I got these beds from an old farm house in Ohio. I was told the first one was a rope style bed so that is what I am calling it. The bed has some scratches and wear because it is very old. It looks to be in original condition. I have added lots of pics so you can see the condition.Both are a bed and a half or 3/4 sized which ever you prefer to call them(about four inches smaller than a full sized bed) The second bed I have just added to the listing also came from the same house. It is very primitive but cool. It has a very tall head board and a rounded foot board. It has an ornate piece on the top but it is broken in a couple of places. I don't know much about antique furniture, this has been lovingly used in our family since it was acquired in the 1930's. It probably dates back to the 1890's, and everything is in its original state since we have owned it, I cannot tell before that. I think the wood is mahogany. The drawers are dovetailed. The headboard is an impressive 84" tall and 54" wide. And 79" long. The bed uses a 3/4 size mattress. Mattress and box springs included if desired) The footboard is 36" high. The dresser is 90" tall. The bottom part measures 30" ... morehigh x 38" at its widest point. The marble top is 41" x 19" The commode is 30" x 31" The marble top is 31 1/2" x 30" and the backsplash is 5" high. This set shows signs of age and being used. Although nothing major, no cracks, etc. and the marble is in good shape. For about the last 40 years it was just used as a guest bedroom set. Hand Carved VICTORIAN BED& BED SPRINGS + 2 DRESSERS. The entire bed is solid oak with the original finish. The bed& springs were in continuous use from 1876 thru 2008 in the same family. Outside Bed Measurements are at Headboard Height: 57” Footboard Height: 42” outside Length: 77” outside Width: 53½” The inside bed measurements are: Length: 73” by Width: 51” The head& foot boards are on casters& the entire bed rolls easily for cleaning or, when taken apart, for transportation. The side rails slip easily in& out of slots in the head& foot boards. It comes with the slats, including the small center one which was used to distributed the weight of the mattress& people evenly on the center of the mesh springs. The bed springs, with the original stenciled date of 1876, are made of steel mesh stretched tightly over ... morethe solid oak frame& secured at the ends with thick iron pieces. The springs are still firm& without any sag. There is no indication of a manufacturer’s name on the mesh or iron end pieces and they may have been mail order. The bed needs a little loving care– mostly just a good cleaning(the spot of white on the foot board decoration(see pic) is a small streak of paint) being dusty and covered in old furniture polish. It does have a few scratches& small dings from age, but nothing major. Both dressers were made at the time as the bed, 1876, and by the same craftsman. They are oak& are all original with no replacement pieces& with the original finish. THE LARGE DRESSER with associated mirror measures: Height: 44” Depth: 19” Width: 41” The Ogee mirror is an oval 23 ½” by 15” is probably a later addition. The dresser has 2 trinket drawers made with key holes, but without knobs, a small bow front top drawer& 3 large lower drawers; all of which work properly. This antique brass bed dates to the Victorian era and measures 55 inches wide and measures 75 inches in length. Making this a full-size bed. The headboard stands 64 inches tall and the footboard stands 40 inches tall. This bed is authentic. Old, has a great patina. It is constructed from rolled solid brass with a lacquer finish. If one was so inclined, this one would shine up well and present a super glossy finish. Some people like these with patina, and some all gussied up so we will let the winning bidder make the decision. There are some small dents and dings typical with an antique utilitarian item. Offered for auction is this beautiful walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian double high back bedstead and half commode/somnoe and dresser w/mirror. The finish is a light walnut which appears to be in pretty good condition with some areas of discoloration. The headboard is 7'4" h x 5'4" w. Foot board is 3'2 1/2" tall. Takes a full double mattress. There is a large carved cartouche at the top of the multi curved headboard with large applied panels with walnut burl veneer. Main part of the headboard has two recessed panels with assymetrical curved tops. Sides of the headboard are topped by large carved and turned finials. Footboard has same raised molding but has an elaborate carved element in the middle of the curved footboard. Side boards have raised molding and fit into foot and headboards with double hooks that ... morefit into notched holes. Mirrored dresser is same height and matches the carving and design of the bed headboard. Two candle shelves and two handkerchief boxes complement the mirrored back of the dresser. Dresser has 3 drawers with wood handles and racetrack style molding and a 4th hidden drawer in the plinth of the dresser. White marble is broken in half with a section missing. The half commode has a nice white/grey marble top over a single drawer with circular molding and carved handle all over a single cupboard door with burl walnut panel and wooden knob and key. Sides of commode are rectangular recessed. Super nice bed set and short enough to fit any ceiling of a normal house. Dings. Scratches, abrasions consistent with age of furniture. PAIR of Jellymould China Bed Knobs For Victorian Brass or Iron Bed Pair of very scarce Jellymould pattern Victorian china bed knobs with threaded brass bases. They are just under 3 inches high. And 2.25 inches diameter. They are in good overall condition with a couple of small manufactiring flaws in the china. Thread is more worn in one of them. Brass will polish bright. But has been left dull in case buyer wants to match them with others. Note that I cannot guarantee that they will fit any bed. But can often be modified to suit by soldering a thick brass washer with the correct thread to the base and repolishing or by filling with a hard epoxy and recutting a thread. These have come from a family member who used to repair brass beds but has now stopped. Please see my for a few more including other jellymould pattern. You don't find them like this very often but we found two from the same barn! Right out of the barn. This is a great old iron bed from the late 1800s. With great patina this bed could have many uses as a decorative piece in the house or garden. This listing includes only the head and foot of the bed as photographed. I do not have side rails but the fittings are fairly standard and most iron bed side rails will fit these beds. The bed looks to be a full or double bed size and measures approximately 54" wide. UP FOR BID IS AN ANTIQUE BEDROOM SET. THIS SET WAS MY GRANDMOTHERS. I'M GOING TO SAY IT WAS PROBABLY PURCHASED SOMETIME BETWEEN 1890-1899, WHEN SHE MOVED HER FROM ILLINOIS. THE SET IS IN ITS ORIGINAL FINISH SO IT SHOWS SOME WEAR AND TEAR. A FEW SCRATCHES ON THE BED AND TRIED TO SHOW IN PICTURES THE DAMAGE TO THE DRESSERS. WOULD GUESS IT TO BE MAHOGANY OR CHERRY, SORRY NOT GOOD WITH WOOD TYPES.THE BED IS A FULL SLEIGH BED AND COMES WITH ITS ORIGINAL BOX SPRING, THE HEADBOARD IS 53 1/2' TALL X 56 1/2" WIDE. FOOTBOARD IS 37" TALL X 56 1/2" WIDE. THE BED RAILS ARE 74" LONG. THE 4 DRAWER DRESSER IS 67" TALL TO TOP OF THE MIRROR, 36" TO TOP OF THE DRESSER AND 41" WIDE. THE DRESSER WITH 6 DRAWERS IS 67" TALL, 48" TO TOP OF DRESSER AND 31" WIDE. THE NIGHTSTAND IS 31" TALL AND 14" ... moreWIDE. Antique Iron Bed with Brass Trim. Complete. Nothing missing. Paint is worn but not Flaking or Peeling. As far as construction of the bed I would call it on the heavier side& very sturdy. Headboard& matching footboard with matching rails. Bed goes together with ease. You just need wooden ore metal slats to go across the frame to hold up the box spring& mattress. Bed measures 36 1/2 inches across, 75 1/2 inches long. Headboard is 59 inches tall& the footboard is 41 inches high. We can ship anywhere in the country. Buyer pays shipping& wrapping.
