The Bed: The bed measures 62 1/2 inches in height at the head-board.39 1/2 inches in height to the top of the foot-board, with the outside with of the bed being 61 3/4 inches and outside length measuring 81 inches and this bed weighs approximately 200 lbs total. The inside mattress area measures 57 1/2 inches wide by 74 3/4 inches long and should fit a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their own mattress set to assure proper fit. The height from the floor to the top of the sides rails ... moreat the enter measures 14 3/4 inches.The bed sets up solid and tight and very sturdy. The right side of the foot-board does have a slight age shrinkage crack about 6 inches long near the bottom right side.nothing major but worth mentioning. Rare antique bedroom set. Circa 1800s. This set is beautiful, is in fine condition, and is all original. Has never been refinished. Is complete with bed, dresser, and washstand. It still has the orginal box spring which is made with a wooden frame and has hinges to fold in half. All the handles,wheels and marble are also original. All pieces are hand made and hand carved with wooden inlays. This set came out of a historic plantation home in Fredericksburg, VA. Appraised for over $35,000 when I bought it 25 years ago.

The bed measures 5' 9 1/2 inches high at the head-board. 34 inches high at the foot-board, with an outside width of 61 inches and outside length of 76 inches. The inside mattress area measures 54 1/2 inches wide by 76 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their mattress set to assure proper fit. Altman and Company, New York City. My Mother purchased the set at Altmans. The set has a Custom ordered finish; hand painted in several layers of rich Bone White with a slight yellowish tint. The final coloring was achieved with ultra thin brushed lines in light brown. The coloring is blended in such a subtle way that nearly defies description! The finish is accented with hand pressed real Gold Leaf. The red you see mixed into the Gold Leaf is part of the leafing mixture. Beautiful Berkey and Gay bedroom set. Approx. Crica 1880- 1890 based on Berkey and Gay mark that is on all pieces of the furniture. As per appraisal from 2001 the set is a Louis XVI sub-style. All the pieces are of flame grain veneered circassian walnut. Arched creasts pierced and carved three dimensional carving in laminated wood of clusters of roses tied with ribbons. Tapered fluted square columns on each side. Also acanthus leaf carving and beading. The beds have French caned headboards and footboards and are complete with siderails. All the pieces are on raised casters except the Bedside Stand. The dressers. Bedside stand, and vaniety all have custom glass tops. And a full size bed with the carved headboard measuring 84.5x57. The bed is packed away in our attic so I took photos of the headboard. This was purchased many years ago and we were told it was made in Ohio. Unsure of the maker or what kind of wood. Has all the original hardware. In very nice condition for its age. Antique English Oak Bedroom Set Armoire Wardrobe Dresser Barley Twist Headboard
You are bidding on a BEAUTIFUL Antique English OakBedroom Set/ Suite/ Ensemble. I am not an antique expert or dealer.But I was told when I purchased these pieces that they are all Victorian Style English Oak(medium) manufactured in England in the late 1800's. All pieces were purchased separately. But they"match" amazingly well. There are three items in this set: Dresser- Measures 36"W x 19"D x 38.5"H. With 4 drawers of increasing size from top to bottom. Head Board and Foot Board w/ rails modified to fit a Queen Size bed- Both pieces are 54" Wide and 1.75" Deep on corner posts. Thinner across the back. The headboard is 53.25" High and the footboard is 27.25" High. Both have a diamond design in the center panel, and 1.5" slats out to the sides, with Barley Twist on the ends of the headboard ... moreonly. There is a small screw(hardly noticeable) at the very bottom of the left footboard foot, where it had once had a small crack, bus now fixed and solid. As they did not have Queen beds back 1800's, the rails have been modified to fit a Queen bed, so the mattress hangs about 2-3" off either side of the bed- this is very common for people who have an antique head and foot board, and is not noticeable once the bed is made up. Armoire/ Wardrobe- Measures 47"W(plus 2.5" on each side for the crown) x 18.5"D x 80"H. This is a beautiful piece. And VERY functional. Has a hanger bar across the interior along with 5 hooks for miscellaneous items. Also has a large drawer underneath for storage. The design is shown in the close-up(photo 2) and there is a beveled glass mirror on the door. The wardrobe actually comes in three pieces that sit on each other- base, main cabin, crown- so it is easier to move than it looks! I first saw this set back in 1974 when I helped one of my good