They are also a bit darker and I'm guessing the wood is mahogany. The wood on the other 6 might be cherry but again I am guessing and don't know for sure what the wood is. While the machine bit the dust long ago. This Herman Sperlich designed chair is as good today as it was when manufactured in the 1950's. Sperlich is credited with creating one of, if not the very first ergonomic chair. This one has the original off-white paint and Ironrite decal on back of the backrest, but there's no mistaking this chair even if it didn't have it's decal. The metal. Pivoting backrest sits low on your spine to provide superior lumbar support and to dramatically reduce lower back pain caused by extended periods of sitting. Here is an absolutely delightful find. a set of six heavy carved oak chairs with shell. Leaves and other carvings including column front legs and rush bottom seats, imported through Edinburgh, Scotland and in a Henry II style, these most probably were manufactured there in Scotland or perhaps England in the early to mid-twentieth century. I have noted in my description of condition above that three of the rush bottom seats on this set is broken through, and simply replaced at present with a wood board underneath the seat cushion. I have taken this into account and am selling these chairs"as is" for a great price for someone looking to invest a little love into bringing them back to their full glory by replacing the seats. These side dining chairs stand 37 inches tall and measure 17 inches wide by 16 1/2 inches front to back. Up for auction is a vintage rare lot of 2 1961 Leg O Matic Folding chairs. One chair has original yellow sticker marked Nov 15 1961 with instructions on how to open and close the chair. One caning has a rip as shown on far right top. Cover on each chair is a yellow white color that needs cleaning. There is a small tear on one chair. Both chairs open and close with ease. May need some grease in joints to make sure chair completely is secure in the joints when upright. Still sturdy and secure. There is fading and marks on both chairs. Listing tonight is a great matching pair of wicker rockers from the 1930's. They feature high back wrap around form fitting arms. The back sides and backrest feature a black diamond design. This set lived up in the lakes region of new hampshire. They were at an estate of an elderly couple. The first chair is all original and was repainted with high quality paints. The second was rescued from the barn because someone had plopped through the seat and the rockers were missing. I remade new rockers and repaired the seat. It was done with old stock material. New supports were added under the seat. It was also painted to match. Up close you can tell there are repairs to the seat. 2 new cushions were made using vintage fabric. They are included and ad a touch of color. They are very comfortable and are a hard to find design. They rock like nobody's ... morebusiness This is not perfect wicker and they have some splints missing and the mentioned repairs. If you are looking for perfection these are not for you but if you love reclaiming pieces and bringing them back to life they may be for you. Up for auction is a lovely child's wooden rocker. I have listed it as antique/vintage because it is not marked with a company logo so I am unsure of the age. The fabric it is upholstered with seems to be pretty old. It has a colonial design with the White House and year 1792 on it. The chair measures 23 inches high and it's legs are 21 inches long. It is a nice sturdy chair in good condition. The fabric could use a good cleaning it is dingy. I am not sure the best way to go about this, so I am selling as is. Here is one exceptional rocking chair! It is an oak upholstered rocker that is in wonderful condition. I bought this chair about twenty years ago and had it professionaly reupholstered a few years ago. We have really not used this chair much and it is in the best condition ever. Vintage Steel Industrial Leather Seat Chair in Red Machine Age This is a very interesting old Machine age or Industrial steel frame chair with a hard leather seat. I am unable to find a manufacturers mark anywhere on the chair. I purchased the chair along with 4 others of the same type at a garage sale and I was told they came out of the GE plant in Syracuse NY. The chairs measure 18 inches tall at the seat the seats measure 15 3/8 inches roughly square The back rest rises 14 inches above the seat. The back rest is adjustable by about 2 inches and the legs are also adjustable by as much as 8 inches. Even the depth of the back rest can be adjusted. The chairs are sill very solid and sound but they have seen a lot of hard use. There is a lot of chipped paint but the chairs are still solid. Even the hard leather seat looks original and in relatively ... moregood condition. The screws that secure the legs are not all original, some take a flat screwdriver and some take Phillips. These are some pretty cool looking chairs and in my research i could find none like them on the internet. The paint is not original. The silver paint on the feet comes off fairly easily. Estimated shipping weight: 25 pounds. These can actually be made fairly compact and be shipped USPS fairly reasonably. This would