These rarely come up for sale and the last one on ebay was about 4 months ago and ended with a"reserve not met" at $1221. There are a few currently listed in the $2000-4000 range elsewhere. Unfortunately. Our new house doesn't have the space for it! This one is in very good vintage condition and has been reupholstered at some point in the past. The upholstery is in perfect condition with no tears/pulls/stains/smells and I'm pretty sure it's an expensive WOOL fabric. It features a geometric pattern in blue and yellow(the color mix makes it look greenish from a bit further back) The foam is still very soft which leads me to believe it was replaced when the chair was reupholstered. There are a few minor scuffs on the walnut base but they're barely noticeable. I don't think they're worth sanding/re-polying. The back measures 31 inches high from the ground. Seat width is 24 inches(28 inches outside of arms total) The depth of the chair is ~33 inches. While the rocker base measures 32 inches deep. The height to the top of the armrests measure 24 inches. Local pickup is preferred. But I can work with your shipping company of choice to get this to you. I know a lot of people use TSC Moving to ship furniture safely( Because of the value. Condition: Used Location: Chicago, United States Available is an antique Heywood Wakefield Victorian wicker chair. It is not a reproduction. I don't know the year it was made. But I was told by an ... moreexperienced antique dealer that it was 19th century. Condition is good. I don't want the chair to sound worse than it is, but I also want to describe any condition issues. It does have a few minor breaks in the gingerbread filigree, but they are very few and very minor and could easily be repaired. I have enjoyed the chair as it is. Considering its age, the chair is in great condition. If I live to be as old as this chair I hope I am in this good condition! The chair measures about 42 inches tall to the top of the chair, the front to back width is about 22 inches, while the left to right width is about 20 inches. Here is a description of the breaks. I don't want this to sound worse than it is. But I want to be accurate. See photos as well. The damage is minor, and mostly is to the curly-cue decorations. It appears that they could be glued. In the case of a missing piece, it would involve a piece of cane and beads. Here it is: at top of the back of seat there is a break at the left and right side. Some wicker"ties" that hold the decorations together are missing. In the middle, there are 2 breaks in the gingerbread, but these could be glued. On the opposite side there is a piece of missing cane and beads. I have seen replacement beads for sale, as well as cane. The wood seat is warped, but I was able to sit in the chair. The seat is still serviceable, but you may want to replace it either with wood or cane. If the chair is turned over the original cane is visible, so this once had a cane seat. There is one curly-cue on the back of the leg that is broken, but it could be glued. As can be seen in the photos, there is some paint loss, however that is to be expected. The wicker underneath on the leg is in fine condition. I am willing to work with you on shipping. However I have made this customer pick-up. To be shipped, this would have to be sent in a

Probably this rocker is far earlier than the date in the heading. It comes from northern Minnesota where many immigrants came from Scandinavian countries. Some of their craftsmen emulated American styles yet here we see their influence also. Note the splay of the legs. Which manifests how a chair became a rocker thus a rocking-chair. The ladder backs cross members are quaintly hand carved and, charmingly, one post is taller than the other with variances to the elongated acorn finials. This chair was probably refinished in the mid twentieth century and its rush seat was replaced and is done very well. Up for Auction is a Super Nice Press Back Quarter sawn oak Child's rocker with the steamer USS Maine Embossed on its back. Rocker has all of its original spindles in it and rocker is tight. What can be read clearly says BURDETTE Keene, N. H. According to the"History of Cheshire County, NH" George Burdette began manufacturing chairs in Keene in 1872. It is in good condition: all rungs in place, no damage to the rockers but has a crack on the left arm where it attaches to the back. It was repaired with a nail many years ago. The arm is secure. The chair stands 29" in height to the top rail on the back, measures 18" from arm to arm across the front and the seat is 10 1/2" from the floor. Antique Child's Wood Rocking Chair Rocker Circa Early-Mid 1800's, Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE What a wonderful find! It is a child’s armless rocking chair. It is done in a simple utilitarian style. As was typical of pieces produced in the early– mid 1800’s. We are not sure what wood was used to create this wonderful piece. It takes on the look and feel of a simple sewing rocker. Only in a smaller child’s size. We can find no maker mark on the chair. But it appears to be hand-crafted, based on the following: Marks of the tools used by the craftsman are evident in the legs. Spindles, backside of the back ends, seat, and both sides of the rocker base. The wood pegs used to join the wood on the seat are crude. The concealed sides and spindles have a somewhat rough finish, and the original nails appear to be blacksmith ... moreforged nails. The chair had a mustard paint finish. Either originally painted in that color, or at one point in its life. This color is consistent with paint colors used when the chair was made. But we cannot be certain if it is original to the chair or had been painted sometime after. Either way. It is a very old paint and is almost entirely naturally worn off, leaving a great patina. Because this is old paint. We cannot guarantee it does not contain lead, so we would not recommend using this for a young child. It measures approximately 21.25” H x 12.25” W x 16” D. Available for UPS shipping or for pick-up in our Hunterdon County. New Jersey store. Condition: Good used condition for its age. There is a chip in the headrest. T he two screws that hold the headrest to the chair are not original. Though we believe the headrest is. We don’t know when the screws were replaced(most likely the screws replaced nails) but they are modern screws. We are not certain if the chair was painted in the mustard paint color when it was made or at some time after. The color is a color used in the 1800’s. But since this appears to be hand-crafted and we have no product reference to base it on, we

It now has a beautiful wax finish to preserve the wood. Circa is 1830 and it has the original splint oak seat in excellent condition. The maple rockers have been newly replaced but all else is in great original condition! The rockers were so worn down from years of loving use that it would not rock smoothly. Hence, the reason for the need to replace the rockers! An awesome old old Oak Shaker Style Rocker!
