carrying a pot on her head as she is walking back into the village, the detailing is exquisite with embossed house's and trees which in turn has beautiful foliage, to the side of this stunning snuff box you will also see embossed house's, palm tree's and so much more, a lot of fine detailing has gone into the crafting of this stunning Edwardian snuff box, on opening the hinged lid you will see it still has the most beautiful gold gilt finish, the hinged lid is in lovely condition and still stays open at different angle's, this snuff box was crafted by the Edwardian silversmith ... moreJ. Boseck& Co. Birmingham 1911 with matching marks on the hinged top. This is a rare design and carries the Rd Number on the back near the bottom, it measures 7.6 cm width by 3.5 cm deep and stands 3 cm high, its weighs 31.5 grams. This is a stunning snuff box with a very unusual and special design, a true collectors piece. A brief history of the silversmiths The founder. John Boseck, died in Calcutta on 24th January 1899. John Boseck was noted as exhibiting gold. Silver, and amber jewellery at the Calcutta International Exhibition of 1883-84. J.
