This antique bed certainly looks the part, and while it is in overall good condition, it does have a few items worth mentioning. The paint is flaking(see photos) and there is some surface rust, though this is nothing that will affect the display quality or functionality of the bed itself. At some point in its long history. The brass top bar was lost from the footboard. This again does not affect the stability of the bed. We have assembled it for show on several occasions, and all the parts fit perfectly and without the use of bolts or screws(again see photos) This, combined with the attached metal wheels, makes it easy to move around and store as well. The bed measures 79 inches long and 53 3/4 inches wide. With the actual bed frame coming out at 79 inches long, 54 1/2 inches wide, and 52 inches tall to the bed knob. Our research shows this will work with a full or double mattress, though bidders should be sure of the size of their mattresses before bidding, just to be sure. Armoire, dresser, 2 night stands, 2 mirrors and vanity ... moreIt is light green hand painted with beach scenes with people in boats. Even the sides of dresser and armoire are hand painted with scenes I think it is 1900's but could be earlier. I bought it 10 years ago and it was described as French cream and brown. I am only giving it up as I have inherited a family bedroom suite and need the room. Beautiful brass ornate pulls(all there) Glass tops are on dresser and nite stands as well as vanity all there. Dresser is 50 inches wide and has mirror 46 inches wide small thin piece of trim on front of dresser is missing but is easily replaced Armoire is 37 inches wide and 79 inches tall the original key is still with it The armoire door is not latching but would be easy to fix. I show a picture of the inside of the armoire, there is a rod inside of armoire with a small drawer. The vanity is 42 inches wide with matching ornate mirror and drawer. The 2 nightstands both have a door that opens for storage they are 22" wide. The bed head board is adorned with flowers has a small area of paint missing. Bed is 67 inches across and 58 inches tall. It would easily accommodate a 3/4 full or queen mattress. There is not a footboard or side rails it was not made for them. The mattress set pictured is a queen select comfort but is not included with the set Let me know if you have questions or need more pictures so that you can see the conditon of this set. Some tarnish on brass(all brass pieces are solid brass, NOT plated) Some chips and scratches in the white paint. This bed is the highly desirable'mountain top' or also called'triple hump' style bed with fancy iron castings including angel faces on both the head and foot boards(see photos) The bed is a standard full size 54" wide. But someone has already had the rails extended in length so they can acomidate a queen size boxspring and mattress which is longer also wider than the old style fullsize. The bed measures 67 1/2" tall and 54" wide. The footboard is 51" tall. A modern queen size boxspring or foundation is 60" wide and 78" long. The bedding extends over the top of the side rails a few inches on each side and the rails have been extended to 81 1/2" leaving a few inches ... moreto spare on length. Solid Brass Canopy Bed(stead) richly detailed with ornate and heavy brass castings. All decorative parts are solid brass and the four posters and are inlaid with elegant scroll carvings. Antique Victorian Era Brass Full Size Bed 2-Inch Tubing with Casters Ornate
This antique brass bed dates to the Victorian era and measures 55 inches wide and measures 75 inches in length. Making this a full-size bed. The headboard stands 64 inches tall and the footboard stands 40 inches tall. This bed is authentic. Old, has a great patina. It is constructed from rolled solid brass with a lacquer finish. If one was so inclined, this one would shine up well and present a super glossy finish. Some people like these with patina, and some all gussied up so we will let the winning bidder make the decision. There are some small dents and dings typical with an antique utilitarian item. But present much better than most of these I have seen where the corners and all the fittings are crushed. This is a large piece of furniture and is for local pick-up only. This is an antique brass and cast iron double bed from the 1800's. It is marked on metal tag: Whitcomb Metallic Bedstead Company Manufacturers. Shelton. Conn. It is a double bed measuring 54 inches wide. The siderails measure 75 inches long and the brass rails measure 82" The headboard is 57 inches high and footboard is 37 inches high. The bed is very heavy and solid. Some of the seams in brass are split a bit which is common. Everything is tight. The siderails are not original and have been resoldered with ends that fit the headboard/footboard. One of the corner cast iron receptacles has been rewelded/repaired but is fine. Nice old bed. Antique British Cast Iron & Brass 'Spirits Be Gone' Bed
VERY unique antique(circa 1860-1870) British iron and brass double/full size bed with canopy. Dimensions: 53" wide by 85" long. Has 3 round medallions on the footboard set in round bulleted brass frames with inlaid copper and mirrored stars used to ward off evil spirits. This was accomplished by setting mirrors around the bed. And when not-so-friendly spirits would see their reflection in the mirrors they would get frightened and go packing! The bed is missing three of the tiny brass balls that go on top of the finals on the head and footboard in addition to what would appear to be larger brass knobs or balls that would sit on the top 4 corners. This is an old solid brass and copper covered beadwork bed. The copper is over metal I believe in the fine beadwork of the bed. There is two of the claw feet there and the other two are missing. They can easily be duplicated as you can take the other two off for this. The bed is 55 inches wide and there are no bed rails with this. I have taken some close up of a area that has some scratches or light denting. I will crate this for free and it can be shipped to most parts of the country by our shipper for about $200.00. Antique brass and iron canopy bed. Aesthetic Movement era with stylized sunflowers on the headboard and a brass plaque depicting the Madonna and Child on the footboard. Originally from Malta, brought to the US in the 1970s. Originally a double bed, the rails have been lengthened to fit a queen size mattress. The width has not been altered. A queen size mattress fits nicely. There are hand-painted flowers twining up the canopy posts, some are worn off with age, others are still there. We don't list a lot of furniture on eBay. So I'm not sure where to start with this matching headboard and footboard from an antique brass and cast iron bed. So let's start with some measurements. They are about 54" wide and the headboard is 61" tall and the footboard 37" The iron cross pieces are designed with tapered conical holes where the side rails attach, while the upper parts are made of a mix of brass and iron(the magnet test yields a variety of results) suggesting that many of the parts that appear to be brass might just be a brass wash or perhaps a brass tube sleeving a heavier cast iron tube. They have some dents and scratches and discolored areas, and, although it's been a while since we set it up, I seem to recall it's pretty fiddly to put together, with those vertical slats developing a tendency ... moreto slide out of their mounting holes.
