vintage antique large ornate victorian stone trinket vanity snuff pill box Franc
this is a stunning large victorian style vintage or antique ornate vanity box. it has a very exquisite heavily embossed detailing of intricate scroll design. topped with a large cut turquoise stone. it's dome topped and footed. And opens and closes at a hinge. it was most likely silver plated at one point but has a great patina from age. made from thick material and has some nice weight to it. has a pink linen lining and in good shape. measures 7 by 4 3/4 by 4 inches there is a tiny chip at the rim of the bottom part but only can see when its opened. and the bottom lining isnt all present. 1917 Swedish C.G. Hallberg silver vanity pill/snuff box with rounded corners. C.G. Hallberg began in 1890. Took over in 1961 by GAB and then closed. Size: 2 9/16"W x 1 1/8"D x 1/2"H Excellent working clasp to close box. Hinge excellent. 2 little dings in back. See last photo. C.G. Hallberg was a prominent Swedish goldsmiths and jewelers, jeweler to the Swedish Court. Its central store was located at Drottninggatan 6 in Stockholm. It is best known for its silverware and metal ware which continue to fetch high prices in auctions today. In the early 20th century it was the largest jewelers in Scandinavia and one of Sweden's top firms; by 1961 it was still the largest jewelers in Sweden with 31 domestic shops and a global export network.
