Antique 18th c. ? French ? Snuff Box Silver w Gilt Interior c. 1800
This is a very pretty snuff box. The marks are no longer legible. But I think they were once the French first coq mark 1798-1809. The style with clipped corners fits that time frame. The box has heavy patina, consistent with this age. It is very heavy and the engraving is very deep. It has a gilt interior. The marks are absolutely illegible so all I can guarantee it that it is very old. This is the perfect size for a pill box, if you have to take a few more pills than I do. The lid fits tightly. So if you are looking for a beautiful, quality, antique box, great. If you want marks, it is not for you. It measures 2 ¾” x 2” x 9/16” And weighs 3 troy ounces!

Antique French Hallmarked Gilt Interior Enameled Silver Patch/Snuff Box 18th C.
Lovely late 18th. Early 19th century gilt silver& hand painted enameled snuff box or patch box with a mildly erotic hand painted enamel scene in an oval reserve on the front, depicting a man seated in a chair, helping his lady to sit on his lap, by lifting up the back of the back of her dress, as well as taking a peek! Heavy piece(weighs 1.96 troy ounces) gold gilt interior, nice details in the silver work which has floral garlands and draped columns around the edges bad the base. Hallmark is a diamond shape with flowers in the center, too small to get a good photograph of. Measures 2" x 1 1/2" 7/8" high. Condition: minor loss of a small section of the purple enameling one one side(could be repaired if desired) possible older enamel restoration on other side.