probably be cheapest to ship via Greyhound freight shipping if you purchase more than 1 chair. I was told that reupholstering does not effect value as it's a very common practice and whoever did it was smart enough to leave the underside all original. The settee and chair are hand carved. Hand inlay with many different woods and with mother of pearl! They have hand carved ball and claw feet and very unique shapes. That more then makes up for ugly fabric. William and Mary Period Jacobean Style Side Chair Early 18th Century. England, Composed of Old Parts Description: This beautiful chair has a gorgeous golden glow to the wood throughout. It features a pierced crest with delicately carved scrolling designs. The crest is joined by two carefully turned pillars that run parallel on either side of the caned back. The pillars turn into the back legs. Which dowel into the frame of the chair before terminating plainly in two squared legs. The frame of the seat is plain undecorated oak, with a partially intact cane seat- the frame is not original to the chair and has been clearly rebuilt. The front legs are turned and shaped. The piece is framed with a turned H Stretcher, with a second turned stretcher running between the back to legs. The patina across the piece is light and even. I have for sale one fully functioning vintage/antique excellent condition chair. I had purchased a complete Dental equiptment arrangement at a substantial cost. My interest was in the articulating arms. The only way to get these items was to make a package purchase. This chair would be perfect in a tatoo shop. Barber shop, hair salon type setting. I believe it is from the 30's or possibly earlier. It is complete and functions. All articulating parts are complete and operational. Antique homemade wooden childs chair. 1920's era. It has a 11 1/2" x10" seat, measuring 10" from the floor, the back is 19" tall. Inside the seat it is filled with shredded newspaper also inside, there is a old metal jar lid covering a knot hole, the top of the seat is covered with tan colored naugahyde, it is attached with big furniture tacks. The over all condition is well used, what one might expect with something that is this old. There are scratches and scars through the chair, it is an estate find and is in the same condition as I found it. Antique Simmons Company Patent Pending Folding Wood Slat Chairs LQQK!
I have 3 folding chairs that are made by the Simmons Company sometime around the turn of the century. They are in good condition given their age. And are still solid to sit in. They read"Simmons Company USA Patent Pending" on the back. I have read what I can find on the internet about these chairs, and I find one person that said that theirs read patented 1893 which would make mine slightly earlier. The other person said that Simmons began making folding chairs in 1926 which would date mine to that date. Either way, they are nice, solid, old chairs. Good luck!

Large Ornate Antique Heywood-Wakefield Victorian/Edwardian Wicker Rocker c. 1900
Valued eBay Customers: T his item is FOR LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY- NO SHIPPING. Offered is an antique. Wicker rocker from Heywood-Wakefied. It is circa 1900 and had its original tag. It measures about 38" tall. 27" wide at the widest spot(arms) and 34" deep(length of rocker runners) It is dark walnut brown in color. Rocker runners are made of bird's eye maple. Original Heywood-Wakefield tag is still on the back of the seat(see photo) CONDITION: The chair is in great. Overall, antique condition. As an item that is over 100 years old, it does have some condition issues that I will go over here. T he chair had some damage to the seat which was repaired by an antiques refinishing and repair professional that I have trusted for years to work on my antique furniture. This damage included a split in the back of the seat which was repaired ... morewith epoxy and filled. It has had the caning in the seat replaced and colored to blend with the rest of the chair. The right arm was also loose at the base of the seat and has been reset firmly into place with epoxy. In fact. It is even more solid that the other arm which has some slight movement if you wiggle it, but is secure. The repaired arm does have some missing cane at the bottom, but does not detract greatly in my opinion and could be repaired if you wish. There is no other broken or missing whicker which is amazing for a large piece of this vintage. There is a bit of wood missing underneath on a leg where one rung is glued in but cannot be seen unless you turn the chair over. The entire piece has been refinished. Please see photos for pictures of the condition items discussed. Note: While this rocker is structurally sound. I would recommend that its delicate, antique nature be taken into consideration when used. It may not support larger people or rough usage. We are a smoke-free. Adult only environment. Antique 1940s- 1950s solid maple rocking chair by C H Hartshorn of Mass. Still rocks beautifully. Very smooth. Strong springs don't make a sound(see photographs for the quality workmanship and hardware) Chair weighs about 55 pounds. Extremely solid and safe for children as well. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.
