I went to a ... moregood auction in upstate New York the other day and tried to pick up smaller furniture that fits within Greyhound Express size limits. Anyway this is a score and I'm proud to offer this for your consideration. I believe this is a No 17 model desk and it is truly in very nice condition with no signs of repairs or break except the bottom drawer has a minor glue in corner. The finish is very good as the pictures should show off and the original key works fine and all hardware is original and working perfectly. It is nice and sturdy a sets flush with no wobbles. It measures 47" tall x 30" wide x 17" deep. The back is not beautiful with the white wash but the original Larkin labels are present and in good shape. Once again Greyhound Express is great and should ship this for about 90 west coast and 70 east. As long as you can pick it up. Local pick up is always option too and I now have a utility trailer and can deliver within reason. I tried to picture it well to both show it off and answer questions and price it nice so shipping is easier on wallet. I saw the same desk in online shop for 650 plus shipping. Walnut Jenny Lind Style Twin Bed
We are very pleased and excited to be offering a pair of Jenny Lind twin size full walnut spindle beds for sale. We acquired these beds at a recent estate sale and have made only small repairs to them. The break in picture 6 has been repaired. They were stored in a barn for quite some time. These beds are solid walnut. They have had extensions added some time ago and the work is pretty well done. This Jenny Lind spindle bed has some mars from its age and wear as well as a couple of splits, breaks and cracks. The headboard where the piece is missing, I do recall mention that they would give that to us, I will check to make sure we received it. There is also a break on the headboard between one of the spindles and at the footboard one of the spindles is broken. Also, one of the extensions has cracked, however it does remain solid. The brass ... morehooks are original and have been taken from the original positions and put on the extensions. The slats are missing so the buyer would need to be aware of this. As I stated, we acquired a pair of these charming Jenny Lind twin spindle beds and although I have listed them separately, they can be sold as a pair, just contact me and we can come to a reasonable combined price. Architects and connoisseurs, Wealthy and Tasteful people everywhere, This fine old 18th century Louis 15th breakfront came from the wonderful little hunting Castle of an old dentist who died in Paris about 18 years ago. He was nearly 100 then. His GGG grand father was the personal dentist of Louis 15th himself. He was given the right to hunt in the King's forest. The BOIS de Versailles and he built a small Castle like hunting lodge there for him. As time went on through the several hundred years the descendants of this Louis 15th's dentist all became dentists as well enjoying the reputation gained by the original dentist to the King and the right to hunt in the Bois de Versailles was passed down along with their profession as dentists. This last old gentleman who died was the last of the ... moremale heirs in the line so the Castle was reverted to the State and his property was cleared out by the person from whom I purchased a number of items in 1996 while there on a honey moon with my wife. I got most of the items from this estate and I have sold some of the items over the years but I still have several pieces such as the painting dated 1677 and signed by the artist who painted most of the members of the kings cabinet and court. I have still a number of 1820-30 day beds, as well as a pair of gothic twin beds, a great beautiful carved 10 foot hall or library table, a dental cabinet in the Louis 15th style{shown in listing} a large sized slant from desk of the period about 1765 as well as the breakfront, and a number of other items. These items would not even be allowed to leave FRANCE in this day and time. This is a cultural treasure and the Louvre would never have let it out, even then, but now they would take years to decide if it could leave the country and then, they would not let it leave. Antique Jenny Lind walnut spool twin bed with slats 100+ yrs in my family
You are b idding on an antique Jenny Lind spool bed in twin size. This bed has been in my family for at least 5 generations. When I was a little girl my sister and I needed beds(this was about 1963) So my grandparents went into the old brick one-room schoolhouse on their property, which they used as a storage shed. These beds had been stored in there for at least 60 years by that time. It is a twin bed frame. Included are: headboard. Foot board, original wood side rails, original slats(which were made from antique wood floor boards by my great-grand-father) There is original metal hardware to connect the side rails to the head and foot board- it is a metal keyhole slot. I have tried to photo graph its condition as accurately as I can. For such a well-used piece. Its overall condition is pretty good. The finish is worn. Which I personally ... morelove, but you could paint it too. There is a missing ch unk out of the foot board"shoulder" which is about 1 inch by 2 inches. It still works fine. But needs to be filled with wood putty or similar to make it look better. A few places have been glued back together over the years. There are numerous screw holes from people putting the bed together, although it will assemble without the screws. The wood slats simply set into the niches of the side rails. They can be screwed into place for a more permanent solution. The second bed is being offered in a separate listing. For parts. Sadly, it has not weathered as well as its mate. Antique Spoon-carved Three-quarter Bed Frame
