Condition: Used Location: Chicago, United States Available is an antique Heywood Wakefield Victorian wicker chair. It is not a reproduction. I don't know the year it was made. But I was told by an ... moreexperienced antique dealer that it was 19th century. Condition is good. I don't want the chair to sound worse than it is, but I also want to describe any condition issues. It does have a few minor breaks in the gingerbread filigree, but they are very few and very minor and could easily be repaired. I have enjoyed the chair as it is. Considering its age, the chair is in great condition. If I live to be as old as this chair I hope I am in this good condition! The chair measures about 42 inches tall to the top of the chair, the front to back width is about 22 inches, while the left to right width is about 20 inches. Here is a description of the breaks. I don't want this to sound worse than it is. But I want to be accurate. See photos as well. The damage is minor, and mostly is to the curly-cue decorations. It appears that they could be glued. In the case of a missing piece, it would involve a piece of cane and beads. Here it is: at top of the back of seat there is a break at the left and right side. Some wicker"ties" that hold the decorations together are missing. In the middle, there are 2 breaks in the gingerbread, but these could be glued. On the opposite side there is a piece of missing cane and beads. I have seen replacement beads for sale, as well as cane. The wood seat is warped, but I was able to sit in the chair. The seat is still serviceable, but you may want to replace it either with wood or cane. If the chair is turned over the original cane is visible, so this once had a cane seat. There is one curly-cue on the back of the leg that is broken, but it could be glued. As can be seen in the photos, there is some paint loss, however that is to be expected. The wicker underneath on the leg is in fine condition. I am willing to work with you on shipping. However I have made this customer pick-up. To be shipped, this would have to be sent in a

Located on the bottom of the chair is a paper label still visible denoting its authenticity and origin. In terms of condition this piece has been kept in a very good state for something of its age and was obviously only used as a decorative piece. There is minor scuffing on at the foot of the chair as see in the photo but overall there is little to no damage on the sections of wicker. I can see two small old breaks. Antique Heywood Brothers Wakefield Victorian Wicker Settee VGC Ornate 1880-90's Here is a wonderful piece from the late 1800's by the Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company. This piece features some of the most desireable design elements from that era. The vertical side supports for the back of the piece have a triple"Birdcage" design. Lots of curliques and a bead and stick pattern in the center back. The piece is really in terrific condition considering it is probably at least 110 years old. Here are the stats: 39" high and wide to the edge of the armrests. The seat is 34.5" wide and 20" deep. The brass capped feet look to have been wrapped in masking tape at some point and the tape was painted white. The wrap on one leg has been repaired and needs a little more material to completed the repair. One piece ... moreof wrap is loose and the large curlique on one side is damaged(looks like it was chewed) There are one or two other places where on piece of the wrap has been broken or damaged- but. A hand made wicker rocker from the 1840' 1870'All in original and good condition.The detailing and design here are fabulous!This measures 42" high,28" across the arms and a 36" rocker span.The seat is very solid with no repairs,sagging,etc. at all.This is excellent, still in very usable condition with the original patina.The rockers are firm,solid, with no breaks,cracks,repairs or splits.I have used this many a time and it sits and rocks comfortable with no cushions needed. Antique 1800s Fancy Victorian Wicker Chair Original Condition STURDY
c. 1890s Fancy Stick& Ball Wicker Chair ~ Natural Finish There is no label on this chair. But it is entirely typical of the work done by either the Heywood Brothers or the Wakefield Rattan Company, both in Massachusetts, before they combined operations to become the Heywood-Wakefield Company in 1897. It's also entirely possible that it could have been sold with a Heywood-Wakefield label in the year or so following the merger of the two rival companies. This is skinned rattan wrapped around a hardwood frame, and features curlicues, those fancifully curved or spiral figures wound from solid rattan as much as 3/8 inch in diameter. The back of the chairs stands 33" inches from the floor and is 22 1/2 inches wide at its widest point. The seat is 16 inches round in diameter. And stands 17 inches off the floor in the front and 16" ... moreinches off the floor in the rear. The legs are splayed to a distance of 18 1/2" inches back to front, and 18 inches side to side across the front. Yes, this fancy chair is very sturdy. The four brass caps that finish the feet of this chair are all original. And the rattan wrap is all intact. The shellac finish does not appear to be original, but has probably been reshellaced a few times over the years.

