DETAIL: A nicely preserved clay statuette so wonderfully characteristic of Sui-Tang Dynasty statuary. The statuette depicts a man performing a martial arts move. Something akin to contemporary“mushu” The roots of mushu martial arts extends back at least 4,000 years, and this statuette reflects that heritage.
