There are some light surface scratches from general use over the years, but the bed is in overall amazing condition. The side rails are 74.5” long, 8” top to bottom. The footboard is 34.5” tall, 3.5” thick at the top, 58.5” wide. The side rails will sit approximately 9” off the ground when in place. The headboard is 60.5” tall, the slots for the side rails to fit into are 54.5” apart, so the bed could accommodate a mattress that is 54” wide.

Antique Victorian Walnut Highly Carved Bedroom Suite Bed/Dresser/Night Stand
An exquisite antique bedroom suite all original dating to the mid to late 1800's. This is a 3 piece set made from walnut. Burl walnut and veneer and accented with marble and original hardware that comes with the following pieces. Bed: The stunning bed is sure to be a focal point in the room. The headboard stands 70" high at the back center. It is 65" wide at the widest point. The footboard measures 38" in height at the center. The carved bird motif on the headboard matches the motif on the footboard. The upper edges of the headboard are done in an elaborate acanthus leaf pattern and a matching pattern surrounds the birds in the center. The details on the birds is incredible with finely details individual feathers. There are losses to the veneer on this and there is also a section of wood missing on the carved back area. ... moreThe footboard has a metal strip on the back of it holding the two boards together and there is a paper coating it that has losses. There are age and use appropriate dings and scratches to the frame that one would expect to find on an item of this age. Dresser: The dresser has a beautiful black and gold and white veined marble top. This is one solid sheet of marble. There are some light scratches on the marble but there are no cracks in this piece. The dresser stands 37" high to the top of the marble slab. It is 36.25" wide and at the widest depth it is 21.5" It stands 74" high to the top of the mirror at the center. There are some light losses to the carving and scratches from use on this as well. There are cracks on the side but they do not affect the integrity of the piece.This also has the same matching cross diamond pattern on the sides and front as seen on the head and foot boards of the bed. The edges are also trimmed with an acanthus motif. There is a single drawer above two doors that open to reveal shelving. There is a lock on this and it does work. Victorian 1850's Walnut Bed Frame and Dressers
All this bed set came from a certified antique dealer in Vermont. As a couple we have never used it for anything more than decor. The bed is full size. But can accomodate many queen sized mattress and box spring sets so long as they are not oversized. The wood is in remarkable condition and nearly unblemished for it's size. This includes the bed and two dresser pieces with a large full length mirror dating back to the 1850's. The smaller dresser contains a marble top in perfect original condition. The marble top is available on the dresser with the mirror as well, however, there is a crack down the middle. The crack is repaired but still visible. If the marble is replaced or repaired by the buyer, the value of this set would increase exponentially. This is a beautiful bed set and we hate to part ways. Offered for auction is this beautiful walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian double high back bedstead and half commode/somnoe and dresser w/mirror. The finish is a light walnut which appears to be in pretty good condition with some areas of discoloration. The headboard is 7'4" h x 5'4" w. Foot board is 3'2 1/2" tall. Takes a full double mattress. There is a large carved cartouche at the top of the multi curved headboard with large applied panels with walnut burl veneer. Main part of the headboard has two recessed panels with assymetrical curved tops. Sides of the headboard are topped by large carved and turned finials. Footboard has same raised molding but has an elaborate carved element in the middle of the curved footboard. Side boards have raised molding and fit into foot and headboards with double hooks that ... morefit into notched holes. Mirrored dresser is same height and matches the carving and design of the bed headboard. Two candle shelves and two handkerchief boxes complement the mirrored back of the dresser. Victorian Walnut Bedroom set Dresser Bed Washstand Highboy Stand C.1870 "LOOK"
Up for auction is this stunning Victorian Walnut 4 Piece Bedroom set. All hand carved with burl veneer. Inside dresser drawers is a birdseye maple veneer. Hardware handles have been replaced on the wash stand and the dresser. The handles are original to the Highboy with the door front. The bed is 88" tall to the top of the carving and matress area is 61" x 75" The dresser is 88" tall to the top of the carving and 54"w. x 23" d. Wash stand is 28" tall by 37" wide by 17-1/2" deep with a marble top. The Highboy is 54-1/2" tall by 37" w. by 21-1/2 d. with 2 doors that lock and all the pieces have the original keys with them. The set being this old does have some aging marks(and who of us don't with that age) but is in very good condition. Other comparible sets sell for sell for $12.000.00 ... moreto $18,000.00. We believe this grand bed to have its original finish and features bountiful detailed carvings with gorgeous. Large turned walnut finials that adorn the shoulders of the head-board and carved rosettes, roundels and burl walnut panels. The footboard is equally as lovely with the inside being finished with carvings at the top so when in bed you will see the inside of the foot-board is just as lovely as the rest of the bed.shows exceptional attention to detail! This is a beautiful dresser. Commote and bed set. The bed is only the head board and footboard. No side rails. I have the mirror for the one dresser. The spoon carving in these pieces is gorgeous. They are made of walnut. The furniture needs a good cleaning. There is some ware on the corners and normal contact points. The hardware is all complete. The head board meassures 56.5" wide by 47" tall. The dresser measures 42" wide by 20" deep by 31" tall. The commote measures 30.5" wide by 17" deep by 28.5" tall.
