The wood flanking the mirror has the same ornate design carved and pressed in it. The tops. Doors and center drawer front are all covered in beautiful burled walnut veneer. Behind each door is a dovetail drawer and shelving for extra storage. There are teardrop style pulls on the doors and on the center drawer. The burled veneer is splitting in some areas and the wood has expanded and retracted over the years causing splits in a couple of areas. Be sure to check out the photos below. I do not know the maker or exact date this vanity was made. I believe it is from the Art Nouveau era which makes it about 100 years old. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. Beautiful Handmade Queen Cherry Wood Rope Bed from Cherry Creek. NY. It was modified to add a foot to accommodate taller people. See#8 photo) It was made in the late 1800's. Owned by my Great Grandmother Louise Parsons. Her father was the first physician in the Forestville NY area. It is Colonial style. There are some cracks and scuffs. But the bed is structurally sound. Length of mattress area 76" Width of mattress area is 45 3/8" Longest width 52" Height 44 1/4" Length 84" It is very pretty overall. But it does have some wear and minor scratches on it- consistent with the age of the piece. The white lines on the the lower joints are cracks. three of the four are cracked but the wood is still attached and quite rigid and strong. The cracks can be glued and clamped. Or just filled and sanded. The cracks are most ... morelikely from the wood swelling and shrinking from moisture. The boards used are wide and thick. And do flex with time. Like I said before. I don't know how they got to Wyoming. Maybe by wagon train( These beds are not damaged. And not dirty. They are just mighty aged. And have not been restored. So, authentic chic'n shabby, as shown. My intention. Was to strip and refinish. But that didn't happen. I kept these beds on hand for extra guests. Each has 2" wide Steel'L' shape brackets to hold a platform. And I just added a 3/4" thick strand board from Home Depot. Cut short for ease to 32" x 72" And these hold a ton. No prob. These beds come apart. 4 pieces each, and are easy to assemble by hand. Antique Victorian Eastlake wood bed and custom mattress - Turn of the century
This is an Eastlake wooden bed from the turn of the century in the original finish. It has been in my family since purchased. It has nice incise carvings and burl accents. The bed is in good condition and includes the original headboard. Footboard, and attaching side rails. It is a 3/4 size bed, so it is slightly smaller than a full size bed so I had a custom mattress made for it but full size sheets fit it fine. The custom made mattress and bunky board are in excellent condition(only slept on twice) The bed measures- 53" wide x 75.5" long. Antique Carved Wood Twin Headboard Pair
Set of 2 carved.Twin size mahogany headboards. Had taken photos to Bonham& Butterfield's in San Francisco and was told these would have been made in the late 1800's-up to 1910, here in the United States, of Mahogany. Both hand carved and machine tooled. They have a dark, rich brown stain. Considering their age, they are in very good condition. The round peg dowels which connect the main body to the side posts are loose and one is missing. There were additional pieces of wood bolted to the lower legs: i believe for attaching to a wall previously. I was given these 15 years ago and have had them stored in my basement workroom:which is dry and ventilated,so they have not endured overly hot and dry,nor damp conditions. Both have various nicks and scratches due to normal wear and tear throughout the years; but would be hardly noticeable ... morewith a good polishing. You'll need to special order a full size mattress because it is shorter than standard length when sideboards are attached to head and foot board- it is an antique. I used the head and foot board with a standard full metal bed frame in order to use a standard full size mattress. This is a family heirloom. Passed down to me from my grandparents but we know longer have room for it in our home. Dresser- 42 high by 40 wide- this is an old dresser with a lot of history- it has spent only 19 of those years with me so I don't know all the history. I refinished only the top of the dresser- shortly after that. There was some sort of spill that left approx. a one inch diameter spot which I have not fixed. I purchased this bed at an Illinois farmhouse estate sale about 20 years ago. Overall good condition for age; please see photos for detailed views. It is over 125 years. So do expect some wear. There is a small piece missing from decorative top piece and a minor stress crack on one of the side rails. Very solid, sturdy bed. These items are a pair of walnut face medallions that belong on the top of a Victorian marble top dresser or a Victorian bed. Beautiful walnut. The one on the left in the first pictures is perfect. The one on the right has an issue and the bottom and a small issue at the top on the right curve. They weigh right at about 5 pounds each. They are close to 18" tall. 12" wide and 4" at the deepest part of the wood. Excellent carving. I am not sure what the faces are made of but am sure they are from the period. We believe it is composed of walnut with a medium-tone finish. Included in this set are a headboard. Footboard, side rails and slats. There is a lace dust ruffle stapled to the back of the footboard. This could be removed easily if the buyer so chooses. This set was made to hold a full extra-long size mattress. It is 56 7/8" wide. The highest point on the headboard is 83 1/4" The footboard is 31" in height. The bottom of the mattress would sit approximately 10" off of the ground(when placed on top of the slats) This is in great. Antique condition overall with some general signs of age and use. It appears as though the side rails were replaced at some point, ... morebecause they are held together with phillips head screws. The rails do, however, match rather perfectly. The top crown of the headboard was cracked and repaired by the previous owner. I also see a crack in the middle of the headboard, which I have shown in pictures. It is all original& I have loved it more then 25 yrs. now. I am the one who painted it. I know, it was really hard for me to do as I love re-storing Victorian antiques but after 20 yrs. of it being very very dark stained& me drooling at white painted furniture for years so I finally sucked it up& went for it. Bought some of that fancy chalk paint for 38.50 a quart& it took 2 quarts& then I lightly brushed on the pink to show off& make the embellishments pop. The embellishments are all original. The rails are even a little curvy at the ends& they too are painted& original. I see these sell for1,300 to 2,400 at the antique malls I am simply asking 275.00! It would be hard to find even a reproduction antique bed for that price. We have a extra full size mattress for it if you want it but no box springs. ANTIQUE MISSION BED 1800s OLDER? 48"X72" MATTRESS DARK WOOD PRIMITIVE
Unique bed. In style and size. It is in between a full and a twin. Perfect for the married couple. Were still newlyweds! But really nice size for cuddling) The mattress would be about 48"X72" I am not sure of the era. I am guessing 1800s at least from style and hardware. Very good condition with minor wear. This includes the one loose leg side trim as shown in two consecutive pictures. A little glue and it will be fine. Scratches and knicks as is expected from a bed this age. It has some holes from screws inside the legs near where the rails connect. The inside of the rails have wear and holes as shown. They will need a ledge to support slats. 4174. this is a very pretty bed. the picture colors are not the best to show it's pretty finish as I was in the sun and the shade and so when I put the pictures on the computer the color was just not real flattering to the bed and made it look flat and dry but the finish is really nice. the bed stands 78 1/2" about 6 1/2 feet tall) tall at the center of the crown on the head board.
