These are two victorian cane chairs for sale. As the photos show. One is in good condition, with only issue being a section of the cane seating that has become stretched out. Still quite comfortable and stable. The other chair needs to be completely remade. It has been painted black. And the cane seating is completely ripped. It also may need to be sanded, since the wood has some sun damage, and some slight splintering had just started to occur. A Set Of 4 Gorgeous Antique Victorian Parlor/Dining Chairs. The chairs are beautifully designed. With a slight balloon backing that tapers to a sleek wasteline. Victorian era. Circa 1870's-1890'S. THIS AUCTION IS FOR ALL 4 CHAIRS. This style was very popular during the Rococo revival period of the late 19th century(toward the end of the victorian era) And these are great examples of a later Rococo Design. Though it's possible they were from the earlier part of the Rococo revival period. The frames are a solid hardwood. Almost surely maple, though victorian era furniture is not my expertise, and I'm not familiar with various stains that may create a lighter look to a typically darker wood. And the patina is intact on the chairs, particularly the armchair(where the patina was not disturbed due to the arms of the chair preventing pants or other clothing from contacting it during regular use) One chair has some loose joints. And the seat springs need to be redone. But nothing other than reconditioning the chair. A different chair had the top 2 inches of wood broken at some point. And has been repaired, but is hardly noticable. The armchair has a repaired break on the left arm. But is completely stable and shows no visible weakness. It has one small loose joint on the other arm. But this is very slight, just needs to be re-affixed with a furniture glue or lacquer. This pair of French Charles X Fauteuils herald from the first years of the 19th Century. Crafted of solid beech under layers of wax, the surfaces exhibit a fine patina and warmth; covered in an early velvet, almost certainly replaced some time ago, the textile is worn and mellowed. The result is quite visually striking. The form is distinctly Neoclassical. A clear development of the taste of Louis XVI forms in a post-Napoleonic era. The chairs maintain an utterly square profile, the square backs framed in a plain molded frame crested by a large single flower with foliage flowing outward. Pair of 19th Century Boudoir/Slipper Chairs
I was told by the woman I purchased these from that they were never sat in. No one was even allowed to touch them! And you can tell. They are immaculate. Which is amazing since they are over a 100 years old. There is indication of one other upholstery underneath, but it predates this woman's ownership. The fabric on the chairs is a wonderful creamy color-hard to tell from the light in my photos. I believe it is linen. There are sage buttons and sage beading around the edges. The chairs sit on long mahogany legs with casters-also in perfect condition. Each chair is slightly different from its mate, the true sign that they are hand made, not factory produced. They are so lovely. 32" tall. Seat is 22" wide and 17 1/2" deep. Back is 19" high. Ships Greyhound.

These chairs have comfortable tied coil spring seats. Condition: the oak frames are in very good condition with a nice warm patina. The leather shows normal signs of use and wear, but is not dry, or cracked. All the backs are in excellent condition. The seats are in good condition, except for one chair, where retying of the springs and rebuilding of the seat should probably be done. In the very early 20th Century the six chairs had their foundations rebuilt& corner seat support blocks replaced. Support blocks were usually made of pine or poplar and disintegrate over a century or so. Genuine 19th Century Indian Cart Wheel Chairs of Wood and Brass
These are two beautiful chairs which were created from re-purposed 19th century wooden carts from India. The chairs come in two parts. With the"seat" of standard size and approximately 48 inches long. The piece which is the back rest and the wheel base is a little more than 36" tall. The seat, the back rest and all surfaces including the wheels are decorated in ornate brass plate and hammered fittings. They are truly a work of great artistry! I bought them some years ago from an Indian gentleman who dealt in very rare antiques. They are in absolutely mint condition. On the edge of one of the seats. There is a slight discoloration as the brass has rusted a bit over the years, but this only adds to the overall patina. They are sometimes used in meditation rooms and are very comfortable. Antique 2 French Ladies' Chairs.Hand-painted Cherub& Lady Medallion in Hand Caned Backs I am offering a pair of antique ladies' chairs in need of restoration. The finish is original and in good condition. Chair frames look and feel solid. I believe that all the art work is hand painted. One chair back was re-caned in 1980 and is in good condition. The caned seats were replaced with custom made bottoms as shown.In 1970s. The Cherub medallion was hand sewn to material and then sewn onto the arm chair in order to prevent its loss when put into storage.
