Solid Sliver& Glass Heart Shaped Trinket Box Hallmarked Birmingham 1903 A really attractive and unusual heart shaped glass trinket box topped off with a solid silver lid made by William Devenport and hallmarked for Birmingham 1903. The box has the following dimensions: 85mm long. 80mm wide and 35mm high(including the lid) This lovely box would be the perfect finishing touch for a dressing table. Etc. The silver top typifies romanticism and is embossed with a foliate scroll design with a heart at its centre. It is aesthetically in very nice condition although there are a couple of tiny holes in the silver where it has rubbed through(please see photographs. Which have been taken with a x5 lens, therefore not really visible to the naked eye unless under close inspection) although the hallmark is still crisp and clear. There is also a 25mm ... morecrack in the dish running from the top down one side that the camera hasn't been able to pick up and which doesn't affect the functionality of the piece. It has an engine turned decorated cover with a central blank cartouche and a single line design to the rim. The body is plain in contrast and the box sits on three cabriole shape legs. Another nice feature is the interior which is lined with a dark blue velvet material. Probably replaced) The base is open with a thick card bottom attached to a weight for stability. The box has a hallmark of the anchor lion and d. I can not make out the makers mark. The box measures 4.5"W x 4.5"L x 2.25"H weighing 423.8 gms with the liner and bottom 218.4 gms of sterling silver with out the liner and bottom. A lovely silver jewellery or trinket round box. Hallmarked Birmingham for 1972, the maker B and Co. which is W I Broadway& Co. Beautifully embossed and in relief with birds, flowers, leaves, and what looks like a bearded lions head, and there is an empty cartouche if needed. Excellent condition with no dings or splits etc. hinge could be a bit tighter but lid and bottom close together without a gap, and the box is lined with black velvet. Hammered pattern hinged lid with an engraved oval cartouche(engraving is worn) The box is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1908 and maker mark'A&J.Z' for Zimmerman Ltd. ~ Dimensions ~ The box is 4.15 inches(10.5 cm) wide by 1.9 inches(4.75 cm) deep and 1 inch(2.5 cm) height. It weights 86.9 g. ~ Condition ~ The dish is in decent condition with couple of depressions to the surface(mainly to the lid) and some scratches to the underside. Delightful Antique Sterling Silver Collar Stud. Trinket or Jewelery Box from Birmingham dated 1917 This Antique Collar Stud. Trinket or Jewelery Box measures approximately 2 1/4 inches or 58 mm across the width or diameter of its lower body from side to side and it stands just over 7/8 of an inch or 23 mm tall to the top of its lid when closed. The box is made from a sterling silver in a circular shape that has been internally lined with a green baize or felt in its base and it has a raised relief bead decorated rim around the sides of its lid and lower body for ease of opening. The condition is used and fairly good for its age. The box has No Large Dents. No Holes, No Splits and No Cracks that I can find, the box stands straight, the definition is crisp, the lid opens and closes tightly with ease, the silver hallmarks are very rubbed or worn but still legible with an eyeglass although as this box is a used antique it does have some small shallow dents in its body and lid along with some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a good clean would enhance it greatly. I am selling a beautiful and rare English sterling silver casket shaped jewelry or trinket fully hallmarked on the front of the body. Made in 1907 by Britton. Gould& Co of Birmingham, England, this little box has 4 dainty feet, a rounded top which was originally covered with purple velvet, now worn but still intact. The inside is lined in beige silk framed in beige cord and purple velvet. The bottom was originally cover with cloth which is now worn away. This could easily be replaced. The box is in good condition with no breaks or dents. There is minor surface wear to the silver in addition to the fabric wear mentioned above. A fine and rare little jewelry box 106 years old. You are bidding on this charming cut crystal item with its solid silver and hallmarked fitted lid. The main hallmarks are clear and are the anchor symbol for Birmingham; the Lion Passant and the date letter'X' for 1922. The Maker's mark is rubbed. Antique Ornate Sterling Pill/Trinket/Snuff Box Levi & Salaman 1909 Birmingham
Beautiful Antique English Edwardian Sterling Silver Hallmarked Box- Snuff Box. Pill Box, Trinket Box- take your pick. The set of hallmarks at it's base indicate the piece is sterling silver; assayed in Birmingham in 1909, with the maker's mark of L& S for Levi& Salaman. The body is smooth and plain with a highly ornate decorative lid. The lid opens and closes smoothly and snaps shut nicely. I believe the lid may have once been covered with Guilloche Enamel. As I have discovered traces of cobalt. The strangest thing, I never saw this when I bought it years and years ago! I was wondering how this could be, and came to the conclusion that it could have been either dirty at the time, or the previous owner left traces of silver paste in the cracks of the ornate design. If in fact it once housed Guilloche, I have no idea how they ... moregot it all off as thoroughly as they did* but there you have it. That said. It presents beautifully ~ i t is a stunning design and a very useful and highly collectible little box. CONDITION No major damages or repairs. Light wear commensurate with age and use. Has sustained a few negligible bruises to the base- see photos. It has been very well kept for a piece of 105 years. Enjoy! So if you see a warping in any photo, it is due to the convex nature of the magnifying glass, as the box is perfectly round. For sale is a sterling silver trinket box! This heart shaped trinket box has antique English hallmarks. The hallmarks mean it was made in Birmingham in 1878 or 1879 of sterling silver by the maker CE&FD. The dat mark is slightly unclear. But I believe it to be 1878 and not 1852. The trinket box has very intricate repoussé and is highly decorated. The box has a hinged lid and an open spot on top for a monogram, but it has not yet been monogrammed. The impressed set of hallmarks may be seen on the outer edge of the lid. The maker’s mark is illegible. Followed by the Anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office and the Lion Passant for 92.5% solid sterling silver. The date letter is not that clear. But it looks like the lowercase e for the year 1904. The box is in very good condition with no dings or dents however there is a tiny hole in the lid commensurate with its age. It is decorated with an embossed floral pattern all over and has a cartouche on the lid which is engraved with the letter"A" The box measures 35mm x 34mm and it weighs 17.9 grams. Description: Stunning heavy sterling silver trinket box in a coffin shape with Birmingham England hallmarks. The interior of this box is gold-plated. It has a hinged lid. And the lid will stand open on its own without needing to be propped up. This box measures 4-1/4 inches long X 1-1/8 inches wide at the widest point X 15/16 inch high. It weighs 56.8 grams. On the bottom, this box is very well hallmarked with the sterling lion, the anchor for Birmingham, and a fancy letter. Antique solid silver trinket/ Jewellery box. Hallmarked Birmingham and the letter mark looks like 1912/1913, which would make it Art Nouveau period. The maker's mark says F&S. The box has a hinged lid with the initial H in the centre with a design of some sort in the middle of the letter. There is a pattern embossed all around the lid, and the box is on four cabriole legs, all of this design makes it look very decorative and like a small item of furniture in miniature. The hinge on the lid is still good and it closes flat. But the lid has some small dents, which could possibly be smoothed out. Underneath there is a base that is not silver and is slightly weighted and this has some extensive wear. There is also some wear to the lining around the edges to the material inside the lid, in front, please see photographs. The sides and legs ... moreof the box are in good condition.
