But they also could be mahogany as ... moreI am not an expert on my wood types. Chairs were recovered and restored back in the 20's or 30's with the current needlepoint upholstery they have now. The upholstery is in nice shape and free of damage. Minor cleaning may be needed as they have sat in one spot unused for many years. Both chairs still sit nicely. And comfortably, with no noticeable wear to the seating. The backs of the chairs are faded(pictured) But since the pics were taken they have BEEN REFINISHED so they now look, and match with the rest of the chair. When looking really closely at the wood you can see a couple spots where the chairs were professionally repaired in the past. Currently the arms on the chairs are loose where they meet the back. The legs are all solid and sturdy with no cracks or breaks that I can find. The there are some minor bumps and knicks here and there on the wood, consistent with age, nothing too bad though, and nothing that couldn't be cleaned up/ refinished, if you felt it was needed. The front legs on both chairs have casters to easily move them about. Antique armchairs measure 26" wide. 23" deep, and 41" tall. I am selling these chairs for an older friend of mine. These chairs originally belonged to his mom who lived to be in her 100s. And he is now in his early 80s, so you can rest assured that these are not Post 1950's reproductions. This sale is for Local Pickup only, but I can deliver in the Seattle Metro area for an extra $30. Cane Seated Renaissance Revival Mask Chairs C. 1870. These chairs feature a relief carved mask or portrait of a facial profile on the crest rail. The mask is carved on a round walnut panel and flanked by burl walnut panels ... moreon the crest rail and back splat. Three of the chairs feature a female profile. Two of the chairs a male profile. The rest of the chair wood is ebonized. The seats are caned. The front legs and double front stretchers are turned. The Renaissance Revival Period. Between 1860– 1875, was the crème de la crème of the Victorian Era. This set of side chairs has caned seats in wonderful condition. The chairs themselves are sturdy; the joints are tight. The double front stretchers are turned. The side stretchers are double. Wonderful arched carved crests that have shaped raised burl with incising and delicate carvings. The segmental pediment carved front aprons are ornamented with incised carving. Nicely turned and tapered front legs terminate in button feet. The chair back is nicely raked; the rear stiles continue down to form the rear legs in a serpentine curve. The chair back is flaired out from the lower rail up to the crest rail. Pair Of Antique Victorian Louis XV Carved Walnut / Mahogany French Chairs
Both chairs are in nice shape for their age. They are upholstered in what feels like a silk like material and the bones are still strong and not wobbly. Wood has nicely detailed carvings throughout. I'm not sure if it is walnut or mahogany. But you can zoom in with the pictures and see for yourself. Nail studded trim work throughout the entire piece, even under the seat cushion. The upholstery may need a little minor cleaning on the arms, and there is minor wear on the wood, but since the chairs are obviously carved the minor wear gives them character and really goes unnoticed when looking at them overall. Today I am offering a beautiful set of six antique victorian chairs.These were just purchased from a estate in PA.These chairs appear to be oak and have carved designs.You can see the grain in the wood.All the seats are in very good condition.Expect a scratch here,and there are some spots with small chips in the wood.There are two parts of darker wood in the design,I believe it is a burl walnut inlay.The caned seats are stitched on not pressed.I am not an expert on furniture,so please feel free to email me with any information or questions.Free pick up,we are about 3.5 hrs from NYC,and about 1.5 hrs from Philadelphia.I contacted a local shipper,he said it would be around $250 to ship these,an extra $75 for a lift gate,I can give you his number if you like.Rare to find these in a set and in this good condition.

