Keep in mind that a slipper chair is much smaller than a traditional chair and the seat is closer to the ground. The mahogany frame is elegantly carved. Legs appear to be intact, I see no cracks or repairs. The bottom of the front legs have a brass trim and the the metal piece that hold the wood wheel to easily facilitate moving the chair around. Beautiful upholstery on this piece as well. I did nothing to clean it. Leaving that to the next owner. All I did was wipe down the piece. The back of the chair has the button to give that great effect and then the flat seat. I do not see a lot of wear or dirt/staining to the upholstery that needs attention. The chair is 27.5" tall. The cushions are on real springs-not ... morethe newer knock offs on plywood and thick foam. They could be designer pieces as they came from the same estate as the Jens Risnom and Girsberger chairs that I have just listed. These are sound and solid with no holes or tears to the original fabric. Fabric is quite thick and durable and rather a golden yellow color. Seat height is 16 1/2" in the front-14 1/2" in the back-so they set an angle and you just sort of lean back into them. Cushioning is still in good shape and they set comfortable. Seat width is 24 1/2" with a depth of 22" Back height is 33" They are pretty clean but you might want to hit them with some upholstery cleaner. I don't see any stains. I need to remove the legs from the seat frame to hold the shipping cost down. To do so I need to remove the staples from the dust liner on the underside to get to the nuts and bolts that hold the legs on. They just bolt right back on with wing nuts for the front and nuts for the rear legs. Upholstery will stay tight as that is on with small nails. Some wear to the mahogany stain finish but not a lot. The needlepoint seat is original with the seat itself featuring springs and padding for comfort. As stated this is a petite chair with the top of the seat measuring 14 inches from the floor. The chair measures 21 inches long by 20 1/2 inches wide and is 38 1/2 inches tall. The wood on this chair is solid walnut and is well preserved and cared for. There are minor portions of surface cracking on what appears to have been some sort of a varnish applied to the front legs. This doesn't affect the wood or quality of the chair. As this chair is in the age range of 150 years old plus. These minor imperfections add to the authenticity of evidence of its true age. This mahogany chair was aquired at an estate sale in Palm Beach Fla. In 1979. Maker and age is unknown. Most likely it dates from 1880s or 1890s. It appears to be hand crafted because of the hand cut dovetails and doweling in the joints Cushion is 15" wide in front. 12" wide in rear. Seat is 17-1/2" above floor. It has had several repairs. All prior to my purchase of the chair that are also many years old. The chair is very solid though and the finish is in exelent condition with no scratches or dents. The seat is covered in faded blue velvet. Not unduly worn. This also appears to be a replacement of the original seat, with unique underside fastenings.Recover the seat with new fabric and padding of your choice and you will have an elegant heirloom piece. Recently picked this item up at an auction. Keep in mind that a slipper chair is much smaller than a traditional chair and the seat is closer to the ground. The mahogany frame is elegantly carved. Legs appear to be intact, I see no cracks or repairs. The bottom of the front legs have a brass trim and the the metal piece that hold the wood wheel to easily facilitate moving the chair around. Beautiful upholstery on this piece as well. I did nothing to clean it. Leaving that to the next owner. All I did was wipe down the piece. The back of the chair has the button to give that great effect and then the flat seat. WALNUT EASTLAKE PARLOR OR SLIPPER CHAIR CIRCA 1880 - GOOD PROJECT CHAIR
This is a sturdy eastlake side chair that was likely part of a parlor set at one time. This is a good project chair for restoration. The chair stands 35" high from the floor to the top of the back rest. The back rest part of the chair is 17" wide and the seat part is 19" wide. The seat sits 17 1/2" off the floor. The front legs are 14" long. The legs attach to a 2" wooden rim and then the upholstered seat bottom. The front legs are lathe turned and the back legs are tapered. The fabric is in good condition although not that attractive. There is a piece of wood chipped off the top of the chair. This is easily repairable. The round piece at the top right of the back is also slightly loose but this also is easily repairable. The finish on the chair is not alligatored and could possibly be cleaned to save the original ... morefinish. I have had success doing this with this type of patina. Here is a beautiful Victorian Slipper Rocking Chair with a unique asymmetrical Rose carving on the top. The exposed wood along the sides and arms is another unique touch that sets this chair apart. The pink upholstery is dirty and I am not sure if it is salvageable. Other than being dirty. The upholstery and pretty pink trim are in very good condition. I don't know anything about identifying furniture wood, but this looks like it is walnut or mahogany to me. The chair is very sturdy and does not wobble and seems to be very well made. The back of the chair is 35 inches high. The rise to the seat is 16 inches high. The seat is 16 inches wide and 18 inches deep. Antique Victorian Carved Walnut Slipper Chair, Rococo, Needlepoint c. 1850-1860
