Charming Antique Victorian Parlor Chair with Tufted Back
This is a beautiful mid 19th century green velvet Victorian Parlor chair with a tufted back. It stands 39 1/2" tall and is 19 3/4" wide on the seat. It has 2 wheels on the front legs but no wheels on the back legs. As you can see underneath the chair is in real good condition and the chair sits well. The wood is solid. Sturdy and beautiful. There is very minor markings on the wood. There are a couple of stains on the velvet as you can see in the photo's please look at the pictures well it will tell you the best description of the chair as I try to take a picture of every angle please contact me if you have any concerns. You will also see what looks to be fading but it's where I was trying to clean off the velvet and I used water which you are not suppose to do. The joints seem a little loose but are sturdy with a little play and gap in the arms. The upholstery needs to be changed as it is worn on the seat and arms. It has casters on all four legs that are solid brass. The wood finish is a light brown with nice carvings on the chair front and arms. Looks like a repair where the arm meets the back. Antique Eastlake Victorian Parlor Wide Arm Chair - Spindles, Ornately Carved
Up for sale is this wonderful antique parlor chair. It is an Eastlake style from the Victorian period. And features light olive-green upholstery with carved spindles under the arms and on either side of the back cushion. The lower back is very nicely carved as well. This chair is in good condition overall. The arms wiggle a little, and although the chair is free of any major damage and free of repair marks, it does show various small nicks. 98% of the grommets are intact and the fabric looks to be original, or at least from around the same period, only showing a few small spots and not much fading. I would consider the fabric above-average for its age, and the wood is around or slightly above-average, considering it is unrestored. It has been conditioned with lemon oil and has a nice, even shine now. Regarding sturdiness, I weigh 160 pounds ... moreand the chair holds me very well. The arm span is unusually wide, measuring 32 inches from the outside, left to right. Floor to top measures 34 inches; seat height is 17 inches; and the depth measures 23 inches. Carved Walnut Victorian Parlor Chair w/ Velvet Upholstery
Here is another amazing Victorian parlor chair. This one is carved walnut with very nice salmon colored velvet upholstery. I do not believe this is the original upholstery but it is not new either, please note wear on arms especially and on the seat, as shown clearly in photographs- if you do not like wear on fabric and do not plan to reupholster please do not bid on this piece. The wear is consistent with age and use and I think it adds to the chair's charm. The chair is comfortable and tight. No odors. Perhaps needs a cleaning but in fact there is no visible dirt on the chair. The measurements are: 38" HIGH. 25 1/2" WIDE at WIDEST PART OF SEAT. 19 1/2" DEEP SEAT. 13" FROM BOTTOM OF SEAT TO FLOOR. I will use Greyhound for large or oddly shaped items. And this may be less expensive than UPS Ground quoted here- although ... moreyou have to pick it up at a Greyhound terminal near you. It may cost between $55-75 delivered by Greyhound to the Eastern seaboard, more across country and substantially more west of the Miss. river. Being presented for sale is this splendid Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut Needlepoint Parlor Armchair circa 1875.This lovely 19th century chair boasts of beautiful floral needlepoint. Rich walnut wood with detailed carvings and the original casters intact on the front ring turned legs. This fine 19th century chair measures 42 inches in height to the top of the back. Width arm to arm of 23 1/2 inches,seat width of 19 1/2 inches, seat depth of 21 inches and seat height of 16 inches and weighs approximately 25 lbs. This chair is solid and very sturdy with no breaks or repairs we can find and the old needlepoint covering is just lovely but does show some wear and some fading as common with age.
