N.H. This exceptional rocking chair is made of rattan. Reed, and cane. It is in very good antique condition. The chair used to have a caned seat and back. When the center cane pieces broke. Possibly because Jessie stood on it, a wooden seat was placed over the top of the original caned seat. That seat has holes some of which form at star. The cane remnants are under the wooden seat as shown in the 10th picture. It does have some other condition issues. None of these issues affects the chair's stability. There are several pieces of wound reed missing. Examples are shown in photos 6-8. One area has been bound with copper wire soldered into place. There are a couple of other areas along the chair's arms where the reed binding is broken or is missing. This is simply a stunning and authentic child's reed. Caned rocker that is 133 years old! As of the time I listed this rocking chair. Another Ebay seller was selling a envelope and stamp postmarked 1885 by the chair's makers Conant& Bush. This rocking chair is approx. 23" high. Across the arms the chair is 17 1/2" The back is 15 1/2" high and 15 7/8" wide.

Late C19th Antique Victorian Elm Bergere Cane Steamer Sun Louger Armchair
Offering a wonderful late Victorian elm steamer style bergere cane armchair dating to the end of the 19th century. This good example has an elm frame which can be folded out to provide a relaxed position seat similar to a sun lounger with cane supports and foot support. The frame is solid with all cane in very good condition- the chair is fully useable. We have tested it out and although it squeaks a little when sitting down it seems to take the weight well and is very comfortable. A wonderful item to use or to place as an accent with a lovely throw or pillow. We have for sale this lovely antique Victorian childs hoop backed windsor rocking chair. The piece dates to around 1880 and is made of oak and elm. The piece is very well built and stands 71cm/28" tall by 38cm/15" by 51cm/20" at the base. The condition is very good for its age with a small split to the front of the seat and some historic woodworm hole the underneath of the seat. None of the above affects the look or use of the chair. Set of 8 English country dining chairs These well-matched chairs date from the late 19th Century. A classic British stick back design. They were handcrafted in England. It's uncommon even in England to find a set of eight, and exceedingly rare to find any on this side of the pond. They retain their original finish. Constructed of beech or poplar wood, the chair have slab seats of with distinctive elm woodgrain. While the main joints' glue is in sound condition, the chairs will need some attention on a seat split and a rung. This is a good traditional set of chairs. They have a good natural patina, they have not been stripped and would be the perfect addition to any authentic farmhouse kitchen. The chairs are 3r" high at the back.