For your consideration is this antique ornately carved walnut rococo parlor Victorian needlepoint(genuine hand stitched) petite slipper chair. It was made circa 1850 to 1860. It features a walnut wooden carved backrest adorned with gothic finials. The needlepoint seat is original with the seat itself featuring springs and padding for comfort. As stated this is a petite chair with the top of the seat measuring 14 inches from the floor. The chair measures 21 inches long by 20 1/2 inches wide and is 38 1/2 inches tall. The wood on this chair is solid walnut and is well preserved and cared for. There are minor portions of surface cracking on what appears to have been some sort of a varnish applied to the front legs. Breathtaking red velvet slipper chair adds instant elegance to any room. Beautifully-carved walnut back. Casters on two front legs. I purchased it in 2009 from a lovely woman who lived on a vineyard in northern California. As she emerged from the mist, she offered me tea and explained how she had just lovingly reupholstered it. I’ve kept it covered by a throw and maybe sat on it twice since. The underside of the seat has always needed a little stitching up, but that’s an easy fix that in no way compromises the beauty of the piece. Hate to part with it— just time for a change. Great smaller open arm slipper chair for your buying consideration. Recently picked this item up at an estate sale and the woman bought it 40 years ago used. Keep in mind that a slipper chair is much smaller than a traditional chair and the seat is closer to the ground. The mahogany frame is elegantly carved. Legs appear to be intact, I see no cracks or repairs. The bottom of the front legs have wheels that are in good working shape and the metal piece that hold the wood wheel to easily facilitate moving the chair around. very rare one of a kind antique quartersawn oak slipper chair
for sale is an antique quartersawn oak slipper chair. i have been messing with antiques as a hobby for nearly 50 years. this is the only slipper chair i have ever seen in oak. some of you may have seen a thousand. i bought this chair years ago and paid 500 for it them. at that time 500 would buy 700 gallons of gasoline. Now 500 will buy about 165 gallons. that surely means something. it is in perfect antique condition. it has the original finish and there are no damages that i can see. it is solid and sturdy and does not wiggle or wobble or squeak. it is perfect. the only thing that is not original is the seat. i expect that seat is about 40 years at least. the original seat may have been caned. this in my opinion is a one of a kind chair. i like one of kind pieces and have accumulated many one of a kind pieces. it is 38 inches tall, 18 inches ... morewide across the front of the seat, the seat is 15 inches deep, and the top of the seat is a little over 13.5 inches off the floor. anyway, i have no use for the chair and just thought i would try to sell it. i am starting it at what i paid 20 plus years ago. it may be picked up at my hone or shipped at buyers expense. i expect it can go ups,usps, or fedex for probably 100.00. good luck. ps. if anyone has or has seen other oak slipper chairs i would be glad to see another one.

Antique Eastlake-Style Walnut and Brocade Slipper Chair, circa 1870
This lovely antique American slipper chair features detailed carving on crest and apron. With inlays of burl for accent. It dates to the 1870s, and is of classic Eastlake design. The rich walnut wood highlights the mellow cream, rust and gold hues of the brocade upholstery. The back is 42" high; the seat is 15" high and 20" wide. The original small metal wheels are functional on the gracefully curved front legs; the arched rear legs do not have wheels by design. Overall condition is excellent, with very small wear marks on one leg and the front apron. The upholstery is in perfect condition; this piece was reupholstered professionally about 50 years ago and has always been carefully handled and protected from sunlight. It was appraised by an Accredited Senior Appraiser(American Society of Appraisers) in 1997 at $900.

Victorian empire transitional balloon back slipper chairs parlor chair suite set
Victorian balloon back chairs from the 18 sixty's or early 1870s era these are walnuts and in extremely good condition they do have old finish. These are upholstered in blue I also have a set that is in a greenish material that matches these both are being sold in sets of 2. The last pic shows them with one of the green chairs so you can see they match perfectly if interested in both sets. Both chairs have no breaks and are extremely tight with no visible repairs. They do have some scuffing and wear to the finish as you can see in the photos.
