Please scroll down the page to see additional photographs of this item. 1833 QUALITY RUSSIAN SILVER NIELLO ENAMEL SNUFF BOX Presented is a nice pre-revolution Russian silver niello enameled snuff box. The hinged lid is engraved and enameled in black with a statue at the center and architecture on either side with a Russian inscription at the bottom. The sides are also engraved with architectural motifs. The underside of the box is engraved and enameled with a shield and a helmet surrounded by flags or spears. Certainly a French inspired design. The box has a nice gold wash on the interior. The box is marked on the inside of the lid with the city mark for Moscow. 84 for Russian 875 purity silver, and a makers mark. The interior of the box is also marked with an assay masters mark, the date 1833, the 84 mark, and the makers mark. The picture ... moreon the top of the box is the iconic statue of Minin and Pozharsky(http:commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Monument_to_Minin_and_Pozharsky.jpg) They were involved in expelling the Poles from Russia and helped put the Romanovs on the imperial throne. The condition is excellent. There is some little losses to the black enameling. Particularly around the top edge of the lid as you can see in the first photo. This is fairly minor. The majority of the enameling is intact. The hinged lid is working well. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The box measures 1 7/8 inches by 3 inches by 3/4 inch. Up for auction is this superb antique 800 silver& enamel strawberry form box. What an unusual piece! Possibly a snuff box. Or a pill box, or even a thimble case? I've never seen one like it! Great strawberry seed details molded into the silver and fully realized on the outside in orangey red enamel. As well as the green top leaves of the berry. Please take a close look at my photos. I attempted to get as many close ups as possible. This is an estate find and I have very little information on it. It is marked on the inside. 800 in an oval and also has the numbers 44 on one side and 444 on the other side. I couldn't find any other hallmarks although I doubt this pretty little strawberry was made in the United States. My guess would be Russia or some other European country. See for yourself how wonderful this sweet strawberry truly ... moreis! Piece measures a little over 1 3/4" long by 1 1/2" wide by 3/4" thick. It is in very good condition. In my photos it looks like there is some light enamel loss to the tips of the leaves but even on close inspection. It's hard to notice without a eye loupe. This may originate from Austria though im not sure as George Stockwell was a known importer of Georg Jensen silver, but i can not find any other marks apart from the British import marks. This stunning Art Deco Snuff Box has the most beautiful Deep Red Guilloche Enamel to the top shimmers when tilted which is then framed with Marcasite Stones that sparkle. Which is very unusual. the sides and bottom of this large snuff box have been finished with a lovely engine turned decoration, the thumb piece is lovely with its embossed scroll decoration, on opening this ... morelarge snuff box you will see it still retains its rich deep gold finish, the quality is superb and it has been crafted with a good gauge of silver weighing 116 grams. this is a really high quality and such a rare design, the condition is lovely with the normal amount of wear to the Enamel with surface scratch as you would expect, there are some stones missing but these could be replaced as they are Marcasite and the only other thing to mention is the top springs open a little, this doesnt detract at all from its beauty, just mentioned for accuracy, this is fully hallmarked, my words and photos dont do it justice at all. The sides engraved and enamelled with leaves and scrolls in black. White and green. Very detailed and elaborate enamelling. Internally bright, fire or mercuric gilt. I cannot find any impressed assay or makers marks but it has been tested as positive for high grade silver. Probably continental, possibly Austro Hungarian or Germanic. This is a beautiful and exceptionally fine quality silver snuff box with superb enamel decoration. The box is rectangular in shape with straight sides and a flat top and bottom. The lid of the box has a magnificent hand painted enamel octagonal panel with two men and two women in finely painted costume. The man to the right with a glass of red wine in his hand, the lady on the left holding a glass in her left hand and with a wine ewer to the side. I believe the enamel is a depiction of a Dutch master painting. The enamel panel is surrounded by finely chased borders and bands of white and dark blue enamel. All four sides of the box and the underside ... morehave superb blue guilloche enamel with matching finely chased decoration and bands of blue and white enamel. The quality of the enamel is exceptional. The lid of the box is hinged and the inside of the box is gilded. The box is 3-1/8 inches/ 79 mm wide and 2-1/4 inches/ 57 mm deep. It stands 7/8 inches/ 22 mm high and weighs an impressive 175 grams. The inside of the box has a hallmark which is almost impossible to photograph due to it's location to the back of the front panel of the box and almost against the bottom. The box is in excellent condition with.no dents. Damage or repair. The enamel is without chips, cracks or damage. Antique 19th Century French Empire Solid Silver& Niello Enamel Snuff Box Here's a mid 19th century solid silver and Niello enamel snuff box featuring a scene of men and women dancing and drinking on the lid. The snuff box is french in origin and bears two stamped marks. One I believe the'Minerva head' silver mark used from 1838 and the other the makers mark. Both marks are fairly indistinguishable. The box measures 82 mm long. 45 mm wide and 18 mm deep. The box weighs 98 grammes. The box is in very good condition. The scene on the lid is fairly worn and there is some marks on the inner surfaces as pictured. There are no dents.

