I totally cleaned the entire set using mineral spirits to remove dirt and old waxes and polishes. I then applied a total of five coats of tung oil to each piece. Tung oil gives an ideal, long-lasting finish to wood. French beds take a slightly different size mattress. So we are including the mattress and box spring with the set. Full-size bedding fits fine. We moved to a different house and have no room in our guest room for these pieces. The following pieces are included in this set: The armoire comes complete with original mirrors and hardware. This lovely 19th century bedroom set features gorgeous incised carvings of potted flowers.Incised carvings of geometric designs and beautiful applied carvings of scrolls and shells on the head-board and foot-board. The Bed: The bed measures 62 1/2 inches in height at the head-board.39 1/2 inches in height to the top of the foot-board, with the outside with of the bed being 61 3/4 inches and outside length measuring 81 inches and this bed weighs approximately 200 lbs total. The inside mattress area measures 57 1/2 inches wide by 74 3/4 inches long and should fit a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their own mattress set to assure proper fit. The height from the floor to the top of the sides rails ... moreat the enter measures 14 3/4 inches.The bed sets up solid and tight and very sturdy. The right side of the foot-board does have a slight age shrinkage crack about 6 inches long near the bottom right side.nothing major but worth mentioning. The Dresser: The matching walnut dresser measures 72 inches in height to the top of the mirror.Height to the top of the base measures 29 1/2 inches, width of the base is 46 1/4 inches and depth of the base is 21 1/4 inches and the dresser weighs approximately 145 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 33 1/4 inches wide by 27 inches in height and is in excellent antique condition. All the locks are intact on the dresser but we do not have the key.There are replacement casters on the dresser base. This lovely 19th century bedroom set features gorgeous raised panels of burl walnut. Incised carvings, rosettes and fine geometric carvings one expects in the Victorian Eastlake era. We believe this dresser to have its original wide beveled mirror, original brass pulls and the original beveled edge chocolate marble. The bed measures 5' 9 1/2 inches high at the head-board. 34 inches high at the foot-board, with an outside width of 61 inches and outside length of 76 inches. The inside mattress area measures 54 1/2 inches wide by 76 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their mattress set to assure proper fit. The approximate weight of this ... morebed is 120 lbs. The dresser measures 84 inches in height to the top of the carvings on the mirror.30 inches in height to the top of the marble base, 46 inches wide, depth of the base is 20 1/2 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 200 lbs. The mirror, marble and base does separate to allow for easier handling during shipping. The wide beveled mirror measures 31 1/2 inches high by 33 1/4 inches wide. The head-board of the bed has been shortened at some point in time and done very well. The marble has no breaks or chips and is in wonderful antique condition. We believe the fancy brass pulls on the drawers to also be original. Also all the locks are intact on the drawers but we do not have they key. This beautiful French walnut bedroom suite is circa 1880 and is in excellent antique condition. The quality and beauty of this set is remarkable. Although it is over 130 years old. I see no problems. When we purchased this set about 15 years ago. I totally cleaned the entire set using mineral spirits to remove dirt and old waxes and polishes. I then applied a total of five coats of tung oil to each piece. Tung oil gives an ideal, long-lasting finish to wood. French beds take a slightly different size mattress. So we are including the mattress and box spring with the set. Full-size bedding fits fine. We moved to a different house and have no room in our guest room for these pieces. This set has awesome carvings of acorns. Dragons, leaves and shields from top to bottom.even the side rails have detailed carvings with carved acorn finials on the headboard and dresser. This fine 19th century set appears to have it original finish as well as the original hardware and mirror. This set was made by Bancroft& Boyden as marked on the inside of the drawers and the dresser does have its original casters intact on the base. The locks are intact on the drawers but we do not have they key. This is a very heavy, solid set and the bed sets up tight and secure. The original mirror does show age appropriate streaking ... moreas common in old mirrors. The only apologies I can find is one of the acorn finials on the bed has a chip on the backside and there is a small piece of molding missing on the left side of the mirror base where it rests on the dresser.see last picture. This 19th century set appears to be all original with its old original finish. Beveled mirrors and brass Eastlake hardware and the washstand and dresser both have tasseled keys that work the locks. The bed sets up tight and sturdy, the dresser and washstand are solid and tight as well. The original wide beveled mirrors do show some cloudiness and streaking that is age appropriate and the marble has no chips or cracks but does have some discoloration and staining. The old original finish does show wear as expected with its age and there is some veneer loss to the top of the footboard left side.This bedroom set is in wonderful original antique condition ... morebut as with all antiques are not perfect but have time worn marks of character and usage they have acquired over they past 100 plus years. It even has the original label where it came out of Massachusetts brand new through a furniture company and it landed on the coast of Maine. Where it has been since the 1860s era. The set consists of a burl walnut extra tall bed, a gorgeous three drawer with a mystery secret drawer on the bottom dresser with a swivel mirror top with ditty boxes and candle shelves and also a gorgeous marble top extra high backsplash marble top commode in great condition. The set is pretty much trouble free. There is a crack across the foot board of the bed that was most likely knocked over somewhere in the ... moreday and someone has repaired it in their own way. It is all safe and sound. There is also a little tiny piece of a carved crest missing on top of the mirror. Other than that it is real nice with the natural patina of a 150 piece old set and the marble is in great condition. The overall size of the wash stand is 32.5 inches wide. 20 inches deep and 42 inches high because of the 13 inch high backsplash. The wash stand has a beautiful walnut trim on the drawer, carved cornices one the corners of the picture frame doors. The gray and grain marble top is in great shape. The bed is 63.25 inches wide on the outside. Approximately 82 inches tall on the headboard, 36 inches high on the footboard. The inside dimensions are 56 inches wide and 74 inches long due to the curved footboard. It will fit a modern day mattress and box spring tightly. We can extend the rails if the buyer so desires to make it a comfortable fit. The bed has a wonderful applied big carved crest crown on top, removable diamond point incise carved finials, race track molding on the headboard, raised burl panels and carved wing side rails.