These 19th century dining chairs are positively beautiful and feature splendid carved details! Each chair also features new fabric covering on the seats of a fancy leaf pattern fabric much like the carvings on the chairs with a hint of very light green. Antique French Aubusson Set of Four Hand Carved Walnut Chairs
Just in we have a handsome antique set of four antique French Aubusson chairs. The chairs are beautifully hand carved with gold gilt detailing. The chairs are upholstered in Aubusson tapestry. The four chairs all depict different rural scenes. The backs of the chairs are all figural while the seats are animals. There are two different foxes. One rooster, and one heron. The chairs are sturdy and measure 38" tall at the back 22" wide and 18" deep. The chairs frames are hand carved wood what we believe to be walnut. We date the chairs circa 1870-1900 possibly earlier but we feel secure with that dateline. The finials are bronze gold gilt ormolu. The frames of the chairs are sound in structure with some minor loss of detail. The chairs sit well. The under structure appears to be spring loaded tied frames and horsehair stuffed. ... moreThere are four small wood florets absent on the chair side legs and loss of part of the center wreath top back on one chair. The Aubusson chairs are in need of some minor restoration of the tapestry. The rooster chair seat requires the most attention. The tapestry backs are all in good condition with the exception of the shepard with the lamp. He has some splits that need mending. A few minor splits but no loss or fraying. A clever seamstress with a fine needle could rejoin. There is one repair to the tapestry which likely was a professional job as it is that good. To inspect see rooster seat lower left quadrant. The chair backs are silk which need to be redone as there is damage on several and a better choice of fabric should be made. Please refer to photos as I have included lots of close ups. Offered here are a pair of antique American walnut Victorian parlor chairs. She dates then to between 1875-1890 at which time there was a walnut blight that killed the walnut trees. They have a carved arched back and gracefully curved legs. They have been freshly upholster in a pretty green. They measure 35 inches tall. 19 inches wide and deep and the seat is 18 inches off the floor. Pictures 6 and 7 show repairs, one for each chair. We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful pair of antique chairs. These chairs date to the mid 1800's and are in amazing condition for the age. These are from a prominent Concord. MA estate that was one of the founding families of the town. These chairs are mahogany and flame mahogany with a finish on them that is similar to a French polish finish. They have a sabre leg and a bowed skirt. They have a carved scroll and leaf crest with a circular center medallion. The slip seats have a beautiful needlepoint design with what looks to me like two squirrels playing cards. The chairs measure as follows: Back height = 34" Seat height = 17" Seat width =16.5" Seat depth = 16" Both of the chairs have had various repairs over the years. For sale are a pair of original antique late 1800's Victorian armchairs. These pieces look to be carved walnut. But they also could be mahogany as I am not an expert on my wood types. Chairs were recovered and restored back in the 20's or 30's with the current needlepoint upholstery they have now. The upholstery is in nice shape and free of damage. Minor cleaning may be needed as they have sat in one spot unused for many years. Both chairs still sit nicely. And comfortably, with no noticeable wear to the seating. The backs of the chairs are faded(pictured) But since the pics were taken they have BEEN REFINISHED so they now look, and match with the rest of the chair. When looking really closely at the wood you can see a couple spots where the chairs were professionally repaired in the past. Currently the arms on the chairs are ... moreloose where they meet the back. The legs are all solid and sturdy with no cracks or breaks that I can find. The there are some minor bumps and knicks here and there on the wood, consistent with age, nothing too bad though, and nothing that couldn't be cleaned up/ refinished, if you felt it was needed. The front legs on both chairs have casters to easily move them about. Antique armchairs measure 26" wide. 23" deep, and 41" tall. I am selling these chairs for an older friend of mine. These chairs originally belonged to his mom who lived to be in her 100s. And he is now in his early 80s, so you can rest assured that these are not Post 1950's reproductions. A high triangular back and casters on the feet. Will add a nice touch to any room! CONDITION Wear from use and age. This includes some small scuffs and scratches. There is a tear in the upholstery on the back of one of the seat as well as the trim being loose on another. There are also a few smaller stains on one of the seats. The captain's chair varies slightly from the side chairs(see photo 1) All chairs are walnut with hand carved/notched details on the backs and"arm" supports. All chairs feature burled walnut on the upper backs. The captain's chair features hand notched pattern on the burl wood. The chairs feature hand caned backs and seats. All chairs are in good condition with minor evidence of age and they have not been restored. One chair has an old. Small repair at the arm, but it is good and is not distracting.