This is a fabulous. Antique, 1903, Edward V11 silver and enamelled card/snuff/cigarette box, with engine turned decoration, oval enamelled plaque, showing a beautiful colourful hunting scene with World War 2 provenance. The detailing in this enamelled scene is exquisite, even down to the female horsewom an riding side saddle. possibly a later enamel. because the horse riders clothing looks a little modern for 1903! A truly stunning piece of Edwardian workmanship. Fully hallmarked and made by'George Nathan& Ridley Hayes' assayed in Chester with lion passant, and the date letter C for 1903. Considering this card/snuff/cigarette box is 111 years old it's in pretty good original con dition. With no splits or damaged enamelling. This vintage/antique Marius Hammer sterling silver guilloche enamel snuff box has a gold wash interior. The enameling is pale blue but unfortunately has seen better days. Perhaps the enameling can be removed to become a silver box since anything by Marius Hammer is very collectible. There are no dents or other damage to the box. Measures 1-5/8" long. 1" wide and 3/8" high. Marked with the Marius Hammer hallmark on the lid and the bottom with 930S. Small enamel damage to the lid and several areas of enamel damage to the case. ONE OF A KIND VERY SPECIAL EXTREMELY RARE PRINCE REGENT ENAMEL COAT OF ARMS MOUNTED SOLID SILVER SNUFF BOX with BLACK& WHITE AGATE MOUNTED TOP A very important piece of our British History This is a very special extremely rare solid silver Edwardian Snuff Box. Firstly i will explain the wonderful decoration and mounts, the snuff box itself is round in shape with stunning repousse decoration of scrolls, foliage and flowers in abundance with a blank central cartouche to the bottom and is hallmarked for the important Victorian silversmiths Martin Hall& Co which in itself is a sign of top quality. The hinged top has a large black and white banded agate mount which in itself is stunning, then on opening this wonderful lid you will see it has a rare mounted Enamel Prince Regent Coat of Arms and the interior still retains its deep rich gold ... moregilt finish i dont believe this has ever been used. there are a couple of theories regarding the snuff box and its rare coat of arms, the first being that the Prince Regent had this rare enamel coat of arms mounted into something else of the finest quality and kept it within the Royal Family and was then given remounted as a gift to the future Edward VII as 1912 was the year of his 18th Birthday. The reason i say this is because it is hallmarked for 1912 which would make this extremely special or the Prince Regent gave it to someone close to him as a gift and it has been remounted later, which ever one it may be still makes this extremely scarce as the Prince Regent Enamel to the top once belonged to him nearly 200 years ago the quality of the craftsmanship is superb. This has been crafted with a good gauge of silver weighing 32.5 grams, this shows the normal signs of wear with little bruising near the neck and the line on the body is the seam not a split and the enamel has wear but still in lovely condition considering its nearly 200 years old, that being said it doesnt detract at all from its beauty, this just adds to its history, just mentioned for accuracy.
