This is an antique high back bed with the original boxed spring. I am not familiar with antiques and am limited on what I can tell you about this bed. I will describe this item as accurately as possible. This is a very sturdy bed. The headboard is approx. 74 inches high and 56 1/2 inches wide. The footboard is approx. 35 inches high and 56 1/2 inches wide. The side rails are approx. 76 inches long. The boxed springs is approx. 51 1/2 inches wide and 72 inches long. The back of the headboard has some damage on it. There is also an age crack in the headboard. There is some discolor and wear on one corner of the footboard. Please remember that vintage items and antiques will show some type(s) of wear and may have imperfections they have acquired through enduring time. Antique Highback Eastlake Twin Headboard & Footboard Bed Sets
You are bidding a beautiful pair of Antique Highback'Eastlake' beds. These beds were being used as a King Size Bed but they are really two twin beds. They are in good condition based on there age. They measure approximately 79" High x 35" Wide x 4" Deep. Each bed has two heavy duty wood side rails and 4 wood cross slats. I have taken several pictures of each bed. Antique Carved Wood Twin Headboard Pair
Set of 2 carved.Twin size mahogany headboards. Had taken photos to Bonham& Butterfield's in San Francisco and was told these would have been made in the late 1800's-up to 1910, here in the United States, of Mahogany. Both hand carved and machine tooled. They have a dark, rich brown stain. Considering their age, they are in very good condition. The round peg dowels which connect the main body to the side posts are loose and one is missing. There were additional pieces of wood bolted to the lower legs: i believe for attaching to a wall previously. I was given these 15 years ago and have had them stored in my basement workroom:which is dry and ventilated,so they have not endured overly hot and dry,nor damp conditions. Both have various nicks and scratches due to normal wear and tear throughout the years; but would be hardly noticeable ... morewith a good polishing. Victorian Mahogany and Rosewood Half Tester Bed
The bed is all original.The padded upholstered canopy needs redoing. It was left so the pattern could be used to reproduce new canopy. The assembled bed is taller than avg ceiling hgt. I have custom made pieces that convert the head board end to 8ft. So the bed can be used in most any room. The bed was made in France and either shipped in at Charleston or New Orleans and went directly to a large estate home way out East Blvd in Charlotte NC. in 1878. A Dr had purchased the bed and it was placed in the East Blvd home. It stayed there until the 1940's when it was moved to the families' home on the Catawba River. and stayed there until 1956 when it was given as a gift to my Aunt. Antique 1880's Cherry Bed and Chest w/ Mirror Wooden Rollers Handpainted Flowers
You are bidding on a wonderful antique bed and chest with mirror. The bed is full sized. Has 6 slats on the bottom, wooden rollers(the rollers are not on in the photos) and is in wonderful condition for its age. There are beautiful hand painted flowers on the headboard. The chest has a tiltable. Beveled mirror with brass fixtures. There are candle stands on each side. They are made of ornate brass. This obviously was built before homes had electric lights. The lower back section of the chest is hand painted with beautiful flowers as well. There is one door that opens to a cabinet area with a shelf. There are two drawers. They are dove tailed construction and have all original hardware. The chest measures 76 inches high x 36 inches wide x 18 inches deep. The top of the chest has a stain from a plastic doilie. We have always had a dresser scarf ... moreon there which hides the flaws and really sets off the hand painting. There are a few fine paint splatters? on it but not very noticable. We will leave it to the buyer to try to remove. We are not sure of the wood but it is cherry in color. We are not positive of the age but looking at the style. These beds were made for an affluent Connecticut family who had an intimate relationship with Reverend Nutting. The gentleman we acquired these beds from is a well known and respected dealer in his own rights and times. He has turned up some of the finest pieces brought to market in New England over the last 30 years. These beds were not made by Nuttings' usual outsourcers. We make an educated assumption that these were either ... moreprototypes or one of a kind creations. We have NEVER seen a pair of beds like these before. They do not bear their production stamps but do in fact have the evidence of Nuttings paper labels. According to the family they were accidentally destroyed after a Hartford. Ct refinishing shop removed the labels in the 1950's when they had the beds refinished and before the era the Wallace Nutting became an American icon. The family was incensed by this the moment they discovered what had been done but what could they do? The labels had been destroyed by sheer ignorance. The backs of the headboards indeed bare absolute evidence of the presence of the labels which are consistent to the size of Wallace Nutting's paper labels used on his furniture products. The family still maintains a very significant collection of Nutting's furniture and personally autographed collection of all Nutting's publications including photographs with members of the family with Nutting who was a frequent visitor to their Greenwich home. Sturdy and free from woodworm, the footboard has various slight cracks to the veneer and moulded detail due to slight shrinkage over the years, the bottom edge of the footboard also has various slight repairs to the veneer(see close up pictures) The fabric on the headboard has various slight marks but can easily be replaced. Antique English Four Poster Bed
An extremely nice example of a very large(king sized) four poster bed made for the British Raj dating from 1860. This bed was returned to the UK from India a few years back and then came with me back to the states. As you can see it is heavily carved hard wood. There is no pest damage and very little if any other dings dents or scratches. It is very sturdy and breaks down to pieces for convenient transport as this would have been the original intention as it would be moved between camps. This is a very rare and beautiful bed which really must be viewed to be appreciated. Please feel free to inquire for more details. This Gothic full sized bed is from the 1 86 0's in the style made famous by the"Lincoln Bed" It is a beautiful. Dark solid walnut with much graceful carving and paneled burl accents. With a Q-metal frame, but you can see the slots on each side of the headboard where the side rail extensions fit. This antique bed is a work of art from the Victorian era. Made of brass and cast iron. It is as sturdy as the day it was made. It is full sized. The footboard is bow footed. Allowing for extra leg room for tall sleepers. This bed is in excellent condition. One or two of the small balls that cap the vertical brass poles are missing. This is only noticeable if you are at floor level with the bed. They do not affect the structural integrity. This bed frame comes with it's mattress and box spring. 1870 8 ft. Walnut and Burl FULL BED American Renaissance revival
