The solid walnut table top rests on a walnut conforming table apron with drop carvings on all four sides. The table is raise up on four wide out-swept carved walnut legs with burl walnut accents of each leg and casters intact on all four feet, with a substantial turned walnut pedestal at the center with a drop finial. The black walnut frames date from the 1860s to 1870s and are very similar. Unless you look closely, you would never know they are not a match as the fabric dominates your eye. One chair has metal castors that are all original and the other chair has wooden castors that appear to be original. The gentleman’s arm chair is in nice condition and I don’t see anything wrong with it. The ladies chair is in good condition with a typical split in the seam in the back that we will tighten up prior to shipping. There are no metal bracing or any poor repairs to the chair.

But they also could be mahogany as ... moreI am not an expert on my wood types. Chairs were recovered and restored back in the 20's or 30's with the current needlepoint upholstery they have now. The upholstery is in nice shape and free of damage. Minor cleaning may be needed as they have sat in one spot unused for many years. Both chairs still sit nicely. And comfortably, with no noticeable wear to the seating. The backs of the chairs are faded(pictured) But since the pics were taken they have BEEN REFINISHED so they now look, and match with the rest of the chair. When looking really closely at the wood you can see a couple spots where the chairs were professionally repaired in the past. Currently the arms on the chairs are loose where they meet the back. The legs are all solid and sturdy with no cracks or breaks that I can find. The there are some minor bumps and knicks here and there on the wood, consistent with age, nothing too bad though, and nothing that couldn't be cleaned up/ refinished, if you felt it was needed. The front legs on both chairs have casters to easily move them about. Antique armchairs measure 26" wide. 23" deep, and 41" tall. I am selling these chairs for an older friend of mine. These chairs originally belonged to his mom who lived to be in her 100s. And he is now in his early 80s, so you can rest assured that these are not Post 1950's reproductions. WALNUT EASTLAKE PARLOR OR SLIPPER CHAIR CIRCA 1880 - GOOD PROJECT CHAIR
This is a sturdy eastlake side chair that was likely part of a parlor set at one time. This is a good project chair for restoration. The chair stands 35" high from the floor to the top of the back rest. The back rest part of the chair is 17" wide and the seat part is 19" wide. The seat sits 17 1/2" off the floor. The front legs are 14" long. The legs attach to a 2" wooden rim and then the upholstered seat bottom. The front legs are lathe turned and the back legs are tapered. The fabric is in good condition although not that attractive. There is a piece of wood chipped off the top of the chair. This is easily repairable. The round piece at the top right of the back is also slightly loose but this also is easily repairable. The finish on the chair is not alligatored and could possibly be cleaned to save the original ... morefinish. I have had success doing this with this type of patina. This chair can most likely be shipped via Greyhound or UPS. Local pick up is always welcomed. Email with any questions. Payment through Pay Pal is due at the time of sale.

