These one-armed parlor chairs were designed specifically for ladies of the time, with lower seats and only one arm, so that it was easier for them sit, and to remove their shoes, without having to bend over too far, and was very useful for them considering the gowns, petticoats, and corsets of the time. The woodwork and carving on this chair is in great condition, particularly considering its age. I am unsure of its exact age, but these types of chairs were made primarily between the mid to late 19th Century. The chair has a sleigh back curve at the top, and gorgeous carved details in the wood.

This is a beautiful set by Eastlake. It has been passed down 4 generations to me. I love it but with 3 growing kids I don't have the space for it anymore. This lot includes 2 Chairs and A Rocking Chair. They are all in excellent condition for their age. The fabric is a little worn in areas from age. But no major damage. The wood is in excellent shape. Rare New York VICTORIAN Inlaid PARLOR SET , probably Pottier and Stymus
As found rare 5 piece inlaid maple or satinwood and rosewood New York Victorian parlor set consisting of a lady and gent's chair. 2 oversized salon or side chairs and a large sofa. The upholstery is shot but the frames are sound. There are some typical age related signs of wear including a few nicks and chips here and there. The lady's arm chair is missing a small part of the turning in the back of the front leg and the sofa's right rear leg had been broken and repaired poorly. It will need to be re-glued and aligned properly. The lady's chair is obviously made by the same maker as the other pieces but does not have identical inlay. I purchased it separately from the original 4 pieces but it is an amazingly close match and once reupholstered noone will know. Eastlake Victorian Parlor Set 5 PIECES
I do not know the exact year of production guessing late 1800's to early 1900's. It came from the home of some well to do world travelers and was setting in her formal living room. There are a total of 5 pieces. All pieces are in remarkable condition and need a home where they will be appreciated for their fine quality. The larger settee has been recovered probably in the 1980's as the material has that look and feel. Possibly the Arm chair also. The pink have a very thick cloth and the ladies settee is velvet. Porcelain casters on front two legs of chairs and settees. I had an antique dealer authenticate these pieces as Eastlake. The stained glass floor lamp is no t an antique but beautifully compliments the parlor set. The lamp's primary colors are blue. Rose-pink, lavender, and cream, with purple ribbon glass. The base is brass& uniquely designed. I would not dream of selling this treasured set if it weren't necessary for me to downsize to a smaller house. Matched pair Victorian empire transitional walnut chairs parlor chair suite set
Victorian balloon back chairs from the 18 sixty's or early 1870s era these are walnuts and in extremely good condition they do have old finish. These are upholstered in greenish cut velvet I also have a set that is in a blue velvet material that matches these both are being sold in sets of 2. The last photo shows them with one of the blue chairs for sale so you can see they match perfectly. Both chairs have no breaks and are extremely tight with no visible repairs. They do have some scuffing and wear to the finish as you can see in the photos.
