Was assayed in Birmingham with the date letter for 1898. The piecde measures 6 1/2cm/2 1/2" by 4cm/1 1/2 by 2 1/2/1" tall. The piece is in good antique condition with some miner bumps to the silver but nothing too bad. The feet are a little pressed in but again this does not spoil the look of the piece. This is a Hallmarked silver pillbox. But could be used for any small trinkets etc. I have not been able to tell where the hallmark is from but the symbol on the lid is I am told the Egyptian tree of life, and I have read that other countries and many faiths use this symbol, I had initially thought it was Celtic. The box is in good condition and has been well looked after. The oval shaped box is 4.4 width. 3cm, top to bottom and is 1.2 cm depth, it weighs 26.1grams.
