This is a stunning rectangular silver ring box with canted corners. The box has a superb yellow guilloche enamel lid above straight plain silver sides. The box stands on four ball feet. The inside of the box is beautifully lined with beige material. The box is 3-3/4 inches/ 96 mm wide and 1-3/4 inches/ 45 mm deep. It stands 1-1/8 inches/ 28 mm high and weighs 143 grams. The side of the box has hallmarks- lion passant. Anchor for Birmingham, letter M for 1936 and maker's mark C&N for Crisford& Norris. The box is in excellent condition with no dents. Damage or repair. Antique Sterling Silver Gilt& Guilloche Enamel Jewelery. Ring or Trinket or Ring Box dated 1926 This Antique Jewelery. Trinket or Ring Box measures approximately 2 3/8 inches or 61 mm across the width or diameter of its lid from side to side and it stands just under 1 5/8 inches or 41 mm tall to the top of its lid. The box is made from sterling silver that was once completely gilded or gold plated in a circular shape that stands on three shaped raised relief decorated legs. The box has a three section piano hinged lid that has been internally gilded or gold plated and the top of its lid has been wonderfully decorated with blue guilloche enamel, the inside of the body has a pale brown velvet lining and the box has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram, the underside of the body has a pale brown velvet inset ... morepanel and the side of the boxes body and lid have been impressed with English sterling silver hallmarks that read as follows, A C- Anchor- Lion Passant- B A C is the Birmingham silversmith or makers mark of Albert Carter. The Anchor is the mark of the Birmingham assay office, the Lion Passant is the mark of English 925 standard sterling silver and the letter B is the date letter for 1926. The condition is used and near Mint for its age. The Guilloche Enamel is in Mint Condition with No Chips. No Cracks and No Surface Scratches. The box has No Dents. No Splits, No Cracks and No Holes and the box has No Repairs that I can find, the box stands straight, the hinge is working perfectly, the lid opens with ease and closes tightly, the definition and decoration is very crisp, the internal lining is in mint condition with no splits and no tares, the silver hallmarks are rubbed or worn but still partially legible although as the box is a used antique the external gilding is very worn and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, the box has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss.
