Here is an extremely rare opportunity to buy a true southern plantation style bed. Circa 1840's- 1850's, with gorgeous high back crotch mahogany headboard and four posts, nine feet tall with their finials in place. The overall measurements of this bed are 85 inches long by 71 inches wide at it's furthest points. It will fit a full size corner cut mattress as the internal dimensions within the frame measure 75 inches long by 61 inches wide. As I outline above in my condition description, the bed is designed to travel in parts and I attempt to show the construction in my multiple pictures. The footboard posts appear to have been designed to travel in two parts as the headboard posts do easily, but I have not been able to separate them. The bed is most likely one of the best we have ever owned. It could be as early as Napoleon III.But more like from the end of the late 1800's or 1900. The quality, design and construction of this bed suggest that a furniture maker such as Paul Sormani, Henry Dasson or Francois Linke; the bed is of this quality. One example is in the detail, expense and pride of construction. With special note to the bronze trim. The bronze is not solid, but is wrapped on wood trim then pressed and conformed to shape; it is just amazing. There are 4 different shapes and sizes. The fluted columns are no exception; attached bronze or brass in the flutes and shaped bronze or brass over the turned ... morecapitals and plinths. The gorgeous mahogany wood has a subtle grain pattern with a mellow patina. The color is magnificent and allows the trim to stand out. This is an oversized 81-inch-tall mahogany pineapple poster bed that probably dates from the 1880s. In a most unusual style. Of all the ... morebeds I’ve ever had, I’ve never seen one like this. It has flame mahogany panels on the headboard and footboard, fluted and reeded pillars on the sides, and pineapples carved out of solid mahogany on the tops, but leaf carving in the center block underneath, which is very unusual and very stylish. Then it has a Sheraton poster legs on the base. It’s a bolt-up bed, which means it takes bolts to close up the side rails, and you can disassemble it by taking the bolts out of the headboard and footboard. It was most likely bench made. The rails were all messed up, as they say, and we had to fabricate an identical set of rails to make it all straight and true. The bed is 81 inches tall, which is unbelievable. The outside width is 61.5 inches, the height on the footboard shield is 45 inches tall, and on the headboard is 54 inches tall. The inside dimensions are 58 inches by 76 inches, which will easily accommodate a full-size box spring and mattress, and for an additional $200 we can make it a queen-size bed, measuring 60 x 80. Antique Mahogany Queen bed with inlaid woodwork of walnut
it is the late 1800's antique bed- headboard. Foot board, side boards. We believe it is made of mahogany with inlaid woodwork of walnut? Not 100% sure however it is quite heavy. Not in perfect condition, we would say fair condition or has been loved: it is an odd size apparently. Side boards are 77inches in length. Seems to be an UK/Ireland queen? Height of the headboard is 63 inches. Width of both headboard and footboard is 70 1/2 inches. It also features brass"socks" on the bottom of the footboard- you can see it in the pics:

This is a very rare solid mahogany rope sleigh bed dating to the mid 19th century. This wonderful high end piece of furniture is stamped A&D 71 on one of the rails of the head or foot board. This piece is in excellent original condition. The cloth attaching the side rails is not in the best of shape, it is torn. This was a high end bed, it features a ratcheting system to enable the use to tighten the ropes as the stretched over time! The deeply patinated and perfectly colored surfaces are vibrant and very striking. Particularly when set against the oxidized brass trimmings and mounts. The arched crest of the headboard is flanked by finely cast brass acanthus finials on either corner, the same treatments replicated in the footboard. The bed rests over bold turned feet and is joined with a three-part rail on either side, the whole crafted with fully solid mahogany and the interior edge lined with a later installation of solid oak to support the poplar planks. This is an exquisite selection for any fine home- not too ornate to be out of place while having very ... moreclassic lines of a softened angularity. This is a bed that will be cherished in your home for a lifetime. Antique Victorian Rococo Revival Solid Mahogany Bed Full / Double
For your consideration here is a Beautiful Rococo Revival Double Bed. About 150 years old. Made out of Solid Mahogany and nicely refinished with rails extension to the now day's standard size. Headboard with elaborate carving of scrolls. Fruits and flora. Foot board curving up and around to form parts of sides with stretcher spanning width of bed to support mattress. Some natural cracks occurring by shrinking of the wood through years and not all the way through(footboard, side rails' brackets) and one rail has a crack at the top part(has been repaired) which does not carry any weight(pic#8) The bed is very sturdy and can serve to you for another century. The color of the sideboard depends on a light intensity-it is closer to red on a bright light and closer to brown on a poor light. Measurements: headboard is 63"H.
