Nice patina on the finished outside, with a few scuffs and scratches from use. Wooden pegs surround small iron fasteners, keeping the bent wood handle on and allowing it to swing. Small dent in dead center of the underside indicates that a compass-like device was used to trace out and cut a perfect circle for the bottom. No lid. There's a spot that has been worn down from sharpening knives on it. Just give a few seconds for them to load Here's a very nice vintage Igloo 3 gallon galvanized metal water cooler. I believe this to be 1950's era. You'll see that this cooler has an all-metal interior and all-metal spigot dispenser. This is the earlier version. As the later issue coolers had a plastic interior and plastic push-button spigot. There's a small tri-angle shaped hole on the outside of the piece as you can see in the pics. This hole only pierces the exterior metal and does not go completely thru to the inside. This hole was used to mount the cup dispenser mechanism. Not included with this auction. The outside of the cooler shows some staining from the years spent in the garage. Would need a special chemical ... morecleaning. Or a light media blast to correct. I'll let you take care of that. Embossing on the cooler indicates"Igloo Corp. Antique Vintage Salt Glaze Brown Crock Jar 1 1/2 QT Wax Seal
Up for bid is a antique brown crock salt glaze jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the 1800's. This jar is 1 1/2 qt. capacity. Stands 7" tall and is 3 1/2" across. You couldn't ask for a nicer piece for it's age as it has one small chip and wear along the rim and another chip on the side, each about 1/5" and some glaze is missing at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks or other chips. This would be a great addition to a collection. Please take a minute and look at my other listings which are varied and different. I will combine postage I have considerable inventory I need to consolidate and doesn't help that I keep adding to it. This is an authentic antique stoneware jug which measures approximately 8-1/2 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches in diameter. It has a chip at the neck. See picture, and several small"flaws" on the body, see pictures. There are not any cracks that I can find. There are marks on the jug which might appear in the pictures to be cracks but they are really just marks(possible pencil marks) This jug was found under a really old house in Texas about 70 years ago. It is a heavy piece, nearly 5 pounds. The is one very fine crack less than two inches long extending from the rim down and is visible in the enlarged picture of the inside. It holds one gallon filled to its brim and measures approximately 9 3/4" high. 6 1/4" wide at the bottom& 5 1/2" wide at the top. The opening is 4" wide and it has a tapered neck. The glazing on this crock is in beautiful condition, inside and out. The crock has no markings on it but I suspect it was made locally as S.E. Ohio was/is well known for its good clay soils for producing pottery, ceramics& glass. Within one half hour of where I live is where the homes of such companies as Roseville Pottery, Hull Pottery, Hall Pottery, Anchor-Hocking Glass, Hocking Glass, Fenton, McCoy Pottery, etc. were located. Up for auction is 1 antique crock This crock is yellowish/brown in color and is in really good shape. For this crocks age it is in excellent shape. I try to let everyone know about any imperfections so here are a few. It has a small impurity on the rim from when the crock was made. I would guess it was a air bubble when the crock was molded out. I have a picture of the impurity. It has a hairline crack at the start of the rim. Please look at all the pictures. I have tried to take pictures of everything that was irregular. It is almost 9.5" tall. 5 3/4" acrossed the opening, andabout 7" acoss bottom, I would say this would hold over a gallon, There are no cracks to this crocks sounds great, There is some chipping to the bottom and the underside of the lid, If I am correct these crocks were used for storeing meat, you would fry it and place it in the crock and pour fat drippings over the meat and store in a cool place, you could then pull back some of the fat and get your meat out, then put the fat back on this would keep for a good spell. Antique Vintage Weir Stoneware Brown Canning Crock with Wire closure
This is a Weir Canning Crock with a Patent March 1st 1892 as identified on the lid. It still has the original working wire closure but it is rusty. There are no noted chips or cracks. The inside is clean. With the vintage age there is some crazing on the cream colored area of the crock. I personally took this piece out of my grand mothers old farm house kitchen basement crawl space. It was sitting beside several old crocks and several large bolders(rocks) which were supporting the old house so I know they have been there for years. The house has been in the family for 100 years. Set of 3 Vintage/Antique Brown Stoneware Cheese and Pickle Crocks
This is a set of 3 old crocks. Two of which have the lids and wire and the one in the center of the photo is missing the lid and wire. All are in great shape but have some light surface chipping on the bottom edge- nothing major at all. Photo 4 shows one of the cheese crocks having a tiny surface nick in the outer rim. The crocks on each side are the cheese crocks and measure 4" tall without the lids. The center pickle crock has the holes in the side for the wire but as stated, it is missing the lid and wire. It measures 3 3/4" tall and has a 4 1/4" base. There are no rings with either. Great for use or just a primitive display! All items are weighed on an accurate US postal scale with an estimated total weight after packaging. Up for sale are these unusual. Rare, vintage stoneware Crocks or feeding dishes. Unknown maker. They are 2 1/2" high. 7" in diameter. They have an unusual 1" lip. In good antique or vintage condition with no chips. Or breaks. There is a spider crack on each crock/dish on the inside bottom and they do not appear to go through to the outside.There is a spider crack on one of them that goes down the side and about an inch along the bottom. And it does go through to the outside. I put water in it to see if it would leak. It does have a slow leak. So if you were to plan on purchasing them for a dog or cats dish, that one would be good to put it's dry food in that one. And water in the other one. Antique primitive Vintage Dark Brown Crock Jar Wax Seal?
Antique dark brown crock jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax i believe. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the late 1800's- to the early 1900s. It is in very good condition considering it's age. The inside rim is rough and has small chips. As you can see in the picture. There is some discoloration at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks, other chips and the glaze is in good condition. This would be a great addition to a collection. Pictures are part of description also. I will combine postage I have considerable inventory I need to consolidate and doesn't help that I keep adding to it. If you find something you like remember I will combine postage.
