The black walnut frames date from the 1860s to 1870s and are very similar. Unless you look closely, you would never know they are not a match as the fabric dominates your eye. One chair has metal castors that are all original and the other chair has wooden castors that appear to be original. The gentleman’s arm chair is in nice condition and I don’t see anything wrong with it. The ladies chair is in good condition with a typical split in the seam in the back that we will tighten up prior to shipping. There are no metal bracing or any poor repairs to the chair.

It was ... moremade circa 1850 to 1860. It features a walnut wooden carved backrest adorned with gothic finials. The needlepoint seat is original with the seat itself featuring springs and padding for comfort. As stated this is a petite chair with the top of the seat measuring 14 inches from the floor. The chair measures 21 inches long by 20 1/2 inches wide and is 38 1/2 inches tall. The wood on this chair is solid walnut and is well preserved and cared for. There are minor portions of surface cracking on what appears to have been some sort of a varnish applied to the front legs. This doesn't affect the wood or quality of the chair. As this chair is in the age range of 150 years old plus. These minor imperfections add to the authenticity of evidence of its true age. Additionally, there are a few tacks missing(about 4) from the seat area which can be viewed in the photos. Shipping: I will package this for shipment and ship via UPS. This item is a beautiful chair. That appears to be, by the research I've done on its design, a late 1800s to early 1900s piece. This could be a rare child's chair based on its size. It could also have had its legs cut, but it doesn't appear to have been. I can find no markings on the chair, but maybe I just don't know where to look. I don't know what the wood is but is in wonderful shape. The top of the seat portion looks like it could use a reapolstering. The legs arms and back are dark colored wood with striking details. This is a beautiful arm chair is in superb condition given that has been in my family for about 140 years. The needlework was done by my great. Great aunt in the 1870's. She gave the chair to my Grandfather as a wedding present in 1900. The chair is American Victorian in the Renaissance sub-style. Having a black walnut frame with carved and reticulated crest, attached pad back, seat, and open arms with carved trim. The legs are reeded with peg feet and casters. NOTE: Due to its size. 39"H, 23"W, 21"D, it is available for local pickup only. There are two minor, pulls in the needlework, as shown in the photos, that are repairable. Solid carved wood frame ~ wood is believed to be walnut, and upholstered in light burgundy or dark raspberry colored velvet fabric. The wood has magnificent carved details both on the inside of the arms, as well as all other exposed wood areas. Please review all photographs provided, as they show more detail. The top crest rail has a center stylized carved clamshell. The knuckles of the arms are detailed with carved. Layered acanthus leaves. The two front legs have trumpeted baluster formation, with metal casters at the bottom. The front nose rail(bottom front) of the chair is heavily carved with scrolled detail. Antique Eastlake Victorian Parlor Wide Arm Chair - Spindles, Ornately Carved
Up for sale is this wonderful antique parlor chair. It is an Eastlake style from the Victorian period. And features light olive-green upholstery with carved spindles under the arms and on either side of the back cushion. The lower back is very nicely carved as well. This chair is in good condition overall. The arms wiggle a little, and although the chair is free of any major damage and free of repair marks, it does show various small nicks. 98% of the grommets are intact and the fabric looks to be original, or at least from around the same period, only showing a few small spots and not much fading. I would consider the fabric above-average for its age, and the wood is around or slightly above-average, considering it is unrestored. It has been conditioned with lemon oil and has a nice, even shine now. Regarding sturdiness, I weigh 160 pounds ... moreand the chair holds me very well. Beautiful Antique Victorian Hand Carved Arm Chair, No Reserve!
This is a beautiful Victorian carved arm chair. In excellent condition. Except for the upholstery, which isn't original anyway. I was going to redo this piece before listing it, but then thought you'd probably want to"decorate" it to your taste. The carvings are all intact, and the finish on the wood itself is also very nice. The only"damage" if it could be called that, is that there are tack holes visible on the legs where the original upholstery was attached. It is evident that the original padded seat went around the legs there, and obviously that's the way you'd want to do it again. Otherwise this chair is very heavy and solid. It measures 47" high, 27" wide, and 30" deep. This item is too big to ship UPS, so I would prefer local pickup only. Low starting bid and no reserve!

Upholstery is faded a bit. But chair is beautiful, and in excellent shape. Carvings are beautiful and padding in excellent condition. The photos show the detail in the carving. One of the roses, as shown in the very detailed photo, has a rose petal missing, which is easy to miss. The structure is quite sound, as I often sat in the chair to read. Due to this piece being older you probably could find some sign of wear, but it will be hard to find. I am helping a friend sell this piece. It has been in his family for many many years. This is an ornate antique Victorian wicker heart back arm chair. It has an elaborate curlicued heart shaped back with bead-work. Reed circles and a center panel with various weave patterns and braiding. It has a set in cane seat which will be replaced. The center finial is finely wrapped reed. The arms are shapely with decorative weave patterns ending in ram's horn curls. The legs have the same weave patterns and end in brass caps. Circa 1890's. This is a solid black walnut Victorian Civil War era arm chair that dates from the 1800s. The most unusual thing that It has a carved bust of a SAILOR ON THE TOP OF THE BACK. The chair itself is all tight and sturdy EXCEPT FOR ONE ARM IS A LITTLE LOOSE. It has cabriole legs. Super carved arm supports, and the medallion back. The fabric is an antique beige with flowers as shown that looks original and shows some fading, but you can actually use it for a while if you’re careful. If this chair is just for looks, it will probably last forever.
