Up for auction is this superb antique 800 silver& enamel strawberry form box. What an unusual piece! Possibly a snuff box. Or a pill box, or even a thimble case? I've never seen one like it! Great strawberry seed details molded into the silver and fully realized on the outside in orangey red enamel. As well as the green top leaves of the berry. Please take a close look at my photos. I attempted to get as many close ups as possible. This is an estate find and I have very little information on it. It is marked on the inside. 800 in an oval and also has the numbers 44 on one side and 444 on the other side. I couldn't find any other hallmarks although I doubt this pretty little strawberry was made in the United States. My guess would be Russia or some other European country. See for yourself how wonderful this sweet strawberry truly ... moreis! Piece measures a little over 1 3/4" long by 1 1/2" wide by 3/4" thick. It is in very good condition. In my photos it looks like there is some light enamel loss to the tips of the leaves but even on close inspection. It's hard to notice without a eye loupe. Early rare 1912 Alfred Dunhill solid silver pill box or snuff box. Cloisonne silver lid with pale blue and white enamel in very good condition. The lid fits onto the base with an almost magnetic feel. Two full sets of London 1912 hallmarks. Also stamped'Alfred Dunhill Paris' This piece pre-dates the move by Dunhill to Duke Street. London in 1916. Prior to this date Dunhill was largely devoted to'Motorities' the furnishing and accessorising of early motor vehicles and drivers. 46mm diameter- 18mm depth. Perhaps the enameling can be removed to become a silver box since anything by Marius Hammer is very collectible. There are no dents or other damage to the box. Measures 1-5/8" long. 1" wide and 3/8" high. Marked with the Marius Hammer hallmark on the lid and the bottom with 930S. Small enamel damage to the lid and several areas of enamel damage to the case. Description Up for bid is a sterling silver and purple guilloche enamel snuff or pill box. It measures a little less than 1 and 1/2 inches square and is about 3/8 inches high. The top and the sides are enameled. And the bottom is plain sterling. It opens to a gold-washed interior. The bottom of the compact and the rim of the lid are marked 925. There is also a triangle within a circle(which appears to be a maker's mark) and a date letter of a small i. Since there is a date letter, I assume this was made in the UK for export. Overall condition is excellent. With no damage to the enamel. There is a shallow indent on the bottom of the box, but it in no way detracts. Domestic shipping will be $3.00. Has superb floral enamel decoration to the lid which is in fine condition with no chips or cracks. It is not hallmarked but has been tested as solid silver. It is in good condition with no dents and has only minor surface scratches. Has a tiny split in the silver on the front corner this does not effect the box in any way- see photos. The hinge is in good working order and the lid closes firmly and is secure. Measures- 4 cm in length x 2.6 cm wide x 1.5 cm in height- Weighs 18 grams of solid silver.

Very nice looking sterling silver and enamel snuff/pill box. Interior has gold wash and outside has nice engraving all around. I couldn't find any hallmarks or makers mark. Very good vintage condition with a couple of very small dings on the blue enamel. Looks like people tending their flock by a river.
