Antique Silver Sovereign case holder BIRMINGHAM 1906 WHH
This is a solid silver English hallmarked sovereign holder or case. Dating from the Edwardian era. Inner lid bears the makers mark'WHH' for William Hair Haseler. Further hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham, lion denoting sterling silver. And the date letter'g for 1906. There is also a lion hallmark on the suspension ring The case shuts with a'snap' Hinge and clasp are fine. Springs open when the'push button' is depressed. The spring loaded coin holder operates as it should. If you look very closely at the last 5 pictures Ive tried to show where there is slight ding(pencil tip size) when inspecting the item closely enough it was barely noticeable. The item remains in excellent condition considering its age.

This Piece id marked with the lion& anchor& a Letter d in a box with a wavy bottom to it we think it is the date mark of 1899. We are not 100% Sure But 90-95% sure. This item has some wear from being used up until About 5 years When the former owner stop traveling to the city. She had it holding NY City subway tokens. Item measure aprox 1 1/4 in across and tab flat about 1 3/4 top to bottom. It weighs a Hefty 15 grams or a 1/2 troy ounce.
