This is a listing for a lot of 3 spice boxes. They all have the words'Siam Sterling' on the bottom of them. However I am not sure when they were made but the fact that the word'Siam' does help in possibly dating the items! I have labeled them as spice boxes or maybe they are used for something entirely different. The blue enamel imagery is amazing so definitely check out the images provided and see for yourself. The First Fish is a very fine example with a fully articulated body and what I am sure would be Ruby Eyes. It is fully Hallmarked and I believe would be Dutch Solid 800 Grade Silver by the Hallmarks. This beauty has a fully functioning hinge for the head to open. But whatever was inside is now missing. The 2nd Fish is also fully articulated but seems to be just a sculpture, not a box as no part opens that I could find. This beauty is Hallmarked Spanish Sterling Silver and has a great ferocious look to his face. It has no faults and is in excellent condition. An unusual Dutch silver peppermint. Spice, or snuff box. It is hallmarked with what I suspect are Dutch marks and dates to c1890 but it may be considerably older- it tests as high grade silver. It has been nicely designed in the form of a basket embossed with flowers, the lid has been reverse embossed so the detail is on the inside when opened. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The inside is clean and the lid fits perfectly. Unusual Antique Sterling Silver Table Top Trinket or Spice Box from India or Sri Lanka circa 1865 This Antique Indian Trinket or Spice Box measures approximately 2 3/8 inches or 61 mm across its length from end to end by just under 1 3/4 inches or 44 mm across its width from side to side and it stands just over 2 1/4 inches or 58 mm tall to the top of the handle on its lid when in place. The box is hand made from 43.0 grams of high grade sterling silver in an oval shape that stands on four shaped legs that have scroll ends as feet and it has an oval lid that sits on a raised plain upper rim on the body. The top of the lid has a stylized tiger shaped handle that has been pierced and engrave decorated to give the tiger its definition and the outer body of the base and lid have been wonderfully hand embossed or raised relief and engrave decorated ... morewith Indian stylized scrolls and foliage, the top of the lid has an unusual pattern or design within a decorative circular outer border that looks a little like a stylized crab but I'm not sure that it is actually a crab, the box has Not been engraved with a typical previous owners initials or family monogram although it does have an unknown engraved or chased Indian signature or word on the underside of its body all as photographed below, I have been unable to find any silver marks as is very typical with these antique Indian items so the box has been tested and it is guaranteed as being made from a high grade sterling silver, I have asked several dealer friends of mine as to their opinions of the box and the consensus is that it's either Indian of Sri Lankan and that it was made circa 1850- 1880 so I've dated it circa 1865 but it may be a lot older. The condition is used and fairly good for its age. The box has No Large Dents. No Splits, No Holes and No Cracks that I can find, the definition and decoration is very crisp. ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER JUDIACA SPICE BOX CONTAINER
Here we have up for auction an Antique Silver Flower Form Spice Box container. This particular one is extraordinarily beautiful. It has a large floral face. An eagle that is in flight, a decorative footed base, and a root that is covered with leaves and a serpent surrounding it. It measures 7 1/2" tall and the face of the flower is 3 1/2" in circumference, the eagle is 3 3/4" wide and the base is 3" in circumference. There is a minor dent to the base(see photos) There are no markings that I can find. This is a beautiful Antique piece to own.
