Oak Eastlake 3/4 bed with side rails Victorian
Oak Eastlake bed from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is the 3/4 size with the attaching side rails. At one time it was painted a light blue which is still present on the back of the headboard. Fortunately nothing was damaged and the patina is still intact and the excellent eastlake workmanship is not impaired. It seems like many individuals aren't too successful selling just one piece of furniture on Ebay.So I've included close to half of what I would like to find a new home. Antique 1800's Rope Bed, cherry, turned rails, Pennsylvania origin, great style
Bought many years ago in Pennsylvania Dutch countryside. A great condition rope bed. Very fancy turned railings on the head and foot boards. All of the rope pegs are intact. Appears to be hand carved. A pair of braces was added to the side rails to help hold it together. These can easily be removed. All wood- no nails used in construction, only pegs. Solid cherry- with some of the planking more than a foot wide. Very old- each corner has roman numerals scored in it to match the bed rails. A really great antique piece of history! Local pickup only

Details: An antique c.1840-1870 handmade solid walnut rope bed. The bed has been converted from being a rope bed. Holes plugged, and fitted with newer solid wood rails to accommodate a full-size mattress set. The headboard and footboard are identical in size and style. Each one is made using two walnut panels, topped by a rolling pin crest, flanked by low, solid posts that feature mushroom-cap finials. The finish is original. Showing age appropriate patina, more so to the footboard where the finish is lighter along the top due to blankets being hung over it for many years. The overall condition is very good, only issues to report are minor scuffs and an old split in one wood panel on the footboard, wood contracting? The split does not affect the stability of the bed at all, and I mention it only for accuracy. The joints could use some glue, ... morebut otherwise the bed is very sturdy when set up and looks fantastic. A great bed for a guest room. Antique 1800s Victorian Eastlake Carved Cherry Double Bed Head/Footboard Rails

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I have available an genuine period piece from the 1800s in this Eastlake style Victorian full size bed with headboard. Footboard and original rails in a cherry finish. Head and footboards are carved with a cut and pierced gallery finishing off the top of headboard. Wood is cut and layered on rails to produce the stepped detail on the ends. Bed fits a standard full size mattress 54" x 75" Pictured in bright sunlight and cloud cover. Bed is in overall very good condition. However, there are some signs of age on this 100 plus year old heirloom- there is some separation between the leg and body on the front right of footboard. Footboard is still very solid. There are also two spots on same leg on side where the wood must have been wet a one time ... moreas the finish color is lighter. There is also a long crack on the carved gallery on top of headboard and two of the six small gallery supports on back of headboard are missing. Gallery is solid and not loose or in danger of breaking. My guess is this crack has been there for many, many years. There are many small marks and scratches on legs. Many scratches on inside of headboard where hidden by bed. Please see all pics. This is a Late 1800's 3/4 rope bed. This truly is authentic shabby chic. This belonged to my friend's grandmother. It is from the late 1800's. It is a 3/4 rope bed. It is just the Head& Foot boards. I do not have the ropes or any other parts. My friend got it evaluated& in 1992 if refinished was appraised at $900. It has not had anything done to it& has been in storage all this time waiting to go to a good home. May be able to turn it into a twin size but not sure! This bed is a mid-19th century continental bird’s eye maple and parcel gilt bedstead w/carved decoration and paneled centre flanked by turned columns on bun feet. The headboard is intricately carved with a central carving and monogram of what looks like a stylized“M” and“S” This is flanked by“waves” of gilded carving. The headboard is decorated with two twisted columns with topped by carved and gilded Corinthian capitels. The same motifs are repeated on the footboard. All of the carving is of very high quality. The bed is in perfect condition in the sense that it is not warped or cracked or split and has been professionally renovated and cleaned up. There is wear on the gilt. Which is normal with age and contributes to the patina. In that sense. The bed is not“mint. Matching Pair of Iron Bed Rails, with Tapered Cone Ends and Welded Side Pieces
We don't list a lot of furniture on eBay. So I'm not sure where to start with this pair of heavy duty iron side rails for an antique brass or cast iron bed. So let's start with some measurements. They are about 74" long and the tapered cones at the ends are about 1" in diameter at the top, tapering down to about ½" at the bottom. Each rail is made up of two parts welded together. The bottom part has the conical fittings to attach to the headboard and footboard, while the upper part serves as a bumper to prevent the slats or box spring from sliding from side to side. They weigh about 20 pounds each. So we're advertising them as"local pickup only" and we are in Cornish, Maine. I think it's just a matter of finding a cylinder long enough and strong enough to hold them. Antique rope bed 1800's walnut with side rails
Antique authentic Rope bed probably early to mid 1800's. Has the side rails. Although the bed was used with more modern side rails at some point. See pix that show where the original connection was filled in with wood. Could be restored to original configuration. The wood looks like walnut and it in good condition. This is a very rare solid mahogany rope sleigh bed dating to the mid 19th century. This wonderful high end piece of furniture is stamped A&D 71 on one of the rails of the head or foot board. This piece is in excellent original condition. The cloth attaching the side rails is not in the best of shape, it is torn. This was a high end bed, it features a ratcheting system to enable the use to tighten the ropes as the stretched over time! I have heard of people using a thick memory foam mattress or a pillow top mattress on these rope beds. This is either a full or 3/4 size bed.