This original antique is American Renaissance revival walnut and burl veneer bed with carved arch. This is a rare and wonderful piece of woodworking. The ornate pediment on top piece is carved in Rococo. The design mode is called Victorian but in realism is the revival of Louis SV and began in England in 1850. This is such a perfect and early example of revival that it very well may be from the Philadelphia school of Querville or Henkels. American cabinetmakers. Condition of the piece is very good supporting the original finish that has mellowed to a satin patina in it's 120 plus years. This is a sole remaining piece of a bedroom set which more than likely makes this irreplaceable. All Information I have gotten from an appraisel catalog done on these items back in 1997. 1840-1860 Eastlake Victorian Mahogany Bed and Dresser
Bed and dresser is mahogany and-Dresser has marble top. No breaks or cracks and is the original top-Dresser has original bevel mirror and in good shape-Bed has matching foot board like the headboard-but half it's height. Dresser has the same design on top of dresser as the bed does-Bed is a full size, but we can put a queen mattress on it. Head board has a crack in it. If you look at the 4 th picture you can see the crack, a little glue will do the job. The set has never been refinished or repaired. The set is big, thick wood and heavy. Some wear and tear for it's age, but in very good shape. A piece of vinear came off of the dresser drawer, I'm told that was easy to repair. The carving on the bed is beautiful. This beautiful French walnut bedroom suite is circa 1880 and is in excellent antique condition. The quality and beauty of this set is remarkable. Although it is over 130 years old. I see no problems. When we purchased this set about 15 years ago. I totally cleaned the entire set using mineral spirits to remove dirt and old waxes and polishes. I then applied a total of five coats of tung oil to each piece. Tung oil gives an ideal, long-lasting finish to wood. French beds take a slightly different size mattress. So we are including the mattress and box spring with the set. Full-size bedding fits fine. We moved to a different house and have no room in our guest room for these pieces. Full size carved mahogany poster. Canopy bed. Outstanding condition for its age, circa 1870-1900, original untouched finish, reeded columns, flame turned finials, bolt on rails. a magnificent quality custom/replica of the Sheraton style. The canopy top and the rails are not pictured) I the tops of pine and is the curved type, as opposed to flat, the rails are mahogany all are in great condition as well. Possibly Kittenger(they began production just after the Civil War, we are using the original finish patina to determine the age which we firmly believe to be no less than 100 years and no more than 150 years of age. The style of construction, the quality of the piece and the age all suggest Kittenger in a strong way. I am unaware of any other maker of this style and quality during this time frame. This set has been in my family since it was purchased. Although I'm unsure of the year of purchase. Actually, it has been in the same house since its purchase as well. Hand Carved VICTORIAN BED& BED SPRINGS + 2 DRESSERS. The entire bed is solid oak with the original finish. The bed& springs were in continuous use from 1876 thru 2008 in the same family. Outside Bed Measurements are at Headboard Height: 57” Footboard Height: 42” outside Length: 77” outside Width: 53½” The inside bed measurements are: Length: 73” by Width: 51” The head& foot boards are on casters& the entire bed rolls easily for cleaning or, when taken apart, for transportation. The side rails slip easily in& out of slots in the head& foot boards. It comes with the slats, including the small center one which was used to distributed the weight of the mattress& people evenly on the center of the mesh springs. The bed springs, with the original stenciled date of 1876, are made of steel mesh stretched tightly over ... morethe solid oak frame& secured at the ends with thick iron pieces. The springs are still firm& without any sag. There is no indication of a manufacturer’s name on the mesh or iron end pieces and they may have been mail order. The bed needs a little loving care– mostly just a good cleaning(the spot of white on the foot board decoration(see pic) is a small streak of paint) being dusty and covered in old furniture polish. It does have a few scratches& small dings from age, but nothing major. Both dressers were made at the time as the bed, 1876, and by the same craftsman. They are oak& are all original with no replacement pieces& with the original finish. THE LARGE DRESSER with associated mirror measures: Height: 44” Depth: 19” Width: 41” The Ogee mirror is an oval 23 ½” by 15” is probably a later addition. The dresser has 2 trinket drawers made with key holes, but without knobs, a small bow front top drawer& 3 large lower drawers; all of which work properly. 19th Century Antique Bentwood Baby Cradle Crib
Here’s a nice Antique Bentwood cradle fresh from a local estate. I don’t have the bottom slats or mattress/pad. But I would think they should be fairly easy to replace or made. There are several spots that have been glued(where the wood lifted- mainly across the tops of the bentwood end sections) and it could use a good cleaning, as it has been in storage for many years. I do not know the style of the headboard set but I do know that it belonged to my great grandmother and I am 41 years old. So I was told it is probably late 1800's? The Headboard is 6 foot high and solid wood. It has the footboard and side slats. You will probably have to cut your own wood to put across to hold up the mattress. It is a full which is larger than a singe but not quite a queen. Pick up only! The only damage is a little scratching on the bottom of the headboard that you can not see when the mattress is in place.