This rare and beautiful Eastlake-style bed frame is in excellent condition. With one minor exception(see below) and very solid. It was built sometime between the mid-to-late nineteenth century. The frame appears to be hand-built of Maple with Burled Walnut appliques on the headboard. The design work, primarily carved into the wood, is primitive, however some of the appliques on the headboard reflect an early Prairie Style…but long before Frank Lloyd Wright. It has been in my family for 48 years and in my ex-wife’s family for four generations. There is a repair(not visible in the assembled bed) that was done before my time. A decorative piece on the end of a side rail at the foot of the bed shows signs of being re-glued(see photo) and a replacement corner brace was added. Recently acquired from an old southern estate. This lovely half tester bed appears to be made of walnut& rosewood. In the 1800's rosewood was highly sought after and quite expensive. Rosewood has a stunning vibrant grain but is also a very soft wood. For these reasons stronger and less expensive woods, like walnut& mahogany, were used in combination with rosewood solids and veneers. In this particular case it appears that walnut was used and then rosewood graining was hand applied to give the appears of an entirely rosewood bed. It is obviously part of a wooden bedstead but I only have the headboard or it maybe the bed end but it is big enough to fit a double bed. It cost me over £100 20 years ago. Original double cast iron sprung bed base. Complete and in lovely condition. The main frame(Currently Painted green) will require some cleaning and repainting. So it’s a refurbishment project. All springs, etc. are complete and in really good condition. There are four end brackets(Please see photos) for fixing the bed base. These can be removed as they are bolted to the main base frame. Also included the original ring spanner to loosen the bolts. Hinges work perfectly in the middle to close up and transport the base. It stays together fine. The castors do not roll very well because of the rust, and may need to be replaced. Empire Bedroom Set: Fat Posts and Lion's Paw Feet
It is very rare for the pieces in a bedroom suite to be kept together for 150 years. All three pieces have lion's paw feet. Though the two dressers have plainer bun feet in the back. I believe that this style is most often called'American Empire, and is constructed using flame mahogany veneers and solids. The bed features extravagantly fat posts and a carved pineapple in the center of the headboard. It is slightly smaller than queen size, which unusually large for the era. It shows no sign of having been modified, so apparently it was built for a very large person. The upper mattress is a McRoskey(in a custom size) The lower mattress has not fared well in storage and should probably be replaced. There are some scratches on the headboard. Both of the dressers have mirrors, though only the mirror on the taller dresser is the original ... morebeveled mirror. The wide dresser's mirror had been replaced before I purchased it, and it is not beveled. The drawers have been repaired and reinforced. The wide dresser was actually stolen from my garage at one point and recovered by the police three years later. When I bought it in 1990, I was told that the set was from the estate of an Oklahoma City antique dealer and his wife, and that they had used it in their own bedroom. These pieces have personality and substance. Bed: head 72 inches tall at post(Pictures 1-4) Wide dresser: 71 inches at the top of the mirror. 55.5 inches wide, 25.5 inches deep(Pictures 5-8) Tall dresser: 70 inches at the top of the mirror. 40.5 inches wide, 21 inches deep(Pictures 9-12) The set is in a secure storage facility in Point Richmond. Antique Doll Bed & Bedding Early 1800's Signed Furniture Quilt Matress Pillow
Antique Doll Bed& Bedding! A gift from Mary Lennox(born 1793) to a cherished daughter. Purchased at estate sale. R eportedly handed down for generations. Mattress on bed signed in ink"Mary Lennox over what appears to be a 7" A note is sewn on the mattress" Mary Lennox own writing. she was born 1793. February 14" We were able to track down some facts about Mary. She was(as indicated on her handiwork) born February 14. 1793 to Alexander& Elizabeth(McNair) Erskine. She married Captain Thomas Lennox April 20, 1820. We were told that the bedding and bed was made for a daughter(we cannot confirm that- however, one of the doll sheets is marked"Georgianna Lennox" and what appears to be"A 2" age 2? Mary now rests with her husband in Sheepscot Cemetery. Newcastle, Lincoln County, Maine. A picture of their ... moregrave site- along with Mary's date of passing(1878) and age(85) is shown in the listing. A WONDERFUL FIND! The bed is about 20 inches long; about 9.75 inches wide; about 8 inches tall(at head board)we think walnut. But cannot tell with certainty. The pieces are loose, and could be reglued. The foot board is missing. The old string support for the mattress still works fine. There are little marks and scratches here and there, but considering it was crafter well before the Civil War it is in impressive condition. The mattress(with mattress cover Mary made) fits the bed the bed nicely. Soiled. Stains a few tiny holes. The pillow is soiled& stained, but in remarkably good shape. The comforter is also soil& stained…and has little feathers trying to protrude! An extra pillow case and sheet are also soiled and stained, with a few little holes in sheet. The sheet has in black script"Georgianna Y(we think) Lennox A. 2" on it. One sheet is very white, and unsoiled compared to the other items of bedding. It looks newer than all the rest. Gorgeous Classic American Empire Flamed Mahogany Tall Post Tester Bed~c1820's Being offered for sale is this Gorgeous American Empire Flamed Mahogany Tall Post Tester Bed circa 1820's. This early 19th century bed has a commanding presence and even appears to have its old original slats! The head-board features a arched shaped top with scrolls at the shoulders and recessed panels of flamed mahogany below. Beautiful and substantial flamed mahogany tall posts( 4 1/2 inches wide at the square portion) feature carved bee-hive type finials with the tester top frame resting on the top. The bed can also be used with out the tester frame This fine bed bolts together very tight and sturdy. The only apology I can find for this nearly 200 year old bed would be a some small veneer losses here and there on the posts at the square base portion which ... moreis not very noticeable unless very close inspection and not an issue of the sturdiness of the bed and one of the wood bed bolt covers appears to have been replaced at some point in time see last picture. Truly a very impressive bed that is sure to be a grand focal point of any bedroom especially when the tester top is dressed and draped with fabric! Measurements: posts measure 80 in. tall(6ft 6 in. Head-board center 67 1/2 inches tall Height of side rails to the floor 15 1/2 inches outside with of bed 66 1/2 inches outside length of bed 83 inches mattress area: 64 1/2 in. wide by 72 1/2 in. long. Its wide enough for a queen but would need a mattress made for it for the length or extend the wood rails to add 5 1/2 inches in the length so it would fit a todays queen size set. The decades-old paint on this bed is delicately distressed for its age. All on this bed is in working order.
