Newly listed is this collectable vintage solid sterling silver pill/snuff box. The shape is rectangular with slightly curved edges in design. The hinged lid is slightly domed in profile. It is hallmarked in the bottom 925– standard of Continental silver. I’ve got it from my mother- at- law which was living in Paris for years as a diplomatic corps wife so I presume the box is coming from France. The dimensions of the box are 45 mm in length x 35 mm in wide x 1 3 mm in depth. The box weighs 17 g. The box is in very good pre– owned condition with no dings or dents. It opens and closes securely with a good snap and it has a nice hinge. Beautiful piece which will give a lot of pleasure as a gift. Happy shopping! This is a very rare and stunning snuff box. It's a great piece to add to any collection. For its age it is in very good condition. Was very dirty before I cleaned it. It's sterling silver. It does not have any marking but I have taken it to my jeweler and he tested as 90% silver. I have also taken it to my antique guy and his eyes lit up when he saw it. I was told by him that it's definitely from the late 1800's and made in Dutch and its not marked because it was so old. Measures almost 2" in diameter and about 3/4" high. This probably falls into the category of"old Pawn" Navajo Silver- but I cannot identify the maker. The underside of th elid is well marked"RA" but who the silversmith was, I cannot say. It is old, and has a concho style emblem worked onto the top of the lid, with a little pink coral cabouchon. The box is beautifully made, and quite heavy for its size: 2"x 1.5"x.75" deep, weighing 45 grams. This shows wear associated with long and careful use,but no damage or distress. Nice old piece. The lid has a figure of Cleopatra on the lid, and a hand chased decoration around the edge. It is marked with the.900 mark[٩٠٠] on the lid, and the has the same mark[٩٠٠] and the date letter[ت] for 1943(although the same date mark was used for 1992 also) Both the lid and base have also been tested as silver. A good quality sterling silver snuff/ pill box. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1985 with the markers mark being B&Co for WI Broadway and Co. It has been beautifully made having a flower engraved hinged lid. It has also been engraved with initials KWS. The inside has been richly gilded. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The lid closes tightly to form a good seal. It measures 1.6" by 1.5" and a depth of 0.9" Decorated with a lovely art nouveau design of scrolls and flowers etc. The interior has been gilded with gold. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1903(lid hallmarked also for 1903) and with a makers mark of JT&S for John Thompson and sons. Weighs 13.8g It has four small holes which i have highlighted in red circles. I am selling a solid sterling silver"Silver Jubilee" Pill Box hallmarked for London 1977 with maker's mark DMS. The box is 3.3 cm in diameter. 1.0 cm high and weighs 20 g. In very good condition with NO damage or initials. It has a twist top to allow the release of pills or sweeteners. This item starts at a low price with no reserve.
