Conditions: as seen, the legs are slightly wobbly, but very fixable, generally a very solid little chair. Antique Dutch or German Solid Silver Dolls House Miniature Arm Chair circa 1890
Antique Dutch or German Solid Silver Dolls House Miniature European 17th Century Arm Chair circ 1890 This Antique Dolls House Miniature Arm Chair measures approximately 1 3/8 inches or 35 mm across the width of the seat from side to side by 1 1/4 inches or 32 mm across the depth of the chair from the back to the front and it stands 2 3/8 inches or 60 mm tall to the top of the chair back. The chair is made from 32.7 grams of solid silver in a delightful 17th century European shape that stands on four paw shaped feet that are at the base of its front and rear pierced and raised relief decorated bracket style legs that are connected by a rail on either side. The chair has a plain seat with scrolled arms that have raised relief decorated top rails with paw shaped ends and the chair back has also been raised relief decorated with a stylized lions ... morehead on either side of a cherub or angelic child's face. The chair back and arms have also been intricately decorated with scrolling silver filigree wire and the chair has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below. Although we have found no silver marks as such the chair has been tested and it is guaranteed as being made from solid silver, however one of the side rails has been impressed with the letter N that is along side the letters IR and I think that this is a late Victorian German Hanau Pseudo mark or an early Dutch mark. I estimate that this dolls house miniature arm chair was made in Europe circa 1880- 1900 but it may be a lot older. The condition is used and near Mint for its age. The chair has No Dents. No Splits, No Cracks, No Holes and No Repairs that I can find, the chair stands upright, the decoration and definition is very crisp, the impressed marks are still legible although as the chair is a used antique it does have the obvious signs that it was hand made and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a good clean would enhance it gr

This is a beautiful antique hoop/sewing rocker circa 1860 that was made with low arms to accommodate the ladies with wide hoop skirts and their sewing. It is in really good shape for being 150 years old with the exception of the following 2 items. The caning in the seat has 1 very small hole(see pic) One of the pieces on one of the arms shows signs of a previous attempted repair(see pic) All other wood on the chair is in very good shape. WALNUT EASTLAKE PARLOR OR SLIPPER CHAIR CIRCA 1880 - GOOD PROJECT CHAIR
This is a sturdy eastlake side chair that was likely part of a parlor set at one time. This is a good project chair for restoration. The chair stands 35" high from the floor to the top of the back rest. The back rest part of the chair is 17" wide and the seat part is 19" wide. The seat sits 17 1/2" off the floor. The front legs are 14" long. The legs attach to a 2" wooden rim and then the upholstered seat bottom. The front legs are lathe turned and the back legs are tapered. The fabric is in good condition although not that attractive. There is a piece of wood chipped off the top of the chair. This is easily repairable. The round piece at the top right of the back is also slightly loose but this also is easily repairable. The finish on the chair is not alligatored and could possibly be cleaned to save the original ... morefinish. I have had success doing this with this type of patina. Antique Chippendale Chair Circa 1870-1890
Coral Gables Estate From a nonsmoking home You may pick this up in Key Largo This chair is a Chippendale style chair with a winged crest or turned up extremeties. In an original Chippendale. The ends would extend a good two inches; the ends of the crest rail are fluted, the center has a flute or shell-like motif. The open wood back splat has a vasiform look; the side posts are straight and are connected to the seat rail as is the bottom of the vasiform back splat. The crest rail is a Victorian interpretation of Chippendale's ribbon back which would have continued on to the back splat. The arms are curved and extend outward and have fluted hand rests. The upholstery is beige/light tan with a vertical pattern of flowers; the apron is wide and straight; the cabriole legs have wide knees and the feet are a Victorian variation of a club/pad ... morefoot which is usually found on Chippendale style chairs and on the original chairs. In photo#4. There is a corner brace and the nail/screw is not the original. Until C. 1840-1850, corner braces were added for extra strength. These fitted into slots in the seat rail and were simply glued. After C. 1840-1850, corner brackets were used. These were glued and screwed into the angle of the rails. The bracket in this chair is straight, this also shows a later piece. The wood appears to be mahogany. I would date the Chippendale style chair C. 1870-1890. Estate Find: What a rare and fabulous find! This RJ Horner Griffin Finial Hall Throne Chair dating circa 1890s. I am not a furniture expert. However, based on my research I'm convinced this is an original Horner chair. This chair meets every criteria listed here: rarevictorian.com/2008/06/attributing-rj-horner-hall-chairs.html. This chair is truley majestic and could be the centerpiece of any period decor. It sits very comfortable and your mind can't help but wonder at who may have set in the chair in it's history. These chairs were fairly expensive for their time so it was almost assuredly from a home of wealth. The estate this chair was purchased from contained many high end pieces of antique furniture and artwork. This chair is the quartersawn oak variation. There is no label attached to this chair as with some Horner work. ... moreThis isn't uncommon for pieces of his work. There is the light area on the bottom of the chair that has the number"2235" printed in it. This chair is in impressive condition. Especially when you consider it's age. There is a wonderful patina on both arms, across the fron of the seat, and a small amount near the bottom of the back where the stain has been worn off over the years from