friends carry this set out of the original home where it sat since new(110 years) take it up to his house, then tried like heck to buy it from him. He refused, saying it was the nicest set he’d ever owned. For years, I thought about it, and now here it is– right out of a home here in Central Maine. This set stayed in his home until his tragic death a few years back, and his lovely widow offered it to me, knowing how special it was to me. We’re offering many mint-condition items from his estate, including assorted carnival glass, satin glass, wavecrest items, Gone with the Wind” lamps, and much more. This set came in with some very small chipped pieces on two of the finials, which have been completely repaired. This set has tremendous racetrack molding on it, which is represented by ovals, reverse curves, circles in the middles, and they are on the drawers and doors of both case pieces, on the bed, and even on the side rails of the bed. Hand carving in solid quarter sawn oak shows superior craftsmanship- artistic detailing. Graceful curves and raised and shaped panels. The original finish is very well preserved on this European furniture. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm honeyed patina. The bed has been adapted to fit a standard queen size mattress as shown. Side rails. Heavily Carved Victorian Solid Tiger Oak 3 piece Bedroom Set circa 1890's. This splendid solid oak bedroom set has a rich old finish with exquisite applied carvings of floral, ribbons and buttons that adds an elegant touch to this massive set. A fine example of a Victorian Tiger Oak Bedroom set of the late 1800's. The massive high back bed measures a total height at the head-board of 72 inches. A total outside width of the bed is 64 3/4 inches, outside length of 78 1/2 inches, the height of the heavily carved foot-board measures 35 inches, and the approximate total weight of the bed is 200 lbs. The inside mattress area measures 54 inches wide by 74 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set ... morenicely but you should measure your mattress set to assure proper fit. There some areas of the applied decorative carvings on the head-board and the foot board that are no longer present which I have tried to show in the close- up pictures. But due to the abundance of carvings this is not real noticeable until close inspection. The grand matching dresser with its large original beveled mirror measures a total height of 86 inches to the top of the mirror. A total width of 51 inches, a total depth of 22 inches and the height from the floor to the top of the dresser is 20 inches, and the approximate weight of the dresser with the mirror is 185 lbs. Antique Victorian Eastlake 3 pc Bedroom Set circa 1890's, bed, 2 dressers
3 piece Victorian Eastlake bedroom set consisting of headboard. Footboard, side rails, marble top dresser with mirror, and marble top commode/vanity. The nightstand in the picture is not part of the set, but would be willing to work a deal if you were interested in it. I don't know much about antique furniture, this has been lovingly used in our family since it was acquired in the 1930's. It probably dates back to the 1890's, and everything is in its original state since we have owned it, I cannot tell before that. I think the wood is mahogany. The drawers are dovetailed. The headboard is an impressive 84" tall and 54" wide. And 79" long. The bed uses a 3/4 size mattress. Mattress and box springs included if desired) The footboard is 36" high. The dresser is 90" tall. Stunning Antique 4 Piece French Walnut Bedroom Suite Set - 1880s w/ mattress
This beautiful French walnut bedroom suite is circa 1880 and is in excellent antique condition. The quality and beauty of this set is remarkable. Although it is over 130 years old. I see no problems. When we purchased this set about 15 years ago. I totally cleaned the entire set using mineral spirits to remove dirt and old waxes and polishes. I then applied a total of five coats of tung oil to each piece. Tung oil gives an ideal, long-lasting finish to wood. French beds take a slightly different size mattress. So we are including the mattress and box spring with the set. Full-size bedding fits fine. We moved to a different house and have no room in our guest room for these pieces. Antique 17th century French 5 piece bedroom set
This bedroom set was purchased by my parents over 20 years ago from one of the leading antique stores in southern California for close to 20.000.00. At various points in its history, before being purchased by my family, restorations were completed. Not all hinges match(one hinge broke which is why one door off the armoire is presently removed) The bed was modified to fit a queen size mattress. There are some dings however it is in incredible condition for its age! It is a truly impressive set. With the right bedding it can match any style even contemporary given the black marble.
