Brown with Cobalt Blue Bird Salt Glazed Stoneware Honey Jar Honey Crock
Salt Glazed Pottery Jar/Crock/Cup This is such a cute miniature like piece. I did the best I could to research it but there was nothing to go by. It does remind me of a Rowe Pottery piece? There are no markings on this item. I believe it is salt glazed and features a cobalt blue bird. I took several pics of the front of this as it was hard to get a good picture. My guess would be that it was an egg cup or a honey jar/honey crock. It is in near mint shape. 3cm tall with a 4cm diameter* weighs 35g* Please message via ebay questions about item/shipping PRIOR to bidding*

Antique Vintage Salt Glaze Brown Crock Jar 1 1/2 QT Wax Seal
Up for bid is a antique brown crock salt glaze jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the 1800's. This jar is 1 1/2 qt. capacity. Stands 7" tall and is 3 1/2" across. You couldn't ask for a nicer piece for it's age as it has one small chip and wear along the rim and another chip on the side, each about 1/5" and some glaze is missing at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks or other chips. This would be a great addition to a collection. Please take a minute and look at my other listings which are varied and different. I will combine postage I have considerable inventory I need to consolidate and doesn't help that I keep adding to it. I particularly like the 1940's ... moreand 1950's but do list other items so check back. If you find something you like remember I will combine postage. I do send parcel post in an attempt to keep shipping cost down but if you want another type of shipping let me know.

Antique Stoneware, Salt-Glazed Brown Crock, Catawba Valley, Carolina Primitive
Exceptional quality. Small alkaline or salt glazed, primitive antique crock. 6 1/4 inches high, about 3 inch top diameter, about 4 1/4 inch bottom diameter. Looks to be just under 5 inches around(diameter) in the middle. Nice luster, looks different in every kind of light. Glaze is nicely variegated- study photos to get the feel and look of this relatively heavy piece(for its size) Does not appear to be missing a lid- the way the opening was made, I do not believe this ever had a lid, at least not a ceramic one that would have been incorporated into the clay design when the piece was hand thrown. Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. Not much wear given its age- glaze has rubbed off in a few small spots ... morearound the rim(see photo) but no serious chips or cracks. Bottom is unmarked. All sales are final- no returns. Please ask questions before bidding. Shipping to Lower 48 States only. No international sales. Payment due within 3 days of auction end. If you have a feedback score of 10 or less, you must contact me before bidding. In"as found" condition- this item is vintage, and not new. Photos are as important as my written description. Please review all the photos carefully, including at close-up magnification.
Antique Lord Stoutenburg & Co. Chicago Illinois Stoneware Salt Glazed Crock IL
This is an Antique Lord Stoutenburg& Co. Chicago Stoneware Crock. This is a cool old crock and it really shows it's age. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any information on this company. I did find a bunch of Stoutenburg genealogy information but nothing that led to this business. There are a couple of hairline cracks and one major repair to this crock so please inspect the pictures very carefully. It has a couple of minor chips out of the top lip. It is quite obvious this crock will not hold liquids and cannot be used for canning or sauerkraut but for a collector, it would be a great find as I have yet to see another like it. It measures 10 1/4" tall x 5" in diameter at the top x 6 1/2" in diameter at the base. Thanks for looking! Questions welcome. Old Antique Primitive Canning Crock Jar Stoneware Salt Glaze Crazing
HELLO and thanks for looking at our auction! Today we have an old antique crock that we think may have been a canning crock many years ago. It looks like a date on the bottom but we can't quite make it out but we have taken pictures of it. It has lots of flaws and chips around the top and lots of staining and crazing. There is also a hairline crack in the top and we have tried to show it in the pictures. This old crock measures 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" across the bottom and 4 1/4" across the top. The rim is 1/2" thick around the top and it is very heavy. It weighs 3 1/2 pounds. It is missing the bale but the holes for the bale are still intact. It is also missing the lid. This old Crock is still very pretty even with all the chips. Stains and flaws. It has lots of crazing all over the outside and inside, and would look ... moregood with the old primitives collection. VTG 1910s 1920s Primitive Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock Bucket Cincinnati Ohio
Very interesting salt glazed heavy bucket. Found at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati. Ohio when working on recent renovations. This bucket was black with oil and dust. It was found in the mechanical room where it was used to refill the oilers. It took some doing, but we were able to cut the grime. As you can see, the bucket is in fantastic condition. We estimate its age to be 1910s/1920s era or possibly earlier(the theatre was built in the early 20s and this bucket has been there since that time) The edge has a small lip that comes off of it. There is a tight crack along one side which is typical of this type of crockery. Also some glaze slips- also typical. No maker's marks on the piece. Very nice primitive item. Stands 7 1/4" tall with a 7.5" measurement across at the top and 5" across at the bottom. Wonderful piece of ... morehistory! Shipping is based on the weight of 5.5 lbs which is the weight of the item and careful packing materials to get it safely to your door. International Buyers– Please Note: Import duties. Antique Blue White Salt Glaze Stoneware Large Milk Crock Bail Bowl RARE! Minty!
In the years that I have owned this bowl I have never seen another one. The best I can tell from my internet research and consulting the Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware. This is an Apple Blossom on diamond waffle patterned salt glazed stoneware milk crock. It is missing the bail. Aside from that, this piece is near mint. There is a imperfection in one of the bail ears that appears it may have occurred during the firing process because it looks glazed over. No other cracks, no chips. It measures 10" across(or just under 11.5" from bail ear to ear) 5" high and 6" wide across the base. Milk crocks this size in other patterns are in the book. The molding on this is very sharp and crisp.
