FINE Antique FRENCH NIELLO ENAMEL & STERLING Silver Round PILL BOX
Here we are offering an absolutely stunning late 19th/early 20th Century French niello sterling silver round pill box. Beautiful recessed hinge and lid with little fin at the front to allow for easy opening. The interior has a rich gilt wash and the lid is hallmarked at the edge with the French boar's head. As well as the Minerva? and a maker's mark that unfortunately I cannot make out. This pill box measures 1.75" x.75" Please note that it does have a few VERY minor dents and inside those dents are a few tiny enamel flakes missing- because the niello pattern is so busy, these little dents and chips are not obvious, but are visible upon close examination. I was told the case is hand etched and is Circ.1880, however I can't guarantee that as I'm not a professional and I asked a collector to look at it and that was his opinion. Antique Watson Co. Sterling Silver& Guilloche Enamel Art Deco Pill Box Up for auction is an exquisite antique sterling and guilloche enamel pill. Ring or trinket box by Watson Co. of Attleboro, Mass. Watson made many beautiful sterling items. Some with guilloche enamel, but most of the guilloche items that I've seen were fancy demitasse spoons, enameled brooches, hair clips, buckles and the like. I've never seen a box like this one. And it's a real beauty. It measures 1-1/2" across by 1" high. With a slightly domed lid, and weighs 31.7 grams. The body is machine turned with horizontal pinstripe threading. The lid has rings of Art Deco patterning overlaid with guilloche enamel in white and aquamarine blue with tiny silver beads. The outer rings are accented with tiny gold shamrocks. And the center features a large ... moregold four-leaf clover. The design is so unique it suggests to me that this was box was custom designed for its recipient. The inside has a light gold wash. Vintage Sterling Silver Vermeil Guilloche Enamel Pill Box 30 grams 925 MINT
This box is in Great condition it is a 1 3/4" x 1 1/4" oval. It weighs 30 grams. One ounce of stamped 925 vermeil silver with the stamp under the lid on the rim. The outside looks gold washed and the inside looks bright gold. The enamel is in perfect condition it is protected by raised scrolling and a thick rim. The bottom is very thick to prevent dings or dents. It has a well made hinge and a tight secure snap shut closure. The lime green enamel has a raised silver scroll around it and a silver medallion on top of the enamel. The bottom has one large rose with an etched design to follow the small rose trim on the top. Description Up for bid is a sterling silver and purple guilloche enamel snuff or pill box. It measures a little less than 1 and 1/2 inches square and is about 3/8 inches high. The top and the sides are enameled. And the bottom is plain sterling. It opens to a gold-washed interior. The bottom of the compact and the rim of the lid are marked 925. There is also a triangle within a circle(which appears to be a maker's mark) and a date letter of a small i. Since there is a date letter, I assume this was made in the UK for export. Gorgeous sterling silver and enamel snuff/pill box
Very nice looking sterling silver and enamel snuff/pill box. Interior has gold wash and outside has nice engraving all around. I couldn't find any hallmarks or makers mark. Very good vintage condition with a couple of very small dings on the blue enamel. Looks like people tending their flock by a river.