Vintage Victorian Antique Wicker Chair Heywood Wakefield Romantic Shabby Cottage
Available is an antique Heywood Wakefield Victorian wicker chair. It is not a reproduction. I don't know the year it was made. But I was told by an experienced antique dealer that it was 19th century. Condition is good. I don't want the chair to sound worse than it is, but I also want to describe any condition issues. It does have a few minor breaks in the gingerbread filigree, but they are very few and very minor and could easily be repaired. I have enjoyed the chair as it is. Considering its age, the chair is in great condition. If I live to be as old as this chair I hope I am in this good condition! The chair measures about 42 inches tall to the top of the chair, the front to back width is about 22 inches, while the left to right width is about 20 inches. Here is a description of the breaks. I don't want this to sound worse ... morethan it is. But I want to be accurate. See photos as well. The damage is minor, and mostly is to the curly-cue decorations. It appears that they could be glued. In the case of a missing piece, it would involve a piece of cane and beads. Here it is: at top of the back of seat there is a break at the left and right side. Some wicker"ties" that hold the decorations together are missing. In the middle, there are 2 breaks in the gingerbread, but these could be glued. On the opposite side there is a piece of missing cane and beads. I have seen replacement beads for sale, as well as cane. The wood seat is warped, but I was able to sit in the chair. The seat is still serviceable, but you may want to replace it either with wood or cane. If the chair is turned over the original cane is visible, so this once had a cane seat. There is one curly-cue on the back of the leg that is broken, but it could be glued. As can be seen in the photos, there is some paint loss, however that is to be expected. Victorian era antique wicker chair. Used by portrait studio photographers from the late 1800s to the early 1900s when photographing children. Six different chair looks are created by removing and/or relocating the arms and the fancy back piece. The chair is in the original condition(it has never been repaired or repainted) But there are some issues that need to be addressed if you want to. We have for sale a C. 1890's Fancy Wicker Chair ~ This Victorian Wicker chair has a Natural Finish that has never been painted. It may be made by Heywood Brothers but it does not have a label. The frame is hardwood construction and it has several curlicues and fanciful cured wicker twists. The back of the chair stands 32" tall by 28 1/2" across at the arms. The chair is about 18" in depth. The chair is in very good over all shape. It has had a few breaks and losses. However it is basically in very good condition. The seat is still good. The wicker seat has come loose at a point in the back, and needs to have the spline tapped back down to repair. The leg on the left has got a loose binding, it just needs to be re-attached. This is an ornate antique Victorian wicker heart back arm chair. It has an elaborate curlicued heart shaped back with bead-work. Reed circles and a center panel with various weave patterns and braiding. It has a set in cane seat which will be replaced. The center finial is finely wrapped reed. The Heywood Antique Victorian Wicker Boardwalk Rolling Wheel Chair This antique rolling wicker chair is what is know as a boardwalk chair. This chair seems to be rare as it has a steering rod. It also has a leather seat. This chair measures about 51" tall by about 58" long by about 26" wide. There is a metal tag on the back of the seat which reads. The Heywood" Overall in very good condition. There ear some expected signs of age and useage and damage to the wicker in a few places. The steering rod appears not to be connected to the front wheel as it doesn't turn it. It also appears this chair may have been. At least, partially restored at some time. Please see pictures. Chairs such as this were used in places like The Atlantic City Boardwalk. The World's Fair, etc. It was the only mode of transportation allowed"on ... morethe boardwalks" with the pedestrians.
