Veill- I am trying to find a signture It is like his style though. Condition: Sturdy. Original patina. The brass tacks on the top of the chair appear to be original. The tacks in the carpet. The carpet, and the material on the back are probably not original. Looks to have been reupholstered years ago and was very well done. The carpet really fits that period. Size: This antique folding rocking chair is 17-1/2" wide. Unfolded it stands 33-1/2" tall X 17-1/2" wide X 22" deep. The seat of the chair slants and is 14" from the ground in the rear and 15-3/4" from the ground in the front. Folded flat it is 38-1/2" tall. Still 17-1/2" wide, and 6-1/2" deep. This chair folds for easy storage. It is a fine dark wood with a beautiful patina. I believe it is walniut. It is built very well and comfortable. The back gently curves. On each side of the top back are two Victorian finlials. The seat is similar a carpet material. But may not be original. It looks great though. There is some fringe missing on the carpet on the top of the chair. This chair is from the 1800s. We bought it in an antique shop years ago and used it at Civil War Reenactments. The carvings and details on this piece are absolutely fabulous! We can confidently attribute this outstanding Etagere to George W. Ware and Company. Boston, Massachusettes. The top of this wonderful Etagere is graced with a magnificent pierced carved crown adorned with massive fruits and nuts. Carved scrolls, a grape cluster, along with leaf and foliate carvings and pierced scrolled work. This glorious crown sits upon the substantial arc-shaped bonnet top which provides the perfect introduction to the large oval mirror. This large oval mirror is encased in beautiful picture-frame moulding and appears to be original. Plenty of display opportunity is found on the eight graduated scalloped display surfaces as well as on the larger center white marble top display area above the serpentine bottom drawer. The white marble top has beveled. Scalloped edging and is in excellent condition for its age. Each of the eight graduated display surfaces are accented with pierced scrolled work and are supported with elegant turned posts with handsome turned finials on top. It has four dove tail drawer going down the left-hand side and four going down the right-hand side. The center drawer has round dove tail as expected from the Eastlake era. It has burl walnut trim on the fronts with an ogee bevel edge around the routed top. It has a black felt interior on the writing surface that is nice. The finish on the sides is amazing. It has panel sides, rope twisted molding, detail cast brass hardware, escutcheons are intact. There are no keys or locks. The desk is 48 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 30 inches tall. There’s a lever and string device that allows two latches to engage, stopping all rocking action. This kind of crib was the height of safety when made. But I'm sure it no longer meets"Consumer Products Safety Commission" standards for baby items. It's essentially a piece of history that is more for display than daily use. though it worked fine for us 30 years ago!

An exquisite antique bedroom suite all original dating to the mid to late 1800's. This is a 3 piece set made from walnut. Burl walnut and veneer and accented with marble and original hardware that comes with the following pieces. Bed: The stunning bed is sure to be a focal point in the room. The headboard stands 70" high at the back center. It is 65" wide at the widest point. The footboard measures 38" in height at the center. The carved bird motif on the headboard matches the motif on the footboard. The upper edges of the headboard are done in an elaborate acanthus leaf pattern and a matching pattern surrounds the birds in the center. The details on the birds is incredible with finely details individual feathers. There are losses to the veneer on this and there is also a section of wood missing on the carved back area. ... moreThe footboard has a metal strip on the back of it holding the two boards together and there is a paper coating it that has losses. There are age and use appropriate dings and scratches to the frame that one would expect to find on an item of this age. Dresser: The dresser has a beautiful black and gold and white veined marble top. This is one solid sheet of marble. There are some light scratches on the marble but there are no cracks in this piece. The dresser stands 37" high to the top of the marble slab. It is 36.25" wide and at the widest depth it is 21.5" It stands 74" high to the top of the mirror at the center. There are some light losses to the carving and scratches from use on this as well. There are cracks on the side but they do not affect the integrity of the piece.This also has the same matching cross diamond pattern on the sides and front as seen on the head and foot boards of the bed. The edges are also trimmed with an acanthus motif. There is a single drawer above two doors that open to reveal shelving. There is a lock on this and it does work. Offered for auction is this beautiful walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian double high back bedstead and half commode/somnoe and dresser w/mirror. The finish is a light walnut which appears to be in pretty good condition with some areas of discoloration. The headboard is 7'4" h x 5'4" w. Foot board is 3'2 1/2" tall. Takes a full double mattress. There is a large carved cartouche at the top of the multi curved headboard with large applied panels with walnut burl veneer. Main part of the headboard has two recessed panels with assymetrical curved tops. Sides of the headboard are topped by large carved and turned finials. Footboard has same raised molding but has an elaborate carved element in the middle of the curved footboard. Side boards have raised molding and fit into foot and headboards with double hooks that ... morefit into notched holes. Mirrored dresser is same height and matches the carving and design of the bed headboard. Two candle shelves and two handkerchief boxes complement the mirrored back of the dresser. Both with marble tops. Solid walnut with matched burl panels. The rich deep finish is excellent. American made antique furniture, hardware is original. Drawers have"pin and cove" or round dovetail joints, characteristic of the era. Marble tops have minor stains and have been polished and sealed for protection. The dresser marble has been repaired and the small chest marble has plugged holes near the back, see photos.