use. There are a couple minor issues. On the top right of the backrest is a piece of missing ornamentation roughly 1" long. Another tiny piece also missing from the trim on the right leg. There is a small amount of wear along the top edge on the backside of the backrest. A few other minor scratches can be noticed, primarily around the feet area. Other than those, I have not noticed anything wrong with this chair. This chair would be beautiful in any collection. Restoration costs would be minimal if the new owner chose to do so. Gorgeous Victorian weave work and beading highlight this green. Caned seat rocking chair. The chair and rockers are sturdy. The green paint is worn from age to expose the original wicker. Offere d for sale is a Walnut Savonarola Chair circa 1890. This chair features a wonderfully carved mans face(Green Man? on the crest rail. Scroll and fish scale carved arms extend from the padded framed back to the seat rail. Incised rosettes follow the curved of the arms down to a center crest on the seat rail. Paw feet adorn the front legs. The craftsmanship that went into the making and carving of this chair is just amazing. This is a wonderful solid. Sturdy Savonarola chair and larger than most I have seen. There is a repair to the Back legs where the wood has split over time, which appears to be very secure and not an issue. A one time there were paws on all four feet, they appear to have been gone for sometime. Offere d for sale is a nice solid Pressed Back Oak Bentwood Arm Chair circa 1900. The back features pressed oak leaves and ribbon with small beading. Seven turned spindles run down the back of the chair. Wide bentwood oak arms flank each side of the seat. The seat was originally cane but has been replaced with a black foux leather surrounded by brass tacks. This is a large solid sturdy chair with no apologies other than normal signs of use commensurate age. The chair has been refinished and is ready to add a warm touch of the past to any home or office. Up for consideration is a fine Antique library Chair sold through the prestigious N.Y. W&J Sloane store. The chair dates about 1800 of which Sloane's added an Antique department in and around about 1891. The chair measures 37 3/4 inches tall by 25 inches wide by 27 inches deep. The seat height is 18 1/2 inches high. The piece sports a brass W& J Sloane tag on the underside. The chair is also interesting in that it has a cable system used to tighten and or reinforce the chair. Hence the chair is absolutely solid as a rock. The back rest is made of fine woven cane of which there are no breaks. There is no seat. However the chair had a drop in seat of which was probably made of leather. Sloanes was a real Who's Who in the N.Y. world of decorating.of which the White House used to Decorate at one time or another. The chair was made circa 1815 and is painted in stunning original green paint with brown and light tan& dark green paints which I believe depict a tobacco leaf pattern with vines and flowers. Each is approximately 33"H. 18W, 16.5"D, with 17" seat heights. The three lower horizontal splats are pierced to form a geometric decoration with leafs. The bottom front rail is intricately painted as well. I believe the rounded rush seat is original and traces of paint remain on it. The chair is sturdy for its age with no joinery movement. Hepplewhite child chair highchair mahogany inlaid fruitwood spindels circa 1800

This is a rare miniature chair that I believe is a child's highchair given it's shape and hole/hardware in the bottom cross beam that would attach to a table. In the front are three holes on each side that may have been for a moveable footrest not sure. What's stunning about this sweet chair is it's spindels all beautifully carved and the inlaid fruitwood plaques at the back. This was purchased by a woman at Christie's back in the 1950s according to the heirs. We are handling its sale for them. She had a collection and this sat with several other items on a very large built in window sill. Looked stunning. It is in the Hepplewhite style and measurements are as follows: 14 1/2 inches across the front- 15" from the front of the arm rest to the back of the shoulder- ... moreseat is 13 inches long by 9 inches at the back- total height at the back of the chair is 21 inches. Seat height is 9 inches. I don't see any maker markings. Condition- fully functional for a child of course. All parts are strong and there is nothing loose other than on the under side of the cushion there is one wooden piece not exactly tight as the photo shows. I also note numerous dings and dents as would be expected but nothing detracting overall The top larger fruitwood inlay has one of its corners missing and the other tiny triangle looks like it was replaced as it doesn't exactly match. There is black inlay surrounding this fruitwood and all of that looks fine. Very dusty overall. Worst part of the dings/dents is the very tip of the arm rest- one side only- shows considerable wear. Circa 1850 Child's Yew Wood Splat Back Windsor Arm Chair From England Antique
This 19th century English child's Windsor arm chair was probably made between 1820 and 1870. I believe the wood is yew. The seat is 12" tall. From floor to top of back it is 28" and 16.75" at the widest part, across the arms- all measurements are approximate. It has an upper and lower splat back with 2 spindles on each side of the upper splat The legs are turned with a nice double ring and there is a crinoline stretcher. It has ball feet and the underarm supports are nicely turned. As far as I can tell, it is all original, including the finish. I have rubbed oil on it, but that is all. The seat has a stain on the front left- you can see it in the 2nd picture. Also, the seat wood has a rather large knot- part of the knot is missing and has left a small crater- you can see it up close in picture#4. The last picture shows ... morea crack by one of the rear spindles- it runs from the spindle to the edge of the seat- it is an old crack. If you know more about this chair than I do, please feel free to correct me so I can be as accurate in this description as possible. Overall condition is very good. Happy to answer all questions.