Pair of Victorian Parlor Chairs (c/1875) -- walnut w/ new upholstery
I inherited this set of lovely Victorian parlor chairs from my parents in 1975. They had been given to them in 1945 from the estate of two sisters who lived next door. The sisters and their parents had lived in the same house since around 1875. Thus. I believe the chairs are about 125 years old. I had the chairs completely reupholstered and recovered when I redecorated our home in 1996-97. Since then I have kept them covered with heavy cotton dust covers(see photos) which are included. The chairs were displayed on a balcony over the foyer and have not been used for seating. I'm a private seller; not a dealer. Thus. Edwardian Era French Style Carved Walnut Parlor Chair
Please read terms of sale! Really beautiful French styled carved walnut chair in a light wood tone. Here are the chair measurements: 35 3/4" high. From floor to top middle of back. 19" wide seat measured at widest part. 16" from floor to seat bottom(low slung chair) 16" wide seat back at widest part. The upholstery is not original on this chair. It is gold crushed velvet in excellent clean condition and it has been sprayed and vacuumed(no dirt so did not need to be cleaned) It looks nice on the chair, but this piece could also be easily reupholstered. The construction of the chair is excellent- very solid with no loose or wobbly joints. I have photographed the bottom of the chair to show you with my flash the construction of the chair- it is a spring tied chair which may be original and it has a good spring to it and comfortable ... moreto sit in. Just a nice side chair in a bedroom or boudoir. It has a couple of minor dings. See photos, consistent with age. See photos and examine them for a full story. I believe this chair is American made. It is a gorgeous set that could be used as a dining room set or as a sitting parlor set. The chairs are in outstanding condition. They have recently been reupholstered in the last 5 years in a gorgeous floral fabric. They went to town on it. They did a nice job on the chairs. They even cushioned and wrapped the arm chair on the arms. The chairs themselves are a work of art. They have a burl walnut panel on the back. Down the side post, across the front skirt, and multi-turnings on the legs and wonderful detail carvings across the backs. The overall size of the side chairs are 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 38 inches to the top of the chair back, and 18 inches high to the seat. The arm chair or master chair is 23 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 40 inches to the top of the carved crest, and 17 inches high to the seat. The chairs are all tight and sturdy. Here is another amazing Victorian parlor chair. This one is carved walnut with very nice salmon colored velvet upholstery. I do not believe this is the original upholstery but it is not new either, please note wear on arms especially and on the seat, as shown clearly in photographs- if you do not like wear on fabric and do not plan to reupholster please do not bid on this piece. The wear is consistent with age and use and I think it adds to the chair's charm. The chair is comfortable and tight. No odors. Perhaps needs a cleaning but in fact there is no visible dirt on the chair. The measurements are: 38" HIGH. 25 1/2" WIDE at WIDEST PART OF SEAT. 19 1/2" DEEP SEAT. 13" FROM BOTTOM OF SEAT TO FLOOR. Chairs measure 38-1/2" tall by 21" deep by 21" wide, the seats 20" wide by 17" deep. Excellent condition: walnut without chips or cracks, original finish, minor scuffs to backs where rested against a wall. All inlays and ebonized finish complete. I notice on very minor imperfection- an old crack/ repair on one of the bracket arm supports-shown in my last pic. This is superficial and not something that would be noticed unless viewing closeup with scrutiny. The chairs are strong and sturdy. The wood is in excellent shape, appear to have been refinished by someone who really knew what they were doing. Any wear is most minor- no real issues. With all this said- these are not chairs intended to be used by someone of extreme weight or size. They are basically the side of a dining room chair- smaller in size when compared to a arm chair or something of that nature. Use my measurements and your common sense. Pair Antique 1875-1890 Parlor Chairs American Walnut Carved Back
Chesapeake Treasures Hospice Consignment Store asked me to sell donations to benefit Hospice of the Chesapeake. A former appraiser for the Antique Roadshow provided the information on these chairs. Offered here are a pair of antique American walnut Victorian parlor chairs. She dates then to between 1875-1890 at which time there was a walnut blight that killed the walnut trees. They have a carved arched back and gracefully curved legs. They have been freshly upholster in a pretty green. They measure 35 inches tall. 19 inches wide and deep and the seat is 18 inches off the floor. Pictures 6 and 7 show repairs, one for each chair. The upholstery was professionally done and the chairs are sturdy. They are a lovely find. The appraiser said they were easily worth $195 each. 2 ANTIQUE WALNUT? VICTORIAN SIDE CHAIRS ORNATE FLORAL ROSES DINING PARLOR
For sale is this lovely pair of side chairs from a very old VA estate. I do not know when they were made or by whom. I believe they are Walnut but I do not know for sure. The frame of these chairs is carved and very ornate. It has flowers and roses carved into it and the back cushion is not the standard round or square but rather a unique shape. They are currently upholstered in a gold and blue striped fabric that I believe is the original fabric. The upholstery is in need of repair(see photos) One chair has a repair in the upper right corner(see photos) Dimensions of chairs are as follows: 37 inches high from floor to the top of chair; seat height is 17 1/2 inches; 18 inches deep; and 18 inches wide. These chairs are absolutely stunning and just need a little tlc to bring them back to their original grandeur. Have some scuffs from usage ... moreand age.